Closed By Gravity Or Weight Of Structure-to-be-secured Patents (Class 24/512)
  • Patent number: 7441313
Abstract: A spring clamp has a clamping mouth (1) with two clamping jaws (2) which can be spring-loaded toward one another by the force of a spring. The clamping jaws (2) are formed by arms (3) which are connected to one another in an articulated manner at one end. The other ends of the arms (3) which form actuating sections (4) can be moved toward one another in order to open the clamping mouth (1). The two abutting clamping jaws (2) together with the articulation pin (5) of the arms (3) define a reference plane (E). An angle bisector (G) between the two actuating sections (4) is inclined at approximately 90° to the reference plane (E). A hook may be provided at the actuating section (4).

  • Publication number: 20040103505
Abstract: A chain keeper for retaining a chain operatively connected to a driving mechanism of a chain hoist system. The chain keeper has a support bracket and a pair of plates. The support bracket is mountable onto a fixed structure, and has a substantially vertical longitudinal axis, and opposite top and bottom sections. Each plate has top and bottom portions. The plates project from the support bracket and are slanted with respect to the longitudinal axis thereof. The plates converge towards one another towards the bottom section of the support bracket, a slot being defined between peripheral edges of the plates at the bottom section of the support bracket. The slot is shaped and sized to slidably and removably receive therein a segment of the chain for retaining the same from substantial vertical movement along the longitudinal axis of the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 6276483
Abstract: A motor vehicle safety arrangement has a pedal mechanism with at least one bearing block and at least one pedal articulated thereon. The bearing block is held by a beam member which extends approximately over the width of the vehicle and is spaced from a bulkhead delimiting the passenger compartment. In order to prevent injury to feet on frontal impact, the beam member is resistant to bending and is uncoupled from the bulkhead. The distance between the member and bulkhead is dimensioned such that, in the event of intrusion of the bulkhead as a result of a collision, the position of the beam member does not vary substantially.

  • Patent number: 4707562
Abstract: A protection barrier is adapted to be placed on an insulator of a high voltage power pole to prevent a workman from contacting components of the pole when working on an energized conductor. A base plate of dielectric material is formed with a V-shaped slot and is placed on the insulator with the apex of the slot being located between adjacent skirts of a post type insulator. A pair of dielectric locking plates are pivotally mounted on the base plate and when in an open position permit the insulator to enter into the V-shaped slot and when in closed position lock the base plate on the insulator. The locking plates have aligned curved notches which form a generally circular-shaped opening when in closed position and which align with the apex of the V-shaped slot. Curved surfaces of the notches engage the insulator when the base plate is placed thereon to positively move the locking plates into clamping position about the insulator.

  • Patent number: 4682618
Abstract: An attaching assembly for attaching the canvas canopy of a camping trailer to the camping trailer body includes an extruded rail which is mounted on the top of the trailer body. The rail provides a first channel into which the lower edge of the canvas can be inserted and a second channel in which a latch is pivotally mounted. The bottom edge of the canvas is folded around a vinyl seal and secured thereto to provide the canvas with an enlarged hem, and when the hem of the canvas is inserted into the first channel of the rail, the latch can be pivoted to a latching position to prevent withdrawal of the hem from the rail.

  • Patent number: 4544324
Abstract: A mechanism for removably securing forks to a forklift truck and the like includes a hook shaped upper end for engaging a support shaft mounted on the forklift truck and a freely pivotal release mechanism attached to the shank of the fork having a first surface closely adjacent to the shaft on which the fork is mounted. The pivoting release mechanism precludes disengagement of the hook from the supporting shaft when the fork is in operating position. Upon pivotal movement of the fork about this supporting shaft the pivotally mounted release mechanism pivots under the effect of gravity to present a second surface adjacent to the supporting shaft thereby permitting disengagement of the fork from the shaft.
