Coaxial With Coil Patents (Class 242/423.1)
  • Patent number: 6547176
Abstract: A controller for controlling the dispensing of wire from a reel of wire positioned within a container. The wire is dispensed from one end of the reel with the other end of the reel sitting on the bottom of the container. The controller has a main body member in the shape of a flat ring sized to rest within the container on the one end of the reel, the ring having concentric, circular, inner and outer edges. Flexible, wire guide flaps are on the inner edge of the ring, the guide flaps extending radially inwardly. Each guide flap has the general shape of a shallow triangle with the apex of the triangle farthest from the ring and the base of the triangle adjacent and integral with the ring.

  • Patent number: 6478246
Abstract: A base has a horizontal top face with an aperture, a bottom face, a central vertical support with projections extending from each end. The projection of the bottom end is coupled with the central aperture of the base. A knob assembly has a lower portion with guide posts, a braking section and a downwardly projecting member with a recess with grooves. Between the upper and lower portions is a coil spring.

  • Patent number: 6474584
Abstract: A spring-loaded bobbin for use in tying fly fishing lures has a simple frame carrying a support mechanism having a centered bearing by which an off-the-shelf spool of tying thread is rotatably mounted. The frame carries a thread guide tube that is centered on and extends at rightangles to the spool axis, to receive and deliver the thread. The spool support mechanism includes a coil spring that is tensioned upon the withdrawal of thread from off the spool, so that, on release of the thread by the user, the spool is reverse wound by the tensioned spring, to take up the slack in the thread.

  • Patent number: 6422357
Abstract: A braking apparatus for imparting constant mechanical torque to effect a braking action is capable of operating in a constant, smooth, and adjustable manner, yet operates essentially independent of friction and temperature, as well as independent of rotational speed. The braking apparatus includes a hub assembly having a hub, a collar, a plurality of torsional springs, a spring cap, a spring bushing, and damping means, and a sprocket assembly having a sprocket, a hub bearing, a retaining ring, and a plurality of roller assemblies each of which has a roller. The sprocket assembly is rotatably connected to the hub assembly by a hub assembly spring, a sprocket assembly spring, an adjustment cap, and an adjustment means. The apparatus provides braking by releasably contacting at least one of each of the rollers with at least one of each of the torsional springs so as to deflect and then release the torsional spring as the sprocket assembly rotates about the hub assembly.

  • Patent number: 6357686
Abstract: A roll of a recording paper is rotatably contained in a paper magazine. The magazine is provided with a mouth through which the recording paper is drawn out and fed to a printer. A leading edge of the recording paper, is adapted to come into contact with an outer periphery of the roll by a contacting device. The remainder of the roll is indicated by an indicating device. The mouth of the magazine is opened and closed with a shutter unit. The inside of the magazine tightly closed with the shutter unit is kept at constant humidity by a humidity conditioning paper. On the other hand, the roll is caught between a pair of flanges. One of the flanges is biased by plate springs toward the other of the flanges so that the roll is held in the magazine without looseness.

  • Publication number: 20010006202
Abstract: A roll holder device is for use with a recording paper roll including a tubular spool shaft and continuous recording paper wound about the tubular spool shaft in a roll form. In the roll holder device, first and second holder cores are inserted in respectively first and second ends of the tubular spool shaft. A holder frame supports the first and second holder cores in a rotatable manner. Anti-dropping levers prevent the tubular spool shaft from dropping from the first and second holder cores by pushing a shaft inner surface of the tubular spool shaft.

  • Patent number: 6199791
Abstract: The invention proposes a dispenser for a web wound into a coreless roll, the roll (11) being mounted on an irrotational, substantially cylindrical support spindle (14), the web in this dispenser being dispensed by rotationally unwinding the roll (11) around the axis (A1) of the support spindle (14), characterized in that the support spindle (14) includes means (46, 48, 50, 52) axially locking the roll (11) and in that the spindle (14) bears means (36, 50, 52) for decelerating the roll (11) being unwound.
