  • Patent number: 4455720
Abstract: A clamping apparatus for clamping a group of cables, or the like, is formed of a plurality of clamp segments each formed to be movably connected to another segment on one or both ends of the segment. One or more elongated springs is attached through the connected clamp segments and each spring has each end attached to one of the segments so that the spring will bias the segments and allow the segments to be clamped around a bundle of cables, or the like, and to be snapped open for removing or changing the cables. The clamp segments can have one or more springs therein. One embodiment has a cable, cord or band attached to one end and extending around the segments and onto a spool for use in opening or closing the distal end portions of the clamping mechanism. The cord, cable or band may be aligned with eyes, guides or rollers attached to some of the segments.

  • Patent number: 4425681
Abstract: A steel band loop clamp is disclosed having a first end with a raised abutment and tangentially extending end portion, and a second end adapted for engagement against the raised abutment to hold the clamp in a prestressed open position. A closed circumferential slot terminates partially along the raised abutment and extends partially around the steel band loop, for accepting into engagement therewith the second end of the closed band loop when the clamp is engaged into a closure position.

  • Patent number: 4418448
Abstract: A hose clamp wherein a flexible metallic strap has a loop-shaped intermediate portion, an externally toothed first end portion which is overlapped by the intermediate portion and whose teeth mate with the internal teeth of the intermediate portion, and a second end portion whose free end is doubled over itself to form an L-shaped projection having an end face at the inner side of the second end portion. Such end face abuts against the complementary face of a protuberance which is formed on the second end portion by stamping or the like and extends beyond the inner side of the second end portion. The abutting faces greatly enhance the resistance which the projection of the second end portion offers to bending into the general plane of the second end portion during tensioning of the intermediate portion around a hose or the like.
