Patent number: 11839250Abstract: A clothing cuff clip attachable to an article of clothing, especially a pants leg cuff, to gather and lift the clothing up from an adjacent surface and provide a modest barrier between the surface and the clothing item being worn. The clothing cuff clip is inexpensive to manufacture in large quantities and may be disposable after extended use. The clip is easy to attach to the lower back edge of the pants leg cuff on the item of clothing being worn and yet remains securely attached even after extended use. Optionally, a contamination indicator that changes in appearance when subjected to significant moisture, a change in pH, or the presence of a selected contaminant material, is positioned on the lower floor contact area of the clip to provide the wearer with an indication of when the clip, and therefore the item of clothing, has come into contact with contaminated materials.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Inventor: Daniel Sanchez

Publication number: 20120023716Abstract: A bi-directional releasable connector includes a connecting link defining a main tension leg and a pair of looped ends, the connecting link engaging a pair of spring-biased plungers axially movable independently of one another inside an outer housing. Axially outward movement of the plungers under the bias of the spring is limited by stops in the housing engaged by the plungers. Either end may be selectively opened and, in the static position with both ends closed, oppositely directed axial loads on the ends of the connector link are borne by the tension leg which is preferably made of steel or other high tensile strength material. Axial loads on the connector impose no loads or forces on the remaining components.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2010Publication date: February 2, 2012Applicant: The Worth CompanyInventor: Conrad Bluma

Patent number: 4899966Abstract: The invention is an improved clip for holding workpieces to racks during alodining, anodizing and/or painting operations. The clip is constructed of a torsion spring having a central coiled portion and laterally extending tines interconnected by the coil. The coil is biased so that the ends of the tines are normally forced toward each other for gripping a workpiece inbetween their ends. A handle is connected to the coil and extends laterally away therefrom. This may be rotated in a manner so as to oppose the coil's bias, thus causing the tines' ends to spread apart for releasing the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1988Date of Patent: February 13, 1990Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Thomas Antos, Jon Rosner, David J. Patent number: 4569105Abstract: A compact collar for securing weights to a barbell. The collar utilizes a spring coil, restrained against maximum tightening, thereby setting a minimum internal diameter of the coil. A pair of outwardly extending angularly displaced arms that can be moved towards each other to reduce the tightness of the coil, thereby increasing the internal diameter of the coil and permitting it to slip over the end of a barbell. Once in place, the release of the arms, allows the natural spring tendency to tighten the coil and grip the barbell, thus holding the weights in place.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1981Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Assignee: Weider Health & FitnessInventor: Joseph Weider

Patent number: 4486010Abstract: The jig of this invention holds a radial array of separate materials together so that they can be glued, welded, or otherwise secured together. The jig is then removed. A plurality of fingers are pivoted to a common support, and elastic means are used to urge the fingers together to tightly grip the radial array of materials to be held. The finger surfaces are angular to correspond to the angle of the materials to be held and for a cross shaped array of materials, the finger surfaces are at 90.degree. to each other. The fingers have shanks that project beyond the hinge or pivot point and these projecting shanks may be used to open up the fingers by manually grasping the projecting shanks and thereby overcoming the elastic means which normally urges the fingers together.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1980Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Inventor: Edward T. Patent number: 4457360Abstract: The disclosure relates to a heat sink used to protect integrated circuits from the heat resulting from soldering them to circuit boards. A tubular housing contains a slidable member which engages somewhat inwardly extending connecting rods, each of which is rotatably attached at one end to the bottom of the housing. The other end of each rod is fastened to an expandable coil spring loop. As the member is pushed downward in the housing, its bottom edge engages and forces outward the connecting rods, thereby expanding the spring so that it will fit over an integrated circuit. After the device is in place, the member is slid upward and the spring contracts about the leads of the integrated circuit. Soldering is now conducted and the spring absorbs excess heat therefrom to protect the integrated circuit. The placement steps are repeated in reverse order to remove the heat sink for use again.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1982Date of Patent: July 3, 1984Assignee: The Regents of the University of CaliforniaInventor: Lars D.
