  • Patent number: 8919676
Abstract: An agricultural sprayer includes a spray boom equipped with a plurality of spray heads, with each head having a body defining a cavity located in fluid communication with a fluid inlet and an array of four outlets leading to four nozzles respectively having different flow rates. A nozzle-select control member is mounted for rotation in the cavity and includes a fluid passage arrangement for establishing fluid connections between the inlet and different ones or combinations of the four nozzles as the control member is rotated among preselected discrete positions by an electric stepper motor, with the stepper motor being controlled in response to vehicle speed so that the spray tip capacity decreases for effecting a constant application rate as the vehicle speed decreases from a maximum permitted speed.

  • Patent number: 8800892
Abstract: A regulating device for a water outflow, in particular of sanitary fittings, comprises a cylindrical sleeve with a central cylinder axis. The sleeve is adapted for attachment to or in the water outflow. A support plate is disposed perpendicular with respect to the axis of the sleeve. A throttling and regulating element can rotate relative to the support plate about the axis and can move in the direction of the axis. By way of the throttling and regulating element, water can flow through from one side of the support plate to the other side of the support plate. The throttling and regulating element comprises a device for fine throttling of the water. An annular distribution space for the water is delimited by the support plate, the sleeve and the throttling and regulating element. In the distribution space, water can flow in from openings in the throttling and regulating element. In the distribution space, water can flow out of the sleeve to a water outlet.

  • Patent number: 5934573
Abstract: The dispenser dispenses and spreads measured quantities of granular materials over a relatively wide area. A plurality of individual measurement chambers are distributed throughout a disc or rectilinear panel which is moved relative to other discs or panels with similarly shaped and spaced holes to first cover the inlet to the chambers to prevent unwanted leakage of material from the interior of the container, and to then open the outlet to each of the chambers to dispense material. A deflector is positioned below the dispenser outlets to spread the dispersed materials over an even wider area. The dispenser is used advantageously to spread seasonings and other food materials onto spread-out food items such as french fries and popcorn, large kettles and vats, etc.

  • Patent number: 4380319
Abstract: A liquid spray nozzle has an outer orificed plate portion with a generally elliptical orifice which tapers in the direction of the water stream and an inner orificed member which has a larger centrally located circular orifice and a pair of smaller circular orifices arranged symmetrically on either side of the central orifice. A centrally located tubular channel member is provided to carry the water stream from a hose or the like such that it passes through the inner and outer orificed members. Means are provided for rotating the orificed members relative to each other. In a first position where the smaller orifices of the inner plate are positioned opposite the corners of the elliptical orifice of the outer plate, a flat, fan-shaped spray is produced. When one of the orificed members is rotated to a position 90.degree. from this first-mentioned position whereat the smaller inner circular orifices are covered by the outer orificed plate, a high-force, narrow cylindrical water stream is provided.

  • Patent number: 4151955
Abstract: A fluid dispersal device utilizes the Karman Vortex street phenomenon to cyclically oscillate a fluid stream before issuing the stream in a desired flow pattern. A chamber includes an inlet and outlet with an obstacle or island disposed therebetween to establish the vortex street. The vortex street causes the stream to be cyclically swept transversely of its flow direction in a manner largely determined by the size and shape of the obstacle relative to the inlet and outlet, the spacing between the obstacle and the outlet, the outlet area, and the Reynolds number of the stream.
