Driven With Take-up Or Supply Patents (Class 242/535.3)
  • Patent number: 7878442
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for the production of a coreless roll (110?) including a sheet (110) of flexible, not moist, material such as a fibrous absorbent material, produced by winding of the sheet in one direction and rolling this sheet about a winding axis perpendicular to such direction, and including a central dispensing leader forming a projection along such axis relative to at least one part of the plane of one of the sides of the roll. The method is characterized in that the leader is produced by displacing a portion of the end of the sheet (110) before winding so that one of the longitudinal edges of the sheet forms an angle (?) other than zero relative to such direction of winding, after which winding of the sheet about the axis is initiated. By preference several sheets are produced by longitudinal cutting of a wide sheet. The solution may be applied for production in particular of general wipe rolls, hand towel rolls, or toilet paper rolls.

  • Patent number: 7077289
Abstract: A dispenser for individual strip bandages from a rolled elongate bandage supply having the individual strip bandages releasably interconnected between a pair of cover strips defining chambers about each strip bandage. The dispenser provides a feed spindle carrying the bandage supply that is moved to a cover strip separator adjacent to a delivery slot in a casement. The cover strips are removed from a given strip bandage in the separator and pass along waste courses to motor powered take-up devices which move the bandage supply and disperse the given strip bandage through the delivery slot. At least one cover strip waste course has a tension sensor to sense tension in the associated cover strip to control the take-up device moving the associated cover strip to maintain synchronization of the motion of the pair of cover strips on the take-up devices moving them.

  • Patent number: 6431220
Abstract: A take-up control system for controlling a take-up motion included in a loom controls the take-up motion according to the diameter of a roll of cloth being woven on the loom so that a proper tension is exerted on the cloth. A take-up controller included in the take-up control system controls a torque-controllable motor for driving a cloth roller to take up the cloth in the roll on the basis of an electric signal representing the diameter of the roll according to a control program to exert a properly adjusted tension on the cloth. The take-up controller can also control an actuator for pressing a pressing member against the circumference of the roll according to weaving conditions, or weaving conditions and the diameter of the roll, to apply a properly adjusted pressure to the roll by the pressing member.

  • Patent number: 6367732
Abstract: A strapping machine having an inertial rotating system allowing for strapping materials to be continually fed to the feed wheel of the device is provided. The inertial rotating system allows the strapping machine to continue to feed strapping material such that loops of excess material are not generated upon the cessation of pull force on the strapping material. The inertial rotating system includes a twisted belt allowing the motor shaft to be placed approximately perpendicular to the pulley attached to the reel of strapping material such that the pulley and strap may be housed within the housing of the strapping machine. The use of a twisted belt allows for the use of a motor having a single drive shaft, thus simplifying the motor used in the strapping machine. The inertial rotating system further provides a means to rewind and recover strapping material from the strapping machine.
