Manual Patents (Class 242/546.1)
  • Patent number: 9970205
Abstract: A tool for removing carpet from a floor. The carpet removal tool includes a panel having an elongated opening thereon. Opposing ends of the panel include handles pivotally affixed thereto to be grasped by one or more users, wherein the handles can be positioned parallel to or perpendicular to the panel. In operation, the user cuts a portion of the carpet to be removed and secures the end of the carpet within the elongated opening on the panel. The user then pulls using the handle so that the carpet wraps around the panel as it is removed from the floor. The carpet can be manually wrapped around the panel by the user.

  • Patent number: 6811110
Abstract: A reeling device for fire hoses. The device includes a winch, a gearing kit that controls the winch and an operating handle. The device is installed on a structural rack in which of the two protruding axles arranged on the winch, one is secured and turns along with the winch and the other is movably situated at the center of the winch and controlled by the handle for telescopic movement, thereby allowing the twin axles to hold and reel the fire hose and allowing the removal of fire hose easily from the winch by withdrawing one of the axles after reeling the fire hose. In addition, the device features the gearing kit for transmission of the hose through the change of number of gears of the gearing kit as a way to reel the hose with less effort than traditional manual reeling.

  • Patent number: 6682012
Abstract: A reeling device (10), has a support base (1), a support arm (2), and a shaft (9′) mounted on the support arm (2). One shaft end has a boss (9) and the other end has a revolving frame (7). Mounted to the device is a transit case (20), within which the used doctor blades (12) of a paper/cardboard machine are reeled on a roll. Raw material is supplied to a blade production plant, where the blades are produced, then transported to a paper/cardboard plant and stored in the plant prior to being mounted in connection with paper/cardboard machine rolls, where their condition is monitored during use. Used doctor blades are removed from the machine, packed in storable form with the reeling device, and are stored in the paper/cardboard plant. The packed used blades are transported away from the paper/cardboard plant and delivered into recycling, reuse or end use.

  • Patent number: 6659389
Abstract: A dual-mode hose roller including a crank and a mounting plate may be used to roll up collapsed hose into either a compact hose roll or an expanded hose coil. The crank and mounting plate are arranged to facilitate transmission of torque from the crank to the desired type of hose winding. When a compact hose roll is desired, torque is transmitted directly to the hose. When an expanded hose coil is desired, torque is transmitted to the hose through the mounting plate and several extension arms. The extension arms are sized so that the hose roller forms an expanded hose coil having a suitable diameter for structural fire hose. The mounting plate is rotatably mounted on a fixed support through a bearing and, optionally, a ratchet mechanism. Using the hose roller, preparation is made for fighting a structural fire arranging a section of collapsed hose into a hose bundle. A section of hose is rolled up into an expanded hose coil and arranged into a number of hose loops to form a hose bundle.
