Abstract: A food processor includes a base, a container having a side wall and an open end including a rim, and a lid for engaging the open end of the container in an operating position and a storage position. The lid has a top wall with a first and second principal surface, an annular ledge with a first and second side, and a food chute extending from the first principal surface generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the top wall. The food chute has a length and extends away from the container with the second side of the annular ledge contacting the rim of the container when the lid is in the operating position. When the lid is in the storage position, the food chute extends into an interior of the container with the first side of the annular ledge contacting the rim of the container.
Abstract: Apparatus for creating wooden shavings for stock bedding from logs which includes a frame supporting a carriage bed and rotary carriage ring. Arcuately spaced rotary cutter means are provided on the carriage bed, and are positioned to contact logs supported on the carriage ring. The carriage ring consists of an annular carriage support ring which supports arcuately spaced log-receiving boxes, so that upon rotation of the annular carriage support ring, logs positioned within the log-receiving boxes are exposed to the cutting action of the rotary cutter means.
Abstract: A size-reduction apparatus, especially for twigs and branches of trees and shrubbery is disclosed. The apparatus is provided with a loading chute, a chopping chamber having a chopping blade which rotates about a vertical axis, a shredding chamber having a cutting blade which rotates about a vertical axis, a feed tube which opens into the shredding chamber, a drive motor, and a respective discharge chute or conduit for each of the shredding and chopping chambers. The chopping blade and the cutting blade are driven separately by a respective shaft, and the chopping chamber and the shredding chamber are disposed next to one another.

Abstract: A method and a device for the manufacture of mechanical pulp from lignocellulosic material by forcing the said material into contact with a grinding disc (1) which revolves about a central axle (2) perpendicular to the two end faces of the disc. The material is supplied in bulk, particulate form, preferably as wood chips, a large number of particles simultaneously being retained, compressed and, in the presence of water, forced into contact with one or more grinding areas (5) on one or both end faces of the grinding disc. The disc is enclosed in a sealed, pressurized housing (6).
Abstract: A method and a device for the manufacture of mechanical pulp from lignocellulosic material by forcing the said material into contact with a grindstone (1) which revolves about an axle (2). The material is supplied in bulk, particulate form, preferably as wood chip, a large number of particles simultaneously being retained, compressed and, in the presence of water, forced into contact with one or more grinding areas on the circumferential surface of the grindstone (1). The grindstone(1) is enclosed in a sealed, pressurized housing (5).
Abstract: Granulation of materials, particularly materials in stranded form, employing a rotatable cutter with multiple feed channels at different elevational positions along the periphery of the cutter. The granules of the feed material formed by the cutter are collected without further, unwanted cutting by using a separate, pressurizable discharge channel for each feed channel or by providing voids in the cutter through which the granules can fall, desirably with the assistance of feed channel applied pressure.
