  • Patent number: 6006405
Abstract: A hook for a rope includes a vertical inverted U-shaped hook portion and a horizontal base with more than three rings for winding and binding an elastic rope thereon to keep an end of the rope securely enough not to loosen off. The hook may be made with a steel wire bent or formed by means of injecting and shooting process.

  • Patent number: 5771625
Abstract: A fish trace (10) has a trace line (11) with projections (12) spaced along it, and the projections (12) are selectively engaged by two spaced legs (21) of a resilient clip (13), the leg ends being returned over the legs and the return portions (27) thereby defining a mouth through which the trace line (11) can be simply passed, and a projection (12) can be retained between the legs (21) in a clip (13) by the legs (21) and their return portions (27) and consequent entrapment of the trace line (11) adjacent opposite ends of the projection (12), the legs (21) having to be again deflected for the trace line and projection to come away from the clip. The entire trace can be free of knots which otherwise reduce the line strength.

  • Patent number: 5636413
Abstract: A Jon Line clip that includes an elongated slender cylindrical shaft portion, a cylindrical coil portion, a smooth semi-circular portion, and a serpentine retaining portion. The elongated slender cylindrical shaft portion has a proximal end, a distal end, a diameter, and a longitudinal axis. The cylindrical coil portion lies in a plane and is made from an elongated slender rod material that has a diameter. The cylindrical coil portion extends smoothly from the proximal end of the elongated slender cylindrical shaft portion and perpendicularly upwardly from the longitudinal axis of the elongated slender cylindrical shaft portion, so that a Jon line can be secured therethrough. The smooth semi-circular portion lies in a plane and is made from an elongated slender rod material having a diameter. The smooth semi-circular portion extends smoothly from the distal end of the elongated slender cylindrical shaft portion.

  • Patent number: 5402555
Abstract: The present invention provides a line tightening and fastening device which may be effectively used by mentally and physically handicapped persons. The fastening device includes laterally extending arms, each of which is equipped with an eyelet. The arms and eyelets are biased together in lateral alignment by a looped springed section which allows the eyelets to be forcibly sprung apart. When used, a tightening end of a fastening line or rope is strung through the eyelets, between the arms and then laterally between the eyelets. The line is tightened within the device simply by drawing upon the tightening line end to draw the line between eyelets. By drawing upon the opposite line or fastening end, the line becomes securely wedged between the eyelets and fastened onto the device.

  • Patent number: 5210912
Abstract: A curved rod-like member defines two right facing and two left facing bights. These may each receive a bight of a rope and by use of the member thus connected many coupling features are provided. Member shaping to align the bights and avoid rotary torque is provided.

  • Patent number: 5012559
Abstract: This rope tightener is supported by or is engageable with a rope, line cord, or the like before it is manually tensioned and thereafter manipulated to draw the rope taut. The rope is stressed by threading the rope through a rectangular shaped loop in the device and then rotating the device in a plane parallel to the rope to twist the rope around a central body portion of the rectangular shaped loop in the device. After the first rotation of the device, the rope begins to wrap around itself. This lengthens the path of the rope and applies tension to the rope. The device is secured against reverse rotation by placing a reach of the rope under a reverse hook on the other end of the device. The device is a simple, one piece, rigid element, which is capable of giving a huge mechanical advantage in applying tension to a rope, line, cord or the like.

  • Patent number: 4745663
Abstract: A fastening device for a rope; the fastening device serving as an attachment hook, a tie-down binder, or a rope joiner, all without the use of knots in the rope or ropes. The device includes a shank having a hook at one end and an open loop at the other end. The open loop continues into a double parallel leg arrangement defining an open slot therebetween and terminates in a third leg. In that all slots and loops are open, the device may be attached anywhere along the mid-length of a rope to provide the functions, indicated.

  • Patent number: 4538372
Abstract: A releasable downrigger clip is disclosed having a finite length of spring wire and having a first segment thereof at a first end doubled back upon itself to define an eyelet and a releasable clasp enabling an intermediate segment of an elongate downrigger wire to be received in the eyelet by passing between the spring wire and the releasable clasp. A second segment of wire at the opposite end of the finite length is also doubled back on itself to define a hook. A closed loop is provided in the segment of the wire intermediate the opposite ends with the opposite ends of the loop resiliently engaging each other but being separable against the resilient urging caused by the resilience of the spring wire. In use, the clip is adapted to releasably engage the downrigger wire which extends from the downrigger arrangement to a weight connected at a free end thereof beneath the surface of the water.

  • Patent number: 4435102
Abstract: A connector is disclosed herein for releasably securing a hooked end of a bungee cord to a supporting element which includes a linear body section terminating at one end in a double socket holder for engaging the supporting element and terminating at its opposite end in a conical receptacle for insertably receiving and holding a selected one of the bungee cord ends. This double socket is formed with openings facing from opposite directions and are joined at one side by a solid portion while its opposite or corresponding side is open or deformable so as to permit insertion and manipulation of the supporting element there through.

  • Patent number: 4414711
Abstract: My invention consists of a single unitary shaped resilient rod formed with an open eye section at one end of the rod of a size to detachably fit permanently about a flexible electrical cord near the attachment plug of the cord. The rod extends at right angles to the attached cord for a first distance and then extends a second distance at right angles to this first distance for a length generally of the length of an attached plug and socket assembly. The rod then extends along a diagonal axis towards the cord to terminate in an open S or Z shape of a size to permit wrapping about a second flexible electric cord attached to a socket joined to the plug of the first cord. The invention thus serves to prevent disengagement of the plug from the socket, and prevents separation of two attached electrical cords.

  • Patent number: 4194354
Abstract: Disclosed is a timer provided with a cord so that the same may be worn as a pendant. The timer comprises two mating half housings, one of which carries a cap having a notch and secured to the adjacent housing by a screw or other suitable means. Intermediate the cap and the adjacent housing half is a stirrup shaped along its length to conform generally to the contour of the housing and extending through the notch and into the cap where it has an eyelet on one end through which the screw holding the cap passes to secure the stirrup in place. The other outer end of the stirrup has a loop. The ends of the cord pass frictionally through the loop and along the length of the stirrup, through the notch in the cap and are positioned within the cap and gripped securely between the cap and the adjacent housing half.
