Vibration Creation Or Dampening Patents (Class 242/907)
  • Patent number: 7588208
Abstract: Process and apparatus for damping vibrations in a machine for winding material webs, in which the apparatus includes at least two cylindrical bodies. The process includes positioning the at least two cylindrical bodies to roll on each other to form a nip, such that at least one of imbalance and out-of-roundness of either of the at least two cylindrical bodies form a system capable of vibration. The process further includes actively damping vibrational forces of the vibration system in at least one of the at least two cylindrical bodies by displacing an axis of rotation of the at least one of the at least two cylindrical bodies in accordance with a current one of a plurality of vibrational force measurements made per each rotation of the at least one of at least two cylindrical bodies and with additional energy fed from outside of the vibration system.

  • Patent number: 6655628
Abstract: A bobbin-winding device (28) for a cheese-producing textile machine with a pivotably seated creel (18) for holding a cheese (11), and a damping device (29), which can be acted on magnetically and is connected with the creel (18). The damping device (29) has a movable, electrically conductive component (30), which is at least indirectly connected with the creel (18) and is arranged such that the movably seated component (30) intersects the magnetic field of a stationarily arranged magnet system (32), preferably a permanent magnet system, in a contactless manner.

  • Patent number: 6629663
Abstract: An improved system for detecting and controlling vibration of a wound roll in a winding machine includes a programmable controller to which the line speed of a web, diameter of the wound roll and vibration of the wound roll feedback is provided. The programmable controller computes the wound roll rotational frequency from the line speed and diameter feedback and uses this information to filter the vibration feedback so that the components of the vibration due solely to the rotation of the wound roll are isolated. The isolated vibration components are provided to a level detector which decelerates the winding machine when a predetermined vibration level is reached. In one embodiment, the rotational frequency is used to calculate coefficients for a band pass filter which filters the vibration feedback.

  • Patent number: 5896654
Abstract: In particular to connect wires insulated with highly heat-resistant lacquer to terminal elements, the winding wire has hitherto been wrapped around a terminal element and connected mechanically and electrically at at least one connection point by the local application of energy with the removal of the insulation. During winding around the terminal element, the winding end is held under pretension and simultaneously vibrations, in particular in the ultrasonic region, are coupled into the winding wire/terminal element system at the connection point to apply energy. Preferably, the vibrations are coupled into the wire outside the connection point. As a result of the fact that the vibrations propagate via the tensioned wire and bring about a relative movement between winding material and terminal element, an insulating layer can be broken up at least partially and the electrical connection to the terminal element is made by ultrasonic welding.

  • Patent number: 5730349
Abstract: A tape guide mechanism includes a shaft having one end fixed to a base, a guide part provided in a predetermined position on the shaft to guide a tape, and a vibrating element capable of vibrating the shaft either in a first vibration mode or in a second vibration mode. In the first vibration mode, the tape is caused to travel at a predetermined normal speed. In the second vibration mode, the tape is caused to travel at a higher speed than the predetermined normal speed.

  • Patent number: 5381979
Abstract: A spinning reel comprising a reel body, a handle including an arm projecting to one side with respect to an axis of rotation of the handle, and a grip portion defined in an outer end portion of the arm, a handle shaft connected to the handle to be rotatable on the axis of rotation of the handle, a drive gear housed in the reel body to be rotatable in unison with the handle shaft, and a rotor rotatably supported forwardly of the reel body. The rotor is rotatable by drive transmitted from the handle through said handle shaft and the drive gear. The spinning reel of the invention further comprises balancer means mounted on plural positions axially of the handle for restraining vibration of a rotary mechanism of the handle caused by turning of the handle and for balancing the rotary mechanism of the handle.

  • Patent number: 5377893
Abstract: An ultrasonic tape guide device for use in a video tape recorder, for example, has a tubular tape guide disposed around and supported on a shaft mounted on a base. A substantially flat piezoelectric ultrasonic vibrator for vibrating the tubular tape guide in an axial direction thereof has one surface fixed to the tubular tape guide and an opposite free surface facing away from the tubular gape guide. When the piezoelectric ultrasonic vibrator is energized to vibrate the tubular tape guide, a magnetic tape is guided smoothly around the tubular tape guide with a low coefficient of friction.
