Patent number: 4461454Abstract: A two piece valve accessory for common caulking tubes or cartridges insertable in caulking guns is disclosed. The valve permits resealing of the cartridge nozzle, snout or applicator tip without hardening or significant wastage of the material therein and permits increased control of the flow rate of material from the cartridge. The valve is adjustable from fully open to closed position and includes a separate sealed or dome extended position wherein the residue from the applicator tip of the valve is expelled. The valve barrel includes an integral piercing edge to break the cartridge seal as the valve is inserted into the applicator tip of the cartridge. The barrel is sized and ribbed for an interference non-rotatable fit within the applicator tip. The valve cap is fully rotatable on the barrel and includes a beveled tip to direct material in any radial direction relative to the caulking gun handle.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1982Date of Patent: July 24, 1984Assignee: New Product, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth Vadnais

Patent number: 4260130Abstract: A valve for the control of corrosive fluids is disclosed which includes a spring returned valve spool in a valve housing, the valve being manually movable by actuation of an exteriorly accessible handle, the valve spool being connected to and movable with a pipe for dispensing, the handle being removably carried on the valve housing, the valve housing having separable portions for access to the interior, the valve spool having a central passageway communicating with the dispensing pipe and having spaced packings movable in a bore, the spool in one position having one packing positioned to permit access of fluid to the central passageway while the other packing prevents access of fluid therebeyond and protects other components associated with the valve spool.Provisions are also made for locking the spool valve to prevent unintended fluid delivery.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1979Date of Patent: April 7, 1981Assignee: B & G Equipment CompanyInventor: George L. Patent number: 4195780Abstract: An adjustable nozzle for directing and amplifying the flow of compressed air or other pressurized fluid. The nozzle includes a rear body section and a front nozzle section, the two sections being threadedly connected to define a forwardly-facing flow-directing passage and a radially-extending metering passage communicating with the flow-directing passage. The size of the metering passage may be selectively adjusted without altering the cross-sectional dimensions of the flow-directing passage by rotating the nozzle section into any selected position of threaded adjustment upon the body section, such position (and the relative dimension of the metering section) being indicated by micrometer markings upon the exposed surfaces of the respective sections.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1978Date of Patent: April 1, 1980Assignee: Vortec CorporationInventor: Leslie R. Inglis

Patent number: 4072271Abstract: An improvement on a ball valve for use in detachably connecting a riser pipe to an irrigation lateral. The novel valve has a throat operatively connected to the outlet end of the valve. The throat receives a valve trigger tube which has spaced fingers extending longitudinally from the end of the pipe to engage the ball, thereby forming apertures between the fingers which serve as a strainer to prevent the passage of foreign objects and which can be sized to regulate the flow of water. When the tube is withdrawn the flow of the water through the then open end of the tube generates a self-cleaning action.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1972Date of Patent: February 7, 1978Assignee: Irrigation Engineering & SpecialtiesInventors: Hubert E. Voss, Ronald W. Roth

Patent number: 4025000Abstract: A spray nozzle having an orifice plate fixedly retained in the front opening of a nozzle body by a readily deformable lip and having an improved valve stem and guide construction whereby assembly and construction of the nozzle is greatly expedited and at reduced costs.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1976Date of Patent: May 24, 1977Assignee: Lafayette Brass Company Inc.Inventor: William Blasnik

Patent number: 3979786Abstract: A vertical hollow tube closed at its top end has a first hole in its side wall adjacent its top end and is filled with gaseous deodorizer under pressure. A vertical hollow cylinder closed at its top end and open at its bottom end has a second hole in its side wall. The cylinder is vertically slidable up and down along the tube whereby the holes can be moved into and out of alignment. The deodorizer escapes from the tube to the outside through the holes when aligned and is otherwise confined within the tube. Spring means disposed within the cylinder between the top ends of cylinder and tube normally biases the cylinder in a position relative to the tube at which the second hole is out of alignment with and disposed above the first hole. When a shoe engages cylinder and tube with the cylinder disposed' inside the toe, the weight of the shoe overcomes the normal bias and the cylinder is moved downward until the second hole is out of alignment with and disposed below the first hole.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1975Date of Patent: September 14, 1976Assignee: The Raymond Lee Organization, Inc.Inventors: Frank Vierra, Joyce Vierra

Patent number: 3979064Abstract: A shower head is disclosed for regulating water flow. Improvements enable a constant shower spray to be produced even though changes may occur in the pressure in the main lines. According to the invention, this is brought about by arranging outlet holes of the shower head in a flexible diaphragm-like disc held in the shower head casing by its edge. This disc reacts to slight changes in main line pressure to flex and adjust the volume of water within the head, thereby adjusting the resultant pressure within the head to compensate the change to main line pressure. This flexure of the disc also dislodges lime deposits and the like from the outlet holes, thereby providing a self-cleaning function.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1975Date of Patent: September 7, 1976Assignee: ITT Industries, Inc.Inventor: Lars Nordentoft
