The clamping unit (22) being height-adjustable relative to the coil support (10) and being able to be at least partly inserted into a coil eye (42) of the coil (4). The fastening device (12) being fastened to the coil support (10) or to the chassis (8) of the coil transport cart (6). The coil support (10) having a cut-out (40), into which the clamping unit (22) can be at least partly lowered.

When a liner and an unvulcanized tread member are taken-up on and stored on a reel, the reel is supported by a driven roller and a drive roller, and the reel is stored in a state of being rotated constantly. As a result, during storage, a load caused by the wound tread member itself is applied uniformly to an entire wound circumference. Therefore, collapsing deformation caused thereby is made uniform along a longitudinal direction, and differences in a configuration of the tread member at respective wound layers do not arise.

    Abstract: A rewinder for rewinding a web into one or more rolls on separate cores, includes at least one rewinding mandrel having a distal end. The rewinder also has a supply device for supplying the web to the rewinding mandrel, and a drive device. Also included is a holder for holding the one or more rolls. The rewinder also has a lifter for (a) raising the holder to support the portion of the web wound on the mandrel, and (b) lowering the holder. This rewinding mandrel is rotated in order to wind at least a portion of the web onto the rewinding mandrel. The holder is then raised to support the portion of the web wound on the mandrel. Next, the mandrel is axially retracted to unload the portion of the web wound on the mandrel, before lowering the holder.

The process includes positioning one of the roll pairs against a winding tube, pressing the winding tube against a central roll with the one roll pair, guiding a web onto the winding tube and rotating the winding tube to form a wound roll, and pivoting the one roll pair so that all of the plurality of roll pairs are positioned beneath the wound roll.
