  • Patent number: 7275289
Abstract: A device and method for forming an indented female connector where the dimension of the indented female connector provides for removing a male molding component without damaging a set of internal ribs formed inside the female connector. A structure comprising an indented female blow-molded connector having a first wall having a top surface and a thickness, with the first wall surrounding an opening. At least one inner wall extends substantially perpendicular to the first wall and borders the opening. At least one rib is formed in the inner wall. A bottom wall is joined to the inner wall and the distance from the rib to the top surface is greater than the thickness of the first wall. The structure further comprising a male connector having a contact edge, such that when positioned inside the indented female blow-molded connector, the contact edge releasably engages the at least one rib.

Abstract: A fastening clip with a flexible tether for use with a vehicle includes a first fastener attached to a component such as a vehicle body, and a second fastener attached to a removable component such as a vehicle trim panel. The first and second fasteners may be connected by generally rigid arms joined by an integral hinge and by at least one flexible tether capable of elongating and contracting. The hinged arms and tether provide multiple means to prevent the trim section from freely detaching from the vehicle body and becoming a projectile following deployment of an air bag from behind the trim panel. In addition, the rigid arms cause the trim panel to move in a controlled arc. A further aspect of the invention provides a tether that is capable of stretching to allow unimpeded air bag deployment followed by contracting to pull the trim panel back towards its original position on the vehicle body.

Abstract: A resilient clip is provided for engaging a dog house coupling feature of a trim component. The resilient clip has a mating member for engaging a hole defined in a body panel. The resilient clip includes a triangular mating feature that is positioned relative to the coupling region. The triangular mating feature contacts at least one surface of the dog house structure to minimize rotation of the resilient clip with respect the to the dog house. This reduces rotation of the resilient clip with respect to the hole defined in the body panel.

Abstract: A panel includes coupling elements arranged so that two panels an be connected to one another by a form-fit connection at the same time in a first direction perpendicular to the common joint and in a second direction parallel and perpendicular to the common surface of the panels. The panels may be used to provide a laminate flooring. The form-fit connection achieves greater security during assembly with reference to any enlargement of cracks and inaccuracies when laying parquet flooring. Laid parquet flooring elements no longer slip relative to one another even when subjected to relatively large stresses, thereby avoiding damage and the need for follow-on work. The coupling element is preferably designed as a separate synthetic material clip in the shape of the letter H.

  • Patent number: 6932552
Abstract: A fastener comprises an anchor and a central pin. The anchor has a top plate to which a central leg is connected. At the free end of the central leg are two anchor arms that extend up and outward from the free end, forming an arrowhead shape. Each anchor arm has an outwardly extending lip connected to its free end. The anchor arms are flexible and can flex inward as the anchor is placed through a hole in an item to be fastened. Connected to the top surface of the top plate is a push pin. Depressing the push pin breaks the connection areas to create a two-piece anchor from the single part. The push pin comprises a push button and a pin connected to the underside of the push button. The pin consists of a vertical post having a channel therein for accommodating the central leg of the anchor. Pushing the push button downward causes the anchor arms to be pushed outward and to anchor the fastener into the items to be fastened.
