Abstract: A clip comprising a first wall member and a second wall member is disclosed. A cross-section of the first wall member is defined by a first side wall, a second side wall and a connecting wall that is positioned between the first side wall and the second side wall. A cross-section of the second wall member is defined by a first end and a second end, wherein at least a portion of the first end is connected to a portion of the first side wall of the first wall member and wherein a second end is positioned between the first side wall and the second side wall and spaced away from an inner surface of the connecting wall. The first wall member and the second wall member cooperate to define a channel having a first portion and a second portion.

Abstract: A hook is attached to a carabineer via a mechanism which allows the hook to be deployed to function as a hook or stowed in a compact configuration. The combined carabineer-hook can be used to clip together more than one item or the hook can be deployed, the carabineer portion can be clipped to one item, the hook can be engaged with a surface, and the item can then be hung off of the hook. In addition, the hook can be deployed to hold one or more items while the carabineer is used to clip to another item (such as a ring, cable, rope, rail, etc.).

Abstract: A clip for use in a cable system for stretching a sheet across a surface and maintaining it under tension, the clip comprising a base plate and a top plate. The base plate has a pair of opposing retaining arms extending from the top surface and a recessed area defined in the base plate. The top plate has a hook protruding from the top surface having a channel defined therein. The top plate slides between the arms of the base plate and is removably retained therein and the plates engage the edge of a sheet. The hook removably engages a cable and the sheet is stretched when the cable is tensioned. The clip can be retained on the cable when a sheet is to be replaced by partially separating the two plates.

Abstract: A buckle attachment device is provided for removably securing a buckle and a strap to form a unified strap object, such as a belt. The buckle attachment device enables a user to select one of a wide variety of buckles to be coupled with one of a wide variety of straps that may be custom cut to a desired length. The selected buckle and strap are then removably secured by the user to the buckle attachment device without the need for specialized tools or additional binding components.

Abstract: An apparatus for one of substantially minimizing damage to and loss of earbuds when not in use. Such apparatus comprises an elongated member formed of a predetermined material and a loop member engageable with a first end of the elongated member for securing such earbud when such loop member is tightened over such earbud thereby securing it thereto. A crimp bead member is disposed intermediate such first end of such elongated member and such loop member, such crimp bead member capable of sliding so as to tighten the loop member and close the loop member over such earbud. A clip member is engageable with a second end of the elongated member for engagement with a preselected object for securing the elongated member having such loop member attached thereto with such earbud disposed therein to such preselected object. There is, further, a clasp member for securing the second end of the elongated member to the clip member.

Abstract: A locking clip for a cable tensioning system, comprising (i) a base plate having a top surface having a gripping portion, tensioning arms extending from the top surface, a cable retaining arm and posts extending from the bottom surface, and, at least one slot in the base plate; and, (ii) a tapering top member including a cable tensioning hook with a channel and extending from the top surface, and at least one nub extending from the bottom surface to slidingly engage the slot. The clip can hold a portion of a sheet between the base plate and the top member when the top member and the base plate are in an engaged relationship. The cable tensioning arm holds the cable and allows tension to be placed on the sheet. When the clip is disengaged from the sheet it can be temporarily attached to the cable by the cable retaining arm.

Abstract: A clip system for use with tarps and other flexible sheet material. The system includes first and second parts that are rotatably mounted so as to be free to twist independently of one another, in response to wind or other forces. The first part may be a clip body having jaws for gripping a tarp or other flexible sheet material, and the second part may be an attachment fitting for engaging an article separate from the tarp. There may be a series of different attachment fittings that are interchangeably mountable to the clip body, such as a hook, a screw-on fitting for attachment to a bottle that forms a weight, or a fitting for attachment of a strap or shock cord, for example. The two pieces may be joined by a male coupler and a female receptacle that receives the coupler in locking engagement. The male coupler may have a plurality of resiliently flexible legs with beveled end surfaces that flex inwardly to pass through the opening of the female receptacle.

Abstract: A clip for use in a cable tensioning system, comprising (i) a base plate comprising a generally flat base member having a top surface having a plurality of surface irregularities, a bottom surface, a front edge and a rear edge, and a pair of opposing tensioning arms extending from the top surface; and, (ii) a top plate comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, a front edge and a rear edge, a lip protruding from a top surface thereof having a channel defined therein, wherein the top plate is adapted to secure an edge of a substantially flat medium between the base plate and the top plate when the top plate and the bottom plate are in an engaged relationship, and wherein the channel can receive a portion of a cable.

Abstract: A rope tensioning device includes an elongated base having a first hooked end and a second hooked end, an anchor for anchoring the rope on the device, and a clamp. The clamp is adapted to grip the rope inserted into the device allowing it to be pulled in a tightening direction to tension the rope. The clamp is adapted to prevent the rope pulling in a reverse direction.

Abstract: A cord clip for fastening a cord attached to e.g. an earphone to an object such as a clothes is disclosed. The cord clip includes a clipping portion for clamping the object and a cord holding portion for holding the cord. The clipping portion is formed by a first annular portion having a discontinuity at a part thereof. The clipping portion is capable of clamping the object at a clamping portion thereof provided by a narrow gap formed by the discontinuity of the first annular portion by means of an elastic resilient force of the first annular portion. The cord holding portion is formed by a second annular portion having a discontinuity at a part thereof. The cord holding portion is capable of holding the cord therein by means of an elastic resilient force of the second annular portion. This elastic resilient force of the second annular portion is independent of that of the first annular portion. The first annular portion and the second annular portion are formed integrally in a single member.

Abstract: A connecting element for sheet piles has a cross-section the shape of which is reminiscent of a seahorse, insofar as it forms two hook bars (3, 4) having relatively large inner spaces (8, 14). The hook bars (3, 4) securely grasp the hook bars (21, 22) of adjoining sheet piles (24, 25), thereby enabling the connection of sheet piles at different angles.

Abstract: A cosmetic accessory clasp includes two or more clips for holding longitudinally extending articles. For example, the clasp accommodates both a lipstick barrel and a lip liner pencil. The clasp includes two or more open clips, such as an open clip having attached at the closed portion thereof a smaller clip adjacent to the larger clip. The larger lipstick barrel is inserted by the spring action of the larger clip and the lip liner pencil is insertable in the smaller clip adjacent to the larger clip. The clasp may hold other related longitudinally extending articles, such as eyebrow pencils and the like.

Abstract: A double clip is comprised of outer and middle jaws pivoted together about an outer axle and biased to a closed position by a first spring. A pivoted gripping member is pivoted to the distal end of the outer jaw. An inner jaw is pivoted to the middle jaw about an inner axle and biased to a closed position by a second spring. The clip is removably attached to clothing by clipping the clothing between the inner and middle jaws. An item to be carried is removably clipped between the outer and middle jaws. The pivoted gripping member is automatically maintained in a parallel relationship with the middle jaw, regardless of the thickness of the item.

Abstract: A file marker for marking the position of material removed from a file drawer or similar receptacle is disclosed. The file marker comprises a relatively flat body portion having a body side edge, a clip body extending from the body side edge, and a clip extending downwardly from the clip body and defining a gap adjacent to the body side edge for receiving a file rail. The clip is resiliently biased toward the body portion and is resiliently movable to adjust the size of the gap for receiving file rails of varying widths. The adjustable clip is particularly beneficial for accommodating the assorted types of file rails typically found in lateral files and file drawers in office furniture.

Abstract: A wearable multi-purpose clamp includes a substantially planar base hingedly connected to a movable jaw and carries a spring clip, an L-shaped lever and a ring support. The base, movable jaw and L-shaped lever together bear a loose resemblance to a clamp for use with suspenders (e.g., for attachment to the waist band of the pants). The base includes a base jaw, a base central aperture and has first and second opposing perpendicular journal tabs, each with a coaxial journal hole therethrough. The base also preferably includes first and second elongate raised salient features which are disposed substantially parallel to the base sidewalls and to one another and are spaced apart by a selected spacing defining a groove or trough therebetween.

Abstract: A tube and tube retainer applied to the base of a railroad rail and capable of being simply and quickly adjusted for the application of lubricant to the wheel/rail interface contact patch. The tube accepts a lubricant supply from an external source at one end and directs it to the appropriate area of the wheel/rail contact patch. Implementation may include a plurality of such tubes on one or both rails to improve effectiveness. The present invention reduces overall waste by applying smaller amounts of lubricant with each tube, but increasing the total amount of lubricant applied.

Abstract: A sheet clipping device of the invention is designed to detachably hold one or more sheets. The sheet clipping device is formed of an elongated base member, and a plurality of gripping devices fixed to the elongated base member at a predetermined distance away from each other along the longitudinal direction thereof. The elongated base member is formed of upper and lower portions with diagonal upper and lower guide members, and a back portion situated between the upper and lower portions. Distal ends of the upper and lower guide members are vertically spaced apart from each other. Each gripping device includes an upper frictional member fixed to the upper portion, and a lower frictional member fixed to the lower portion to face to each other. When the sheets are inserted between the upper and lower frictional members through the guide members, the sheets are frictionally retained between the frictional members. The sheets can be easily attached to or removed from the clipping device.

Abstract: A file for gripping sheets of the invention is formed of an elongated base member and a plurality of gripping devices attached to the base member. The base member is formed of upper and lower portions, a back portion situated between the upper and lower portions at a back side, and upper and lower guide members fixed to the upper and lower portions to face to each other at a front side. Each guide member diagonally extends toward the back portion. Each gripping device includes upper and lower frictional members with elasticity. The upper frictional member is fixed to the upper portion, and the lower frictional member is fixed to the lower portion to face to each other. When the sheets are inserted between the upper and lower portions, the sheets are guided by the guide members and are frictionally retained between the frictional members.

Abstract: A tube clip device, preferably having a one-piece construction and formed integrally of a resiliently flexible material, includes a flat base member having bar slot and stud slot attachment elements, a flat closure member having bar and stud attachment elements being complementary in shape to and interengageable with the bar slot and stud slot of the base member, a living hinge pivotally connecting the base and closure members together for pivotal movement between opened and closed positions relative to one another, and a clip element mounted on an outer side of the closure member for releasably clasping a flexible medical tube. Upon inserting the base and closure members over an edge of a garment and pivoting the members to the closed position, the bar slot and stud slot of the base member become releasably latched with the bar and stud of the closure member and with the garment edge therebetween, thereby attaching the medical tube clip device to the garment.

The wall device has an integral pivot apparatus and spring device to eliminate external parts. The wall device can be mounted to any vertical surface.

Abstract: A clasp is disclosed which includes two mating elongate jaw members that are pivotally connected together about a pivot axis such that the jaws of the members are longitudinally spaced from, but in abutting relationship with, each other. Each jaw member has a longitudinal recess in its inner surface, and is also provided with an inwardly depressed rib that defines a slot between the rib and the inner surface of the member and which mounts the front end of an arcuate elastic member such that the arcuate sections of the members bow outwardly and resiliently engage their respective jaw member in the recess.

The disclosed embodiment includes an outer planar element of generally C-shaped cross section forming channels engaging the upper and lower edges of the belt and a clip element secured to the inner surface of the planar element having means engaging the free upper edge of the garment.

Abstract: A closure member for a bag has a blade and a sheath. The sheath has side walls that are joined on inner edges and open on outer edges. The blade inserts between the side walls. A partition connects between the side walls near a locking end of the sheath. The partition has a shoulder. A retaining wall locates on the locking end of the sheath, spaced longitudinally from the partition. The blade has a locking member that will insert between the retaining wall and the partition. The locking member of the blade has a shoulder that snaps over the shoulder end of the retaining wall.

Abstract: A one-piece molded plastic clamp provided with a guiding lug for engaging a channel to prevent twisting of the arms of the clamp as they are compressed, while simultaneously enabling the clamp to be molded in a simple, clam-shell mold. The clamp includes a pair of parallel toothed members extending inwardly from one arm of the clamp and intended to engage a locking hook extending inwardly from the other of the arms. The teeth on the parallel toothed members are alternatingly spaced so that while the teeth are uniformly spaced within the plane of the clamp, they are staggered within a transverse plane so they unobstructedly face away from the plane of the clamp.

Abstract: A medical clamp (14) formed from a unitary, molded plastic strip (10) folded at its midpoint (12) into a generally "C" shape. Each leg (16, 18) has a base portion (20, 24) and an angled jaws portion (22, 26). A bar (42) extends from one base portion toward the other base portion (24), where, in the assembled clamp, it interengages another bar (44). Pincer members (28, 29) at the ends of the jaw portions have teeth (30) for securing the clamp to a sheet (35) or similar support surface on the operating table. One of the pincer members includes at its rear portion facing the midpoint of the strip, a wedge-like member (84), projecting substantially transverse to the leg. The other pincer member includes a ledge portion (86) acting as a stop surface adapted to received the wedge member in sliding interference fit as the jaws are closed. The interferece fit of the ledge portion and the wedge member limits the movement of one jaw relative to the other in a direction parallel to the legs, as the jaws are closed.

Abstract: A tube holder for hospital tubing comprises an elongated strip with opposing upper and lower faces formed as a plurality of side-by-side, open-ended sleeve like receptacles of varying enclosed cross-sectional area. In one embodiment, the strip is a spring metal piece with a reverse bend forming upper and lower legs with undulating surfaces formed in at least one of the legs, but preferably both of the legs, so that oppositely facing undulations on the upper and lower legs cooperate to form the spaced apart receptacles. Each receptacle has an entrance opening formed by a portion of the upper face being spaced from the lower face by a minimum distance. The entrance opening to each receptacle has a smaller dimension than the maximum dimension of its corresponding receptacle. Each receptacle is movable, say by prying apart the upper and lower legs to increase the spacing at the entrance openings for allowing tubing to slip sideways into any one of the receptacles.

Abstract: A droplight tool accessory which produces a universality of position for the droplight, resulting in full intensity of illumination and reflection of light in the direction toward point of work. The accessory comprises three flexible arms between two of which an opening is provided and through which the droplight's handle is inserted so as to be clamped by lines of support included in the arms. Means to hand and rotate the accessory are included, as well as spaced points of support to seat the accessory and clamped droplight on a support surface.

Abstract: Presented is a gripping device incorporating a "live" and integral resilient blade for normally retaining the two elongated levers of the gripping device spaced apart at one end and in gripping relationship at the opposite end. The gripping device also incorporates an auxiliary holding device to which an element may be secured for relative rotation in relation to the gripping device.

Abstract: An arrangement for supporting a limb wound bandage includes a waist belt and couplers extending from the belt to the bandage, each coupler including a pair of clamp jaws with confronting intermeshing ridges and valleys sandwiching and gripping the bandage upper border. Bands extend upwardly from each pair of jaws and are superimposed and joined at their tops and engage a connector which in turn directly or indirectly engages the belt. A locking slide member slidably engages the superimposed bands and includes depending tongues slidably engaging the clamp jaw outside faces to releasably lock the clamp jaws in closed position.

Abstract: A clamp for the detachable holding of web-shaped materials, comprising a spring steel clamping strip consisting of two downwardly extending legs having lower free ends and an intermediate section interconnecting said legs at upper ends thereof, a pull bar fastened at one end to the intermediate section and an elongated slide element defining a transverse groove through a portion of said element to define two arms and a longitudinal bore through the ungrooved portion, said bar passing slidingly through said bore and permitting said clamping strip to be completely drawn into said groove to create a bringing together of said legs, the distance between the two arms being less than the distance between the lower free ends of the legs when in an open position, the lower free ends of said legs being bent towards each other and serrated, the legs contacting said arms at only one point when in said groove.

Abstract: The specification discloses a refillable sanitary ice pack (10) for single patient use. The ice pack takes the form of a generally rectangular envelope (12) having two sides (14, 16), an open end (18) and a closed end (20). Two pairs of tie strings (22, 24) and (26, 28) extend from the open and closed ends, respectively. A bag (30) closed on three sides and having a throat (34) opening at the open end of the envelope is formed internally of the envelope for receiving and retaining ice. A funnel (38) dimensioned to conform with the divergence of the throat in the bag may be inserted into the throat for filling the bag. A closure member (50) is also provided for sealing the throat of the bag when the bag has been filled with ice.

Abstract: A suspension clip, particularly for the suspension filing of open-topped envelopes containing floppy discs for computers, comprises a hook member of U-shape having a transverse part from which extend two arms, one of which has on its outside a longitudinally extending groove, and a resiliently deflectable prong which is anchored at or adjacent said transverse part and extends along said groove. Thus, two clips can be used to suspend an envelope from two parallel rails of a suspension filing system.A suspension filing system which may be used with said clips comprises at least one rail for engagement by a clip, a retaining bar disposed above the level of and adjacent to and substantially parallel to said rail to prevent upwards dislodgment therefrom of a clip, and means mounting said bar so that it can be displaced to permit upwards removal of a clip from the rail.

Abstract: An external clamping device for high pressure inflatable air bags utilizes opposed bracket members. An engaging structure, such as a set of teeth designed to grip the material of the inflatable air bag without damaging it, is formed adjacent one end of each of the bracket members. A stepped shoulder is formed at the other end of each of the brackets, so that when the opposing brackets are brought together the stepped shoulders abut one another to preclude pivoting of the bracket members during tightening. Tightening of the bracket members to firmly grip the air bag is achieved by a bolt threaded into openings intermediate the ends of the bracket members. When the bracket members are joined together, a connecting hole is formed for attaching the clamping device to a positioning arrangement.

Abstract: The tamper-proof samples clamp of the invention includes a holder section that is foldable into a pair of substantially parallel spaced clamp elements having apertures which, when the clamp elements are in their parallel relationship, are in alignment. At least one pin element projects from one of the clamp elements and possesses sufficient stiffness such that it can penetrate the material of samples positioned between the clamp elements. Self-locking fasteners are provided that are dimensioned and configured for insertion through each set of aligned apertures for drawing and locking the clamp elements in clamping engagement with the samples therebetween. A hanger structure is connectable with the holder section for rotatably supporting same and the samples clamped between the clamp elements.
