Special Bearing Or Lubrication Patents (Class 242/914)
  • Patent number: 7195191
Abstract: An oil spatter prevention apparatus having a shaft for use with a device, such as a tape recorder, including a stationary portion fixed to a deck, a shaft body extended from the stationary portion on which a rotation body is rotatably supported on an outer circumference, and an oil spattering prevention means for preventing oil applied between the shaft body and the rotation body from being spattered when the shaft body rotates, the oil spatter prevention means being at least one of a circumferential recess on the shaft body, an annular recess on the shaft stationary portion, and a recess exterior and adjacent to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7128292
Abstract: A lifting device for temporarily supporting a trunnion of a paper roll to relieve a bearing and its bearing block of load to facilitate replacement of the bearing. The lifting device includes an arch yoke and a cradle yoke having torque arms which are rigidly interconnected by releasable fasteners and which extend axially alongside laterally opposite sides of the bearing block, thus permitting support members, such as extensible jacks, to be placed beneath the torque arms at laterally opposite sides of the bearing block.

  • Patent number: 6360982
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for correcting the bending of a shaft (2), an axle or another carrier resting with both ends upon a pair of bearing elements (6, 7). The carrier bends under its own weight and/or additional loading and/or due to forces applied on the bearing elements. Said bearing elements are submitted to a bending counterforce (4) produced using the carrier weight and/or additional loading and/or forces applied.

  • Patent number: 6145781
Abstract: A cable storage assembly including a storage case, a cable coil within the storage case, and an outlet opening in the side of the case through which the cable is withdrawn. A disc-shaped base is provided on the floor of the case and the cable coil is located thereon. This permits rotation of the coil and base more readily than prior art devices. The Invention also includes the provision of one or more low-friction sheets between the floor of the case and the base which will further enhance the ability of the assembly to deliver the cable easily. The sheets may be replaced by a bearing which contacts the floor at a very limited area, compared to that of the base, which aids in additional friction reduction. If it is desired to fabricate the case out of thin cardboard, plastic, or the like, a planar hard support is provided on the floor and the bearing rests thereon. In all cases, the amount of force necessary to withdraw the cable is drastically reduced.

  • Patent number: 5673871
Abstract: A lubricating apparatus for centrally distributing lubricant to a desired lubrication point of a wedge surface of an expanding reel mandrel through an axial bore defined in the shaft of an expanding reel mandrel. The mandrel further defines a channel therein for establishing fluid communication between the lubrication point and the axial bore of the mandrel shaft. One or more lubricant-guiding cartridges are disposed within the axial bore of the mandrel shaft and a central lubricant distribution unit is attached to an end of the shaft for distributing lubricant to the cartridges. Each cartridge has a longitudinal conduit defined therein and a peripheral wall having an annular transverse groove. The transverse groove is in fluid communication with the longitudinal conduit and with the channel so that lubricant is flowable from the central distribution unit to the lubrication point on the wedge surface.

  • Patent number: 5591524
Abstract: The invention relates to a yarn guidance rod and to a device for the laying of a yarn on a cross-wound bobbin in a textile machine. A plurality of winding stations installed next to each other is serviced by a yarn guidance rod made of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic which can be moved back and forth. The yarn guidance rod is provided with a sheathing. The yarn guidance rod has segments made of a highly heat-expandable material in order to achieve heat compensation as compared with the textile machine.
