  • Patent number: 9169594
Abstract: An indoor retractable fire extinguishing apparatus may include a portable fireproof casing adapted to be positioned inside the building structure. A spool may be rotatably situated inside the fireproof casing. A fire hose may be rolled up about the spool. A plurality of stabilizing plates may be statically mounted to the fireproof casing. A handle may be attached to the spool in such a manner that the handle and the spool may rotate in sync and thereby cause the fire hose to wind and unwind from the spool respectively while the stabilizing plates remain stationary exterior of the fireproof casing. The stabilizing plates may further be directly attached to an outer surface of the fireproof casing such that operating forces acting on the handle and the spool are absorbed and distributed along the stabilizing plates thereby maintaining the fireproof casing at a substantially stable position during winding and unwinding operations.

Abstract: The object of invention is a dual self-winding retractable device for headphone cords, designed in particular for thinner, more delicate cords, and especially adapted for cords of mobile phone headsets, cords of iPod headphones, etc. As invented, the dual self-winding retractable device has two independently moving winding reels (1, 1?) with gearing, whereby each one carries a part of the headphone cord. The winding reels (1, 1?) are housed by a housing case, which consists of two housing lids (2, 2?). A reliable contact is ensured between the two contact discs (7, 7?) which provide electrical contact between both free ends of the headphone cord. Controlled winding/unwinding of each individual part of the headphone cords in enabled through a system of two spiral torsion springs (4, 4?), two buttons (5, 5?) with gearing or two buttons with related retraction (9,9?) and a special spring (8,8?) and two compression springs (6, 6?).

The speed reduction gear wheel is in mesh with a transmission gear wheel of a reel for coiling a measuring tape such that the rotational speed of the reel when retrieving the extended tape is retarded thereby preventing the danger of scratching the user's finger or damaging the tape itself by abrasion or impingement. Engagement of the speed reduction gear wheel and the transmission gear wheel can be released by operating a flat pusher plate provided on the housing.

Abstract: Tape rule brake mechanism consists of a brake device and a positioning member. The rim of the reel on which a measuring tape being coiled around is provided with at least one trammeling block accompanied with a confinement slot. When the brake machanism is actuated, a detent formed at the tip of the brake device drops into the confinement slot and halt the reel rotation by mating with the trammeling block of the reel so as to indirectly stop motion of the tape coiled on the reel. The tape is stably fixed at the position without slipping away by secure engagement of the positioning member with the detent of the brake device. The reset action of the brake device is assisted by the restoring force of a compressed spring.
