  • Patent number: 6655606
Abstract: A spray tip assembly for airless paint sprayer guns incorporates a tip having multiple nozzles, each of which may be used independently. For a first embodiment of the invention the shaft of the spray tip assembly incorporates multiple spaced apart nozzles and a handle at one end thereof. The shaft also incorporates a spring-loaded detent ball which, in combination with a plurality of spaced-apart annular or semi-annular grooves in the housing bore, serves as a shaft locator for each of the nozzles. The grooves permit positioning of each of the nozzles in either a normal spraying position or in a reversed, unclogging position. For a second embodiment of the invention, the tip housing incorporates three spaced-apart annular channels, all three of which are interconnected by a tab-receiving slot shaped to admit a stop tab attached to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6626382
Abstract: An air volume adjustment knob for a spray gun is provided at the rear end of the spray gun, a threaded opening connected through an airway to accommodate a tube, a ring, a bonnet, a spring and a bolt; a hole being provided in the tube; a shaft containing a screwed hole being protruded from one end of the tube; a polygonal block being formed at the end of the shaft; the ring with a threaded section being sleeved onto the shaft of the tube; a retaining hole being axially formed in the center of the bonnet; and an index being protruded from the bonnet; thus, the ring and the tube being fixed to the opening then secured with the bonnet in relation to the polygonal block of the tube to merely fix the tube to the opening with the ring and to control on and off of the airway through the hole of the tube by turning the bonnet.

  • Publication number: 20030127541
Abstract: A device and method are provided for regulating two types of flow from a nozzle. The first flow is a deluge stream and the second flow is a fog spray. The deluge stream is controlled by the nozzle operator using a first flow control valve, such as a ball valve. The fog spray is controlled by the nozzle operator using a second flow control valve. The nozzle permits the nozzle operator to manually control the flow of the nozzle, thereby permitting quick regulation and adjustment of flow types and amounts to accommodate then existing fluid pressure and supply conditions to address fluid application needs.

  • Publication number: 20030015606
Abstract: The adjustable arc spray nozzle allows adjustment of the spray arc, the radius, and flow of the water spray provided by the nozzle. The nozzle includes a top member, a base member, and a discharge orifice defined therebetween. A rotatable external upper collar controls the radius of the pattern, an internal helix member controls the arc of the spray pattern, and an internal flow adjustment screw and an optional rotatable external lower collar control the flow of the nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20030006045
Abstract: The purpose of the invention is to protect an instrumented firefighter's fire hose nozzle from shock and undesirable environmental pollutant penetration. The invention provides for doing this through the use of a rugged cover on the equipment as well as soft equipment mounts. The cover provides the instrumentation with protection from impact as well as protection from contamination by environmental pollutants. On the inside of the cover, the shock sensitive equipment is seated on an island that is mounted by one or more soft vertical posts, which protect this equipment from shock.

  • Publication number: 20020008153
Abstract: Method and apparatus are presented for instrumentation of a firefighter's vari-nozzle for motion tracking and measurement of pattern selector and bail handle positions. In the embodiment presented here, brackets and associated hardware attach (1) a position tracking device to the nozzle to measure its 6-DOF (Degrees of Freedom) position and orientation, and (2) potentiometers to measure the angular positions of the two main, moving components (the bail handle and the pattern selector) of the nozzle. The mounts are attached to the brass nozzle with holes drilled into the main body of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6302339
Abstract: A continuously adjustable water flow control apparatus includes at least a control seat, a adjustment head, a push sleeve and an adjustment cap. A relative position between the adjusting plate and the push sleeve can be changed by adjusting the adjustment cap to press against the adjusting plate of the adjustment head. Accordingly, a stepless change of the sectional figure and area of the water channel is attainable. In addition, the use of the continuously adjustable water flow control apparatus in combination with different kinds of shower heads and rotational devices will meet different needs of the users.

  • Patent number: 6170765
Abstract: A shower head having a water inlet passage for providing a supply of water to the shower head and a plurality of nozzles for expelling water from the shower head. The flow of water from the water inlet passage to the nozzles is controlled by a pressure actuated toggle valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is in communication with a rotatable bottom portion of the shower head and rotates as the bottom portion of the shower head rotates. The valve mechanism can adjust the flow of water to the nozzles and shut it off altogether.
