Abstract: There is a requirement to provide bearings in relatively low speed non continuous situations such as with regards to turnover stands for engine and winding assembly. Previous bearings incorporating rolling elements are relatively expensive and over specified for such activities. By providing annulus members in a bearing cluster upon rocker members such that the annulus members can articulate in order to provide an appropriate bearing. Lubricating oil generally passes between the annulus members in a laminar stack such that the members can radially slide past each other to accommodate for eccentricities in a shaft supported by the bearing.
Abstract: The invention relates to a skid device (6) for spotlights with skids (7, 8), which extend essentially parallel to the optical axis of the spotlight, and cross members (11, 12), which connect the skids (7, 8) to one another and which serve to hold a bottom section of the spotlight housing (3). The invention provides that at least one skid (7, 8) has a section (73 to 75, 83 to 85) situated at an angle to the center longitudinal axis (M) of the spotlight housing (1, 3).

Abstract: Two- and four-columned stands for holding vehicles aloft during dismantling include A-frame style structures having no raised horizontal cross members. The stands have improved stability and safety for dismantlers and equipment operators in the work area and provide clear access to vehicle components. Preferred stands permit adjustment to the width of the stand at the top. Distance along the length of four-columned stands can be varied to accommodate vehicles of differing lengths, or height of the stand can be adjusted. Four-columned stands include a pair of two-columned stands, each of which is wider at its ground-level base than at the top, and two horizontal ground-level links that connect the two-columned stands at their bases. Preferably a top platform of each two-columned stand includes two horizontal sliding T-beam assemblies that contact portions of a mounted vehicle and also permit width adjustment.

Abstract: An angle adjustment apparatus for an electronic device according to the present invention can be inexpensively formed by a compact and simple structure and readily assembled and disassembled. When a telephone set as an electronic device is in a small inclination position, auxiliary plates are substantially in parallel to supports of a leg. Tips of the auxiliary plates are brought into abutment against right surfaces of the first projections. Click portions of the supports are brought into abutment against left surfaces of the second projections. Accordingly, the supports cannot be further rotated counterclockwise with respect to the base. When the telephone set is in a large inclination position, the auxiliary plates are perpendicular to the supports. The tips of the auxiliary plates are brought into abutment against the engagement portions of the base. The click portions of the supports are located between the first projections and the second projections.
Abstract: A device and method for securing a bow while hunting is provided. The device generally includes a base, a support arm rotatably mounted to the base, a connecting arm connected to the support arm, and a retaining arm rotatably connected to the connecting arm and mounted for rotation between an open position and a closed position to secure the limb of the bow. The support arm acts as a lever arm wherein the weight of the bow causes the connecting arm to move and the retaining arm to rotate from an open position to a closed position to secure the limb of the bow.

Abstract: A system for the storage and convenient presentation of tools or other items is disclosed. Specifically, the invention disclosed is a multilevel tool lift which consists of a base assembly, a substantially vertical tube assembly and shelf assemblies attached to the substantially vertical tube assembly. The substantially vertical tube assembly can be extended or contracted, thereby raising and lowering the shelf assemblies attached thereto.
Abstract: A load bearing stand which includes a concrete base and a rigid upright member having a lower-most end rigidly anchored in the base so that the lower-most end is substantially completely immersed in the base and where the upper end is adapted for rigid mounting thereon of a load supporting structure. The lower-most end of the upright member has a plurality of apertures therethrough. A corresponding plurality of rigid rods are journalled through the plurality of apertures so as to extend the rods substantially equally and oppositely from the lower-most end of the upright member and into the base to support the member. The rods and apertures are sized for snug mating of the rods through the apertures.
Abstract: The invention provides a unique modular boat support that supports boats on dry land. The modular boat supports are stackable to achieve any desired height, and are made from a strong yet relatively light material. The modular body contains a reinforcement structure and an interconnect assembly that stabilize the structure when units are stacked together. The preferred shape is conical, but any shape may be used.
Abstract: A surgical instrument stand for supportingly receiving surgical instruments is provided. The instrument stand includes at least one instrument support, a first end plate, and a second end plate. The second end plate is positionally coupled to the first end plate by the at least one instrument support. A surgical instrument organizer assembly for supportingly receiving surgical instruments is provided. The organizer includes the instrument stand and at least one clamp. Each clamp is positionably coupled to the at least one instrument support at a desired axial position thereof. Each clamp is configured to separate one surgical instrument from another surgical instrument. The at least one clamp can hold a surgical instrument in operative engagement with a support in a desired orientation. The arrangement of the surgical instrument stand permits disassembly thereof to facilitate sterilization for reuse.
Abstract: There is a magnet stand assembly. The assembly has a base, an upright member, and a magnet bearing decorative or informational indicia. The upright member is connected with the base and extends generally perpendicularly with respect to the base. The base is adapted to be positioned on a generally flat, horizontal surface and the upright member is adapted to be vertically disposed. The upright member has a face of a metal attractive to a magnet and the magnet is attracted to and retained by the face. There is also a magnet stand.

Abstract: A hexapod machine is disclosed in which six adjustable length struts couple to a controllably moveable platform at three triangularly spaced locations at each of which a pair of struts couple together and to the platform at a bifurcated universal joint. The struts extend away from the platform and through machine nodes defined at triangularly spaced-apart locations in a machine sub-frame, and at each such node a strut extending from one platform location and the next adjacent strut from the next adjacent platform location come together and cross each other in respective hemispheres of a bifurcated sphere journalled for multidirectional pivotal movement in a socket in the sub-frame. The hemispheres each contain a motor which is frictionally engaged with the respective strut so as to enable it to be driven through the hemisphere to adjust its effective length. By control of the motors, the platform position and orientation can be adjusted in space.
Abstract: A pedestal comprising a pedestal base whose upper surface defines at least two pairs of open channels. Each pair of open channels is sized and spaced so that a support member of constant cross-section can be slidably fitted into the pair of channels. The pairs of channels are positioned so that, when a straight support member is fitted into each pair of channels, all the support members are parallel to each other and form a platform for supporting objects. The pedestals are particularly useful in the catering and hospitality industry for supporting food and beverage containers, tableware, flower vases and sculptures.
Abstract: A supporting device and a display device using the same are provided. The supporting device is used for supporting the display device. The supporting device includes a first component and a second component. The first component has at least a first through hole. The second component having at least a second through hole includes at least an elasticity unit. The elastic unit is disposed near the second through hole. When the first component is overlapped with the second component, the first through hole is communicated with the second through hole. An inserting unit is inserted in the first through hole and the second through hole. When the inserting unit is inserted into the first through hole and the second through hole, the elastic unit is expanded by the inserting unit to tightly connect to the first through hole for fixing the first component on the second component.

A method of forming an unsupported span is also provided.

Abstract: A foldable traffic sign system comprises a relatively rigid sign panel and a plurality of folding lines disposed in the sign panel, for permitting ready folding of the sign panel into a substantially smaller configuration. In a preferred embodiment, at least one cut is disposed partially along a dimension of the sign panel, to further facilitate ready folding of the sign panel. One of the folding lines is disposed substantially horizontally across a center region of the sign panel, and at least one of the folding lines is disposed substantially vertically on the sign panel, and intersects with the horizontal folding line. The plurality of folding lines creates a plurality of sign sections, preferably six, defined by a combination of the folding lines and cuts in the sign panel. The sign system further comprises a folding sign stand, and a tote for containing both the sign panel and sign stand.

Abstract: A stand for attaching a bowl to a surface. The stand includes a base with a first continuous side wall extends from a first surface of the base to define a first suction cup. A second continuous side wall extends from a second surface of the base to define a second suction cup. The second suction cup extends in an opposing direction from the first suction cup. The first continuous side wall includes an inner face extending between the base and a first outer rim. The inner face has a first continuous raised ridge for defining a first cavity within the first continuous side wall for securing the stand to one of the bowl and the surface. A handle can be provided for releasing the stand from one of the bowl and the surface.

Abstract: An apparatus for securing an infant carrier to a flat surface so that such carrier is not in danger of falling off or being pulled down by curious toddler siblings. The apparatus comprises a base member having a predetermined shape and size and is formed of a predetermined material. The base member has a bottom portion and a sidewall portion. There is at least one bar member that is engageable with the sidewall portion of the base member and is further engageable with such infant carrier for securing such infant carrier to the bar member. A bracket, for removably securing the bar member to such sidewall portion, is engageable with the sidewall portion and with at least one bar member. A plurality of suction cups are disposed at predetermined positions on an underside surface of the bottom portion of the base member for securing the apparatus to such flat surface.
Abstract: A prayer rug stand having a base, a centrally located vertical post rising from the base, a horizontal cross bar supported at is central portion by the vertical post. The cross bar serves as a rug suspension bar. Another embodiment has arched brackets extending outward from each end of the cross bar with a rug suspension bar attached between the arched brackets so as to space the rug suspension bar from the cross bar. In an augmented version, a book holder for the QURAN is provided on the upper end portion of the vertical post on the side opposite the arched brackets and rug suspension bar. The book holder is supported at an angle to retain the book in the holder when the book is not in use. The book may be opened to a desired page while remaining stable supported by the book holder or support.
Abstract: A weighted sunscreen for outdoor use, which includes a shade having an elongated post with a first end, a second end, and a canopy attached to the first end, a weight, to which the second end is attached, a platform comprising an upper side upon which the weight is mounted, and a lower side, and at least three wheels attached to the lower side of the platform. Abstract: In a stand of liquid crystal display, a holding member may include a slider, a lower cover, a leaf spring that abuts against a side of the slider, a push-force adjusting member. The push-force adjusting member includes a push member, which has a tapered portion and pushes the leaf spring, and a screw member, which adjusts a height of the tapered portion of the push member relative to the leaf spring. The push-force adjusting member serves to adjust a push force of the leaf spring on the side of the slider. The lower cover has an adjustment hole, through which the screw member can be adjusted from outside. The slider may have a rectangular-shaped. The lower cover may have a first stopper, against which an upper end surface of the slider abuts, and a second stopper, against which a lower end surface of the slider abuts.
Abstract: A solar powered perimeter beam security system comprising a plurality of spaced towers. The towers have detection beams extending between them for detecting an intruder when at least one of the detection beams is interrupted. Each of the towers communicates with a remote unit. At least one of the towers is movable from one location to another. An alarm. The detection beams define an intruder detection area into which an intruder cannot pass without breaking at least one of the detection beams thereby setting off the alarm. The detection area is expandable and decreasable by moving at least one of the towers. The towers are incapable of movement without setting off the alarm once positioned with the detections beams being activated.
Abstract: A method for stabilizing a roof-resting vehicle includes the steps of leaning one or more buttress stands against a rear fender area of the vehicle, passing a chain under a rear end of the vehicle from one of the buttress stands to another, tightening the slack from the chain by pulling chain-grab end fittings towards the fenders at the vehicle undercarriage, using a ratchet strap, restraining the chain from sliding off the rear end of the vehicle by attaching a ratchet strap to the chain near a trunk lid of the vehicle, and passing the chain up to the vehicle undercarriage in front of a wheel assembly of the vehicle, attaching a ratchet strap at a base of the one or more buttress stands and tightening, and placing wedges in front of the opposite end of the vehicle, such that the vehicle is stabilized.

Abstract: The present invention is a rigid or collapsible folding stand for a high fidelity amplifier or speaker. In general, the amplifier or speaker has a rear base edge placed on a two or more flexible straps. The amplifier or speaker is then tilted backward until it touches the amplifier or speaker stand at a single point. The rear surface of the amplifier or speaker, supporting legs and one or more lower flexible straps form a triangle that supports the amplifier or speaker. The stabilizing device includes an object bracket, legs, side arms and front arms. The legs and arms move the vibrations away from the object bracket and the object and eliminate or reduce the vibrations. The legs and arms include a core surrounded by damping material. The damping characteristics of the legs, side arms and front arms can be adjusted by selecting damping material having different damping characteristics depending on the type of object to be used with the stabilizing device and the type of vibrations to be reduced or eliminated.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for high speed phase modulation of optical beam with reduced optical loss. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a first region of an optical waveguide disposed in semiconductor material. The first region has a first conductivity type. The apparatus also includes a second region of the optical waveguide disposed in the semiconductor material. The second region has a second conductivity type opposite to the first conductivity type. A first contact is included in the apparatus and is coupled to the optical waveguide at a first location in the first region outside an optical path of an optical beam to be directed through the optical waveguide. The apparatus also includes a first higher doped region included in the first region and coupled to the first contact at the first location to improve an electrical coupling between the first contact and the optical waveguide. The first higher doped region has a higher doping concentration than a doping concentration within the optical path.
