Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for reducing the size of a hygroscopic material while simultaneously drying the material at a relatively low temperature to a predetermined value during the reduction process. The present invention utilizes a preconditioning make-up air system to significantly dehumidify the make-up air to values in the range of 0.02 grains per pound of dry air while limiting the temperature of the make-up air exiting the preconditioning make-up air system to below a predetermined critical value. While not limited in its application to any one particular hygroscopic material, the present invention is particularly adapted to uses where the product is a temperature-sensitive, water adsorbing material such as sodium sesquicarbonate or trona ore.

Abstract: A hand-held electric cheese grinder includes a body having a cheese grinder cylinder rotatably mounted within a chamber of the body and driven by a motor through a transmission mechanism the motor and transmission mechanism are operatively mounted inside the grinding cylinder so that a relative spatial room is provided above the grinder cylinder in the chamber to contain a cheese block to be ground. The cheese block is pressed down against the grinder cylinder by a plunger extending from a cover mounted to the top of the body. A base is preferably provided to support the body when not in operation. The base includes a changer for recharging batteries in the body and a cooling device to maintain a relatively low temperature in the chamber of the body.

  • Patent number: 7152820
Abstract: An asphalt heating and drying device for recycling or repairing asphalt. Nuggets of waste asphalt are inserted into a heat chamber that has a plurality of heat tubes that carry hot air into the chamber and adjacent to the waste asphalt nuggets. The heat chamber has a “live floor” with controllable spinning rotors which have forward reaching teeth. The spinning rotors pull the asphalt from the heat chamber into a lower chamber having two horizontal spiral augers. The augers mix the asphalt nuggets and the lower chamber heats the asphalt nuggets to their ultimate delivery temperature. The hot dry asphalt is then expelled from the device.

Abstract: A disc mill assembly for a pulverizing system includes: a flywheel, a water jacket, two disc blades, and two ring clamps. In alternate embodiments, the disc mill assembly also includes: an air inlet to provide input air from an external air supply and an improved blade height adjustment mechanism. A disc blade is also provided. The disc blade is a single member with a central aperture that is the only through hole in the blade. Users may cost-effectively adopt a disposal versus sharpening policy for replacement of the disc blade. A method for controlling a temperature of material in a disc mill assembly having first and second disc blades is provided. The method includes: directing an adjustable input air stream, directing material to be ground, monitoring the temperature of the material, and controlling the air stream directing and/or the material directing in response to the temperature monitoring.

  • Patent number: 7048214
Abstract: It has been said that the wheel is the greatest invention of all time; when horses or oxen pulled wagons, dirt roads or no roads sufficed, but the wheels of modern transportation require paved roads for cars and trucks, concrete air strips for airplanes, ballast for railroads, concrete for dams, buildings, and many other things. Rock is the material that answers all these needs, but rock must be crushed to usable sizes. Big boulders or quarried rock are crushed by primary stage jaw or very large gyratory crushers that reduces the rock to sizes that second stage crushers can accept, and if the rock needs to be very small a third stage is used. Cone crushers are the crushers of choice for second and often for third stage crushing which is the type crusher of this patent application.
