Winding Drum Details Patents (Class 242/366)
  • Patent number: 10584019
Abstract: A rope drum for drawing and releasing a rope under tensile stress. Support segments are arranged to provide a number of grip sections for supporting the rope through the grip sections as a continuous spiral surrounding the rotated drum part by at least two rounds so that, when the drum part is rotated, a number of grip sections move due to the guidance of the support segments along the drum part depending on the rotation direction of the drum part towards the first end of the drum part or towards the second end. Prevention grooves or ridges together with the support segments restrict the movement of the grip sections supporting the rope on the drum part with regard to the drum part in the direction of the perimeter to a maximum that is defined by the mutual geometry of the prevention grooves or ridges and the support means.

  • Patent number: 8196286
Abstract: A coil-holding assembly for an electrical machine has coil holders made of plastic and on which coils of a stator can be wound. The coil holders are formed and pivotal on an outer edge of a planar central plastic support by integral film hinges between a winding position parallel to a plane of the support and a bent-up position perpendicular to the plane. • Patent number: 7891082
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coil assembly unit comprises steps of coil forming, weaving, compressing steps. In the forming step, each coil wire is formed which provides linear portions and turn portions each connecting linear portions, during which bent portions are formed at both ends of each linear portion, the bent portions being bent so that mutually adjacent linear portions are deviated from each other. In the weaving step, the coil wires are mutually woven in turn, in which the turn portions intersect in turn. All the coil wires are subjected to the weaving step in turn to produce a woven coil assembly. In the compressing step, the woven coil assembly is compressed by compressing the woven coil so that each bent portion is deformed to be linear to allow the mutually adjacent linear portions to come closer to each other, thus producing the coil assembly unit.

  • Patent number: 6568620
Abstract: A yarn feeder has a yarn feed wheel, which preferably comprises ceramic or is coated with a corresponding material. The yarn feed wheel, because of the choice of its material or its shaping, has improved long-term operation properties. The geometry and/or the material has low susceptibility to wear. This is attained by means of ceramic surfaces and/or the combination of a conical, continuous yarn inlet surface with adjoining striplike bearing faces in the yarn storage region and a continuous, that is, uninterrupted surface in the yarn payout region; the surfaces are shaped such that the yarn, along its way from the inlet region into the payout region, sweeps over the corresponding surfaces over the entire axial course. The striplike supporting or bearing of the yarn in the yarn storage region is attained by suitable shaping of the yarn feed wheel in the yarn storage region. Openings or slits or the like in the yarn feed wheel are not necessary but may be provided.

  • Patent number: 6471190
Abstract: A capstan winch includes a reel assembly comprising a reel, which rotates, and two generally annular floating flanges which are supported so that the planes in which they rotate converge toward one another, which has the effect of creating an apparent axial movement of the flanges with respect to the reel as they rotate together. The cylindrical surface of the reel is provided with alternating lands and grooves and floating flanges have formed on them alternating inclined faces which correspond with the lands and the grooves. The inclined faces are angled so that the faces which correspond to each land on the reel are generally parallel to one another. The inclined faces which correspond to each groove converge. Consequently, substantial lateral forces are exerted on a cable being wound onto the reel only when the cable overlies the grooves and frictional forces on the cable are minimized.

  • Patent number: 6079656
Abstract: A yarn supply apparatus for elastic yarns in knitting machines having abruptly fluctuating yarn consumption. A yarn wheel, around which the yarn to be supplied is wrapped, furnishes the yarn to a yarn store located between a knitting station and the yarn wheel. A closed-loop controller responsive to yarn tension operates the yarn wheel via a low-inertia drive motor. The yarn store is embodied as an essentially straight segment of yarn in the yarn path in which yarn is guided so it can expand freely. The combination of a low-inertia drive motor, a yarn store that utilizes the intrinsic elasticity of the yarn, and a closed-loop controller that monitors the yarn tension by means of a sensor device makes it possible to use the yarn supply apparatus for supplying elastic yarns and to keep the yarn tension essentially constant even when the demand for yarn fluctuates abruptly.
