  • Patent number: 4503591
Abstract: A clothing ring is provided for storing articles of clothing, such as socks, during laundering, so that the articles are not separated during laundering. The ring has a loop with a sharply pointed end for insertion through the articles of clothing, and another end having a locking member. The pointed end of the loop slides into a U-shaped channel in the locking member for locking the two ends together, to thus prevent separation of the articles of clothing. The ring may also be used as a key ring.

  • Patent number: 4476616
Abstract: There is provided an improved locking ring which may be used as a staple and a staple gun for clinching the locking ring. An open ring of spring-like material is provided having a pair of free ends with loops bent back. The open ring is clinched by intermating these loops thus forming a strong locking ring. A staple gun apparatus is provided to clinch the locking ring. A specially shaped die at the end of the staple gun having grooves which are cross-sectional mirror images of one another is utilized.

  • Patent number: 4414715
Abstract: A wire grip hose clamp is disclosed, adapted to be applied to a hose by a driving tool having a rotatable socket. The clamp is characterized by having incorporated therein a screw having a relatively long head which is received in said socket, and a base flange formed integrally with said head and of enlarged diameter whereby to provide additional bearing surface for the end of the socket. The base flange has a conical or chamfered surface. These improvements are designed to prevent or minimize any tendency of the socket to become disengaged from the screw during installation of the clamp on the hose. The screw, including the head and flange, are made by forging or cold heading.

  • Patent number: 4375118
Abstract: A connection for releasably securing the ends of an elongated member, such as a wire, used to bale packages or bundles of goods and material. The connection includes a hook or heel supported by a loop configuration which is insertable within a second loop formed on the other end of the elongated member, such that the heel or hook is attached into interconnecting relationship with the second loop. The connection permits the elongated member to be coupled and released as desired during baling and unbaling operations.

  • Patent number: 4342138
Abstract: An ovalized cross-sectional shaped bale-tie wire for use in baling materials includes a body portion and engaging looped members formed at each end of the body portion. The process for manufacturing an ovalized cross-sectional shaped bale-tie wire includes the steps of withdrawing round wire from a wire drum, straightening the round wire, passing the straightened wire through an ovalizing mill to form the ovalized cross-sectional shaped wire, accumulating the ovalized cross-sectional shaped wire, controlling the length of the wire by predeterminely cutting the wire preforming simultaneously the engaging looped members on the trailing end of the leading bale-tie wire and the leading end of the trailing bale-tie wire and bending the looped end portions out of the plane of the body portion of the bale-tie wire.

  • Patent number: 4296534
Abstract: A clamp used mainly for connectively fixing a flexible hose, typified by a gas hose, water-service hose or the like, to the mouthpiece portion of a cock, joint or the like. The clamp comprises a clamping band formed of a single metal wire wound into a pair of circular rings adapted to loosely receive a hose therein, an operating lever formed of a metal strip disposed immediately above the overlap portion of the circular rings and pivotally engaged at its one end by one end of the winding of the clamping band, and a prop arm which connects the intermediate portion of the operating lever to the other end of the winding of the clamping band, the arrangement being such that by urging the operating lever at the other end thereof toward the circular rings of the clamping band, the lever action forces the opposite ends of the winding of the clamping band to move away from each other, thereby contractively deforming the opening diameter of the circular rings to effect the clamping of the hose.
