  • Patent number: 7226003
Abstract: A flow shut off or throttling valve is provided in a sprinkler nozzle housing to enable a nozzle to be changed without having to turn off a flow pressure source. The valve intersects a flow path through the nozzle housing and has an opening such that when the opening is aligned with the flow path, a flow stream can flow unobstructed through the flow path. The valve is movable between a fully open position in which the opening is aligned with the flow path and a closed position which blocks the flow stream from flowing to a nozzle disposed at an outlet passage of the flow path. The valve may be constructed to be either slidable or rotatable between the two positions, and is actuated by a gearing arrangement which is operable at the exterior of the nozzle housing. The safety device includes a tubular body and a butterfly disc with two coaxial trunnions pivotally mounted on the body. The butterfly disc is movable inside the tubular body between an open position, in which the butterfly disc allows water to flow, and a closed position, in which the butterfly disc restricts this flow. An external control lever is integral with one of the trunnions. A trigger is borne by the control lever and bears against the ground. The trigger holds the butterfly disc in its open position when the control lever exerts a downwardly directed vertical force thereon due to the action of the water flowing over the butterfly disc.

Abstract: A decorative fountain includes a hollow body having a recessed area provided with a nappe zone and a shower zone, and a reservoir defined in a bottom portion of the hollow body for receiving therein water. A water pump assembly is received in the reservoir for pumping water in the reservoir to the inlet of the control valve to selectively sprinkle water out of the primary outlet, the secondary outlet or the third outlet. A cover is mounted on top of the hollow body to cover the recessed area and has a controlling knob rotatably mounted inside the cover. Therefore, rotation of the controlling knob is able to control activation of the primary outlet, the secondary outlet and the third outlet to sprinkle water from the reservoir to either the nappe zone or the shower zone.

Abstract: A spray tip assembly for airless paint sprayer guns incorporates a tip having multiple nozzles, each of which may be used independently. For a first embodiment of the invention the shaft of the spray tip assembly incorporates multiple spaced apart nozzles and a handle at one end thereof. The shaft also incorporates a spring-loaded detent ball which, in combination with a plurality of spaced-apart annular or semi-annular grooves in the housing bore, serves as a shaft locator for each of the nozzles. The grooves permit positioning of each of the nozzles in either a normal spraying position or in a reversed, unclogging position. For a second embodiment of the invention, the tip housing incorporates three spaced-apart annular channels, all three of which are interconnected by a tab-receiving slot shaped to admit a stop tab attached to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6619569
Abstract: The extended reach pressure relief spray valve mounts on the end of any length extension tube with any brand of spray gun or feeder valve. As the fluid is pumped through the spray gun and extension tube and into the spray valve, the pressure increases until it reaches an adjustable pressure relief set point (such as 1000 psi). At that point the valve opens and begins spraying. The relief spray valve doesn't require any long needles or cables to actuate the valve that results in a very simple extended reach pole gun. The relief spray valve opens by fluid pressure. Such fluid pressure can be easily adjusted by the user. The valve can be installed on any length pole. The spray relief valve is located next to the spray tip to minimize the paint from spitting and provides a sharp spray pattern. The spray relief valve is also built with a 180-degree swivel spray head for easy turn directional spraying.
