  • Patent number: 6457668
Abstract: An apparatus and method for guiding and cutting a continuously advancing yarn (1) during a package doff in a takeup device. The yarn is guided by means of a yarn guide (18) which is movable substantially parallel to a package or to a new tube (13), which is driven by a drive roll (29). Downstream of the yarn guide (18), a deflection device (2) and a suction device (37) are arranged, with the suction device comprising a pneumatic vacuum connection (46) and a cutter (47). The suction device (37) cooperates with a transfer device (42) for purposes of cutting the yarn during a package doff and receiving the loose end of the advancing yarn. To enable a gentle processing of the yarn during the package doff, the yarn guide (18) is arranged in the path of the advancing yarn upstream of the driven tube (13), and a deflection device (2) as well as the suction device (37) are arranged downstream of the driven tube.

  • Patent number: 6375114
Abstract: During the service of a workstation of a textile machine, a thread, presented to a spool apparatus, is captured by a capture mechanism coordinated with the spool apparatus and conducted to a thread cutting device to be cut through. The thread cutting device is coordinated with a cleaning apparatus, with the help of which the thread cutting device at specified intervals, and/or in dependency of the carrying out of assigned work phases is subjected to cleaning.

  • Patent number: 6328247
Abstract: A cheese-producing textile machine (1), having a central control unit (37), a plurality of work stations (2), and a service unit (23), which automatically supplies the work stations (2). The work stations (2) each have a winding device with a winding drum (17), which is individually driven by a motor, and a work station computer (39). The central control unit (37) is connected via a machine bus (40) with the work station computers (39) and with a control device (39) of the service unit (23). Specific winding drum data (x, y), in particular the number of traverses (g) of the winding drum (17) of the work stations (2), are stored in a memory, e.g., integrated in the central control unit (37). During the yarn pickup by means of the yarn lifter (41) of the service unit (23) in the course of a cheese change, the individual electric motor drive (50) of the winding drum (17) is controlled to match the number of revolutions of the winding drum (17) to the number of traverses (g) thereof.

  • Patent number: 6315236
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for guiding and cutting a continuously advancing yarn during a package doff in a takeup device. In this connection, a movable yarn guide guides the yarn substantially parallel to a package or a winding tube, which is driven by a drive roll. The yarn guide is followed by a suction device, which consists of a pneumatic suction inlet end and a cutting device. The suction device cooperates with a transfer device for purposes of cutting the yarn during the package doff and receiving the loose end of the advancing yarn. To protect the yarn during the package doff, the yarn guide extends in the yarn path upstream of the driven tube, and the suction device downstream thereof.

  • Patent number: 6193185
Abstract: An automatic cord winder for steel cord braiding machines is disclosed. The winder automatically and continuously drives a spool assembly during a steel cord winding operation. In the spool assembly, a plurality of spools are assembled together into a longitudinal single assembly with a side plate siding each end of the assembly. A spool inlet channel and a spool outlet opening are formed on a winder body. A bobbin lift, movably set in the winder body, is selectively raised upwardly along with the spool assembly from an interior position of the body by a lead screw, thus discharging the spool assembly from the body to a designated position above the top wall of the body through the spool outlet opening. Head and tail stocks, individually having a movable cylinder, are positioned on the top wall of the winder body at positions around the spool outlet opening and selectively rotate the spool assembly while holding the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6189826
Abstract: An apparatus and method for guiding and cutting a continuously advancing yarn during a package doff in a yarn winding apparatus wherein the advancing yarn is wound on a driven bobbin tube. In this process, the yarn is guided by means of a movable yarn guide along a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the tube. Downstream of the yarn guide, a suction device is arranged, which includes a pneumatic suction inlet end and a cutter. The suction device cooperates with a transfer device, so as to cut the yarn during the package doff and receive the loose end of the advancing yarn. To facilitate a protective processing of the yarn during the package doff, during the catching, and during the winding of initial layers on a tube driven by a drive roll, the yarn guide is arranged in the path of the yarn upstream of the driven tube and the suction device downstream of the driven tube.
