With Brake For Holder And/or Strand Patents (Class 242/129.8)
  • Patent number: 10683187
Abstract: A mobile electrical cable distribution assembly provides a mobile cart that supports multiple spools at a slope, creating a tiered arrangement of spools for easier access and distribution of the electrical cables rolled thereon. The mobility of the cart enables the electrical cables to be positioned for drawing and spooling. The sloped arrangement of the spools allows for facilitated access to the ends of the electrical cable for drawing and spooling the electrical cable. The spools are configured to carry, draw, and spool the electrical cables directly from the cart. The assembly also provides multiple interchangeable conveyor rollers to carry the spools. The conveyor rollers comprise a shaft, antifriction ball bearings, and an outer cylinder race for drawing and spooling the electrical cable about the spool. The conveyor roller also has springs between the outer cylinder race and the shaft, creating spring returned mounting for facilitated access to the ball bearings.

  • Patent number: 10589885
Abstract: A film roll supporting device comprises a shaft body part, a shaft tip part, and a projection part. The shaft body part extends through a central hole of a film roll and having the film roll mounted thereon. The shaft tip part extends in an axis direction of a shaft from one end of the shaft body part on a side to be inserted into the central hole of the film roll. The projection part extends in a direction intersecting the axis direction of the shaft body part from the shaft tip part. The projection part abuts from below to a core of the film roll provisionally placed on the shaft tip part when the mounting of the film roll is performed. A cutout recessed in a direction intersecting the axis direction of the shaft body part is formed in the projection part.

  • Patent number: 10287129
Abstract: A spool holder includes a cylinder defining a longitudinal axis and having an external surface on which a spool of wire may be supported. A first plate is positioned at a first end of the cylinder and a second plate is positioned at a second end of the cylinder. Both first and second plates have portions extending radially outward from the external surface of the cylinder. The first and second plates both have a perpendicular orientation relative to the longitudinal axis. The first and second plates restrict axial movement of the spool of wire therebetween. The first plate and cylinder are stationary relative to a mounting structure, while the second plate is configured to rotate with the spool of wire. A mechanism urges the second plate and, thus, the spool of wire toward the first plate, thereby regulating rotation of the spool of wire.

  • Patent number: 8336801
Abstract: An anti-rotation system that prevents undesired rotation of an outer flange of a strap dispenser includes an anti-rotation element mounted to a shaft of the dispenser and the outer flange mounted to the anti-rotation element. The anti-rotation element and the outer flange have complementary mating surfaces such that when the shaft, on which the coil rotates, ceases rotation, the anti-rotation element, engaged with the outer flange, ceases rotation of the outer flange; thus, inertia of the coil cannot force the outer flange to rotate undesireably. A locking element abuts the outer flange to secure the flange to the anti-rotation element and a pin extends out from the shaft and inserts into a helical track in the locking element so that the pin rides in the helical track. The anti-rotation element also includes a through-bore for a fastener to secure the anti-rotation element to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7124674
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective spool dispenser that is portable, efficient and convenient for dispensing line. The dispenser has four corner members and upper and lower sidebars, forming a box-like outer frame. A crossbar extends between two adjacent corner members. A spool-receiving arm extends from the crossbar. The end of the spool-receiving arm opposite the crossbar is unsecured, so that a spool of line may be easily slid onto the arm. The arm includes a tensioning spring, two washers and a fastening pin. The spool is sandwiched between the two washers. Free spinning is prevented due to the tensioning spring. The disclosed dispenser also preferably includes a cutter mechanism for cutting line to desired lengths.

  • Patent number: 6467511
Abstract: A mechanism to automatically control tension of supplemental yarns added to a weaving or knitting machine has a pivotal control arm, one end of which is influenced by the tension of the yarn being controlled, while a counteracting force is applied to another end of the arm. The movement of the arm is used to modulate and adjust a braking device acting against the yarn holding spool to keep the tension of the yarn substantially uniform over time as the diameter of the yarn wound on the storage spool changes.

  • Patent number: 6409116
Abstract: A wire tensioning device for maintaining tension on a moving wire, especially a wire that is uncoiled over the axial end of a fixed spool of wire. The tensioning device includes a disk mounted at an axial end of a spool of wire. The disk has a plurality of radially extending resistant filaments that protrude beyond the periphery of the axial end of the spool of wire. The filaments engage the wire as it is unwound from the spool over the axial end thereof to apply a resistance to the uncoiling of the wire. A drive shaft powered by a reversible electric motor connects to the disk which motor rapidly responds to changes in resistance applied to the uncoiling wire by the bending or unbending of the filaments. An arm is engaged by the uncoiling wire. The arm is connected to a rotatably mounted axle for movement in a limited arc. A rotor is formed on the axle with the rotor having a lobe. A pair of proximity switches for operating the reversible electric motor in opposite directions of rotation are provided.
