    Abstract: A packaging apparatus including a base to pivotable attachment to one or more spindles and rigid attachment to a cutting cabinet and a control device to more efficiently automate the process of wrapping an article with a web material is disclosed. The cutting cabinet includes a pneumatically powered, rotating blade carried by a cylinder positioned on an air cylinder within the cutting cabinet, permitting the blade to displace vertically almost the entire longitudinal length of the cabinet. A pair of powered rollers are also positioned within the cutting cabinet so that the web material may be fed from the larger supply stored on the spindle into the cutting cabinet in a predetermined manner as dictated by the control device so that a predetermined length of web material may be distributed and used to package an article, regardless of whether subsequent articles are the same size or not.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a centre wheel for winding up a duct or cable on a stabilizing center core. The centre wheel has a first and a second end. The centre wheel comprises a first plate element arranged at the first end of the centre wheel. The centre wheel further comprises at least three curved plate elements extending between the first plate element and the second end and arranged at angular distance around a centre axis of the centre wheel, so that the stabilizing center core can be fit in a space between the first plate element and the curved plate elements, whereby a duct or cable that is wound around the third plate elements is supported by the third plate elements and by the stabilizing centre core in gaps between the third plate elements.

    Abstract: A device for winding a length of wire into one or more flat coils, with the device having a winding component onto which the wire is wound, a wire guide to contain the coils of the wire into a single width flat coil, and a drive engagement component adapted to be engaged by a drive means such that the drive means operates the winding component of the device. In one embodiment of the device the winding component is a cylindrical capstan having a receiving slot adapted to engage the end of the wire, the drive means is an electric hand drill, the drive engagement component is a shaft integrated with and extending from the capstan and adapted to be inserted into the chuck of the electric hand drill, and the wire guide has two spaced apart parallel members adapted to accommodate the capstan in the space between them, whereby the parallel members guide the coil of the wire into a single width flat coil onto the capstan as the capstan is rotated by the electric drill.

    Abstract: A device is provided for winding wire into a coil. The device includes a shaft for turning on an axis; a hub attached to the shaft; inner and outer wheels; a mandrel having an outer radial surface for looping the wire; and a guide connectable to the mandrel and extending past the inner wheel. The shaft is structurally supported by a housing. The inner wheel, mandrel and outer wheel are removably fastened to the hub, the wire passes along the guide and lays along the radial surface of the mandrel, and the shaft rotates for looping the wire around the mandrel. The shaft can be rotated either manually or by a motor. A system is provided that includes the winding device, and further includes a wire-feed device, particularly for arranging several strands of wire into a ribbon.

In order to avoid electrical interference between the frequency converters and other electronic equipment each of the variable speed motors for the spindles and the changing device have an integrated frequency converter (9a,18a). The control unit (20) controls momentary frequencies of the frequency converters and also spooling machine operations.
