The two pieces may be joined by a male coupler and a female receptacle that receives the coupler in locking engagement. The interferece fit of the ledge portion and the wedge member limits the movement of one jaw relative to the other in a direction parallel to the legs, as the jaws are closed.

The entrance opening to each receptacle has a smaller dimension than the maximum dimension of its corresponding receptacle. Each receptacle is movable, say by prying apart the upper and lower legs to increase the spacing at the entrance openings for allowing tubing to slip sideways into any one of the receptacles.

A stepped shoulder is formed at the other end of each of the brackets, so that when the opposing brackets are brought together the stepped shoulders abut one another to preclude pivoting of the bracket members during tightening. Tightening of the bracket members to firmly grip the air bag is achieved by a bolt threaded into openings intermediate the ends of the bracket members. When the bracket members are joined together, a connecting hole is formed for attaching the clamping device to a positioning arrangement.

    Abstract: The tamper-proof samples clamp of the invention includes a holder section that is foldable into a pair of substantially parallel spaced clamp elements having apertures which, when the clamp elements are in their parallel relationship, are in alignment. At least one pin element projects from one of the clamp elements and possesses sufficient stiffness such that it can penetrate the material of samples positioned between the clamp elements. Self-locking fasteners are provided that are dimensioned and configured for insertion through each set of aligned apertures for drawing and locking the clamp elements in clamping engagement with the samples therebetween. A hanger structure is connectable with the holder section for rotatably supporting same and the samples clamped between the clamp elements.
