  • Publication number: 20110155832
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of the acceleration of material, in particular a stream of granular or particulate material, with the aid of centrifugal force, with, in particular, the aim of causing the accelerated grains or particles to collide with an impact member at such a velocity that they are crushed, and involves at least one sliding member (2) that is pivotly attached and centrifugally locked to the rotor (1) only along the side of the sliding member that is facing the rotor such that the attachment members (8,9) are located at a position essentially below the plane (22) with on it the outer edge (12) of the centre face (5). This has the advantage that the wear material is more effectively used such that less throw-away material remains, more sliding members can be placed on the rotor, a longer operation time is achieved, attachment members are not damaged when the sliding member wears through and that replacement is easier and special securing can be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20100155512
Abstract: A gyratory crusher includes a crushing head on which a first crushing shell is mounted, and a frame on which a second crushing shell is mounted. The crusher has a thrust bearing which is made up of horizontal bearing plates and which is located between a vertical shaft and a piston arranged vertically below the vertical shaft. The crusher further has a first space, which is adapted to receive a variable amount of pressurized liquid, the first space being defined by the piston and a piston housing formed in the frame, and a second space which is adapted to receive, by way of a duct, pressurized liquid from the first space, the second space being located between the vertical shaft and the piston and at least partly accommodated in an opening in at least one of the bearing plates. The first space and the second space are adapted, by the liquid, to transmit forces from the crushing head to the piston housing, in order that the load on the thrust bearing is relieved.

  • Patent number: 7364103
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the alignment and location of a sample (7), such as pills or tablets, for carrying out a further method step, such as a hardness test, with the aid of two opposing jaws (2, 3, 21), which may be moved relative to each other, the movable compression jaw (2) of which displaces the sample (7) along a guide track on to the fixed counter-jaw (3, 21), in order to begin the further method step with the sample (7). The forward movement of the movable compressing jaw (2), along with the sample (7) towards the fixed counter-jaw (3, 21) is continuously interrupted, the compressing jaw (2) being drawn backwards and driven forwards, such that the sample oscillates about the rest position thereof and then the compressing jaw (2) continues the movement towards the counter-jaw (3, 21) until the sample (7) reaches said counter-jaw (21).

  • Patent number: 4418872
Abstract: A feeder/crusher machine for use in underground coal or ore mines for receiving and crushing mined material and feeding the crushed product to a stationary conveyor in the mine material transport system. It comprises a tramming unit supporting a feeding and crushing unit having an elongated body with a crushing section located intermediate receiving and discharge sections at opposite ends of the body. A conveyor has an upper, carrying run movable through the crushing section in a horizontal plane. A pair of breaker drums are mounted immediately above the conveyor in the crushing section and are rotatable about transversely spaced, parallel vertical axes. Because the breaker drums are rotatable about vertical axes, teeth on their peripheries move horizontally, parallel to the plane of the conveyor carrying run. Further, the teeth move in the same direction as the conveyor at the location between the drums where crushing occurs.

  • Patent number: 4249702
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting clustered produce stalks. The apparatus includes a cylindrical produce-receiving chamber which is mounted for rotation about a first axis, and a cylindrical blade carrier which is mounted outside of, and adjacent the produce-receiving chamber for rotation about a second axis offset from, and substantially parallel to the first axis. A plurality of blades mounted on the carrier extend radially through suitable blade-receiving apertures in the produce-receiving chamber. Further included is a powered shaft for rotating the chamber and the carrier at the same speed, with such rotating producing generally radially directed, recurrent reciprocation of each blade relative to its associated aperture. In operation, produce stems and stalks become captured in notches formed in the blades, and are drawn against the inner surface of the produce-receiving chamber and cut as the reciprocating blades retract through associated apertures.
