Compound Leverage Mechanism Patents (Class 242/421.9)
  • Patent number: 9907706
Abstract: The present invention provides machinery used to create products (for instance disposable products). The machinery is operated at high speed, with the machine occupying a small footprint. Materials can be fed into the manufacturing process vertically (from above or below), using assembly stations to feed completed components into the system at appropriate stations. Additionally, restocking of raw components can be accomplished by robotic means of transferring the raw material from staging areas into infeeding or splicing stations, without the need for human operators.

  • Patent number: 9328263
Abstract: A process for production of a crosswound long roll of an at least single-side-adhesive adhesive tape in which at least one adhesive side of the adhesive tape has been covered with a liner, in the form of an Archimedean spiral. The process releasably fixes a core on an axle, wherein the adhesive tape covered with the liner is wound on to the core, contacts a pressure roll with a curved surface of the core or with the adhesive tape which has been covered with the liner and already wound on the core, in such a way as to give a nip between pressure roll and curved surface of the core or adhesive tape covered with the liner, where core and pressure roll rotate in opposite directions. Further, the process unwinding the liner from a liner roll, places the liner on to the at least one open adhesive side of the adhesive tape which is guided on the pressure roll in the direction of the nip, and guides a laminate made of adhesive tape and liner on the pressure roll into the nip.

  • Patent number: 9315352
Abstract: A rolled material dispenser includes a brake mechanism designed to govern the rolling of a roll of packing material during dispensing of the packing material to reduce unintended tearing of the packing material and improve the user experience of handling such material dispensing. In one example, the brake mechanism includes a first portion configured to engage the roll during normal unloading of material from the roll and a second portion configured to engage the roll to impede rotation of the roll when unloading of material is uneven. An idler roller engages the material being dispensed, which idler roller may be resiliently supported to absorb forces on the material.

  • Patent number: 7883047
Abstract: A tension adjustment structure for fabric winding machine includes a driving mechanism, a roller, a fabric pressing mechanism and an adjustment mechanism. The roller and the driving mechanism have corresponding transmission wheels strode by a belt. The driving mechanism drives the roller to roll up a fabric. The fabric pressing mechanism has an action arm and a fabric pressing bar located on the action arm. The fabric pressing bar has a first position without in contact with the fabric and a second position in contact with the fabric and lifted by the fabric. The adjustment mechanism is butted by the action arm when the fabric pressing bar is at the first position to butt the belt and increase initial rolling force of the roller. The action arm releases the belt while the fabric pressing bar is at the second position so that fabric rolling tightness can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 7322541
Abstract: Various embodiments of an apparatus and method for dispensing elongated material, such as tape, from a spool of such material are disclosed. In one embodiment, a dispenser includes a rotatable spindle for supporting a first spool of material and a feedback mechanism for providing a controlled braking force to the spindle in response to changes in tension in the material being dispensed. The dispenser also can include another spindle for supporting a second spool of material. The trailing end portion of material from the first spool can be spliced to the leading end portion of material from the second spool to provide a continuous feed of material between the spools.

  • Patent number: 7104493
Abstract: Various embodiments of an apparatus and method for dispensing elongated material, such as tape, from a spool or roll of such material are disclosed. In one embodiment, a dispenser includes a rotatable spindle for supporting the roll of material and a brake assembly operable to provide a braking force to the spindle. The brake assembly desirably includes a rotor coupled to the spindle and a caliper configured to apply a braking force to the rotor, thereby slowing or preventing rotation of the spindle. The spindle can include at least one roll retainer projecting radially outwardly from the spindle. The roll retainer is configured to frictionally engage an inner surface of a core of the roll to prevent movement of the roll relative to the spindle when material is being dispensed from the roll, yet allow an operator to remove the core from the spindle.

  • Patent number: 6435445
Abstract: A self-compensating tension control device for regulating the payout of filamentary material from a spool includes a fixed support and a spindle assembly pivotably mounted to the fixed support, wherein the spindle assembly rotatably carries the spool of filamentary material. A pull-off force imparted by the filamentary material causes angular movement of the spindle assembly and rotation of the spool. A braking assembly mounted to the fixed support and coupled to the spindle assembly applies a braking force corresponding to an angular position of the spindle assembly.
