  • Patent number: 4796339
Abstract: Molded one-way snap fastener comprises a stud head having a base flange and radial fins extending up from its center to a circular top. The top has downward barbs spaced between the fins. The socket has a base flange and a sleeve having a tapered mouth with a throat and an annular downwardly and outwardly inclined bearing surface above the throat and a cylindrical opening thereabove. The dimensions of the parts are such that once the stud head is inserted into the socket and the barbs pass the throat, they spring out and contact the side walls of the cylindrical opening, immobilizing the stud head in the socket. After that, attempts to unsnap the socket result in the butting of the ends of the barbs into the bearing surface, which because of its downward and outward slope, spreads the barbs causing them more resolutely to defy unsnapping. The fastener must be destroyed to give up its snapped state.

  • Patent number: 4768704
Abstract: A button fastener for use with a storage carton having a stud on one button member which is extended through the side wall of the storage carton. Another button member then is engaged with the stud so as to receive the stud in a bore in it and the two button members are pressed together to force the stud through the bore until locking shoulders formed by an enlarged head on the stud and the cavity about the bore lockingly engage with one another to affix the two button members together. A longitudinal slot in the stud and the enlarged head on it permits the enlarged head to be sufficiently compressed together to be extended into and through the bore, and to then expand to engage the locking shoulders. Conical walls of the enlarged head also assist in inserting the enlarged head into the bore. The enlarged head on the stud is contained substantially or completely within the cavity about the bore and is thereby prevented from puncturing or otherwise damaging the side walls of the storage carton.

  • Patent number: 4669156
Abstract: A pipe clip comprising resilient material which comprises a mounting portion (1) with at least two clamps (3, 4) having clamping limb portions (3a, 3b; 4a, 4b) which can be resiliently spread open for the insertion of conduits (2), the clamps being adapted to the conduit cross-section. The clip has at least one stirrup portion (6) which engages over the clamps and which in its closed position snaps, with inner catches (7a, 9a) disposed on its two elastically spreadable limbs (7, 9), behind associated catches (3d, 4d) on the two mutually oppositely disposed outermost clamping limb portions (3a, 4b) of clamps (3, 4) which are arranged in side-by-side relationship in one plane. The stirrup portion is provided at each intermediate space between two clamps which are covered over thereby in the closed position thereof, with a bar portion (12) which in the closed position engages between said clamps and thereby resiliently spreads apart the two clamping limb portions (3b, 4a) which are most closely adjacent thereto.

Abstract: A cable clamp of the present invention comprises a base having a fixing portion on the lower surface, a flat clamp rockingly connected to the base, and a means for locking a distal end of the flat clamp to the base engageably or disengageably. The cable clamp retains electric wires between the base and the flat clamp. The locking member comprises a plate-shaped protrusion provided on the flat clamp or the base and a retaining protrusion formed with the outer surface thereof. A resilient retaining member is protrudingly provided on the flat clamp opposite the plate-shaped protrusion or the base and has a hole for engaging with the retaining protrusion. An engaging member is protrudingly provided on the same surface with the resilient retaining member in parallel and engaging with an inner surface of the plate-shaped protrusion. Further, a notched portion formed with a distal end of the resilient retaining member faces the engaging member.

Abstract: A decorative strip detachably secured at the support flange of a motor vehicle includes two essentially parallelly extending support sections of which one abuts at the bottom side of the support flange. Detent members are provided at a retaining clamp fastened at a flange bolt which engage form-lockingly and force-lockingly into one of several detent receiving elements of the support sections arranged one behind the other, whereby the apertures are preferably provided at the support section opposite the support flange. A decorative strip is created by this arrangement which with a secure fastening is adjustable relative to the body as well as adapted to be installed and disassembled in a simple manner.

  • Patent number: 4635326
Abstract: Described herein is a substrate fastener having a pair of inclined resilient coupling members at the opposite ends of a strut member, the coupling members being resiliently lockable in mounting holes provided in substrates to be fixed. A vertical substrate of a printed wiring board can be fixed in upright position on a horizontal printed wiring board easily and securely by the use of the fastener. Since the substrate fastener occupies only small areas on the substrates, it permits to improve the density of electronic parts which can be practically mounted on the printed wiring boards.

  • Patent number: 4636915
Abstract: A plastic fastener assembly is provided which has a base with an upstanding stab which has a single first tooth formed on one side of the stab and at least one second tooth formed on the opposite side of the stab. A cover defines an opening for receiving the stab. The cover has a control rail adjacent the opening and a flap extending into the opening opposite the central rail. The rail slides along the surface of the first tooth during assembly and urges the first tooth and stab toward the flap until the rail engages the notch of the first tooth. The flap automatically moves from the base during assembly as the first tooth and stab move toward the flap. The flap engages the second tooth when assembled inhibiting separation of the stab and cover.

  • Patent number: 4629356
Abstract: A securing unit for securing at least two different substrates spaced apart at a predetermined distance comprising a first securing portion for securing a first base plate, a second securing portion which forms an arrow shaped head and for securing a second base plate, and a support base portion for supporting said first and second securing portions in which the height of the first securing portion of the securing unit has been remarkably reduced. With this construction, the projection of the first securing portion of the unit is not impaired when removing unnecessary remnants or solder or when cleaning the surface of the first base plate, while the securings of the base plates by the first and second securing portions of the securing unit according to the present invention has been remarkably increased.
