Abstract: A domestic appliance, such as a double oven range, incorporates a door having a bottom end portion which, when shifted between closed and opened positions, both pivots and vertically shifts relative to a frame body of the appliance through at least a connecting rod, push rod and pivot arm of a hinge mechanism. Due to a combined pivoting and lifting action of the door, minimal to no clearance is required between the bottom end portion and adjacent structure.

Abstract: A terminal apparatus includes a portion (12) having an operation portion, a pedestal (20) which holds the main-body base portion (12) so as to be tiltable, a hook (31) which fixes the main-body base portion (12) in a tilting state at plural predetermined angles, a tooth row (224) which has teeth and engages with the hook (31) to fix the main-body base portion (12) in the tilting state at plural predetermined angles, a cam (33) which moves within the main-body base portion (12) in accordance with the tilt angle of the main-body base portion (12), and a cam control groove (226) which controls the movement of the cam (33), wherein when the hook (31) moves over the tooth at the uppermost step of the tooth row (224), the hook rides on the cam (33) thereby to release the engagement with the tooth row (224), then the hook moves downward in a state of riding on the cam (33), then the main-body base portion (12) releases the tilting and moves downward to restore to an initial position.

Abstract: The holder for a drinks container includes a holding arm (16) movable from an initial position into a holding position and formed to hold the drinks container around a circumference of the drinks container, a cover (14) movable from a closed position into an open position and a locking device (32,38) for locking the holding arm (16) in the initial position and for unlocking the holding arm (16) when the cover is moved into the open position. In a preferred embodiment the locking device (32,38) includes a slider member (32), a device for displacing the slider member (32) from a first position to a second position when the cover (14) is opened and a detent lug (38) provided on the holding arm (16) that locks the slider member (32) when the holding arm (16) is in the initial position and that unlocks the slider member (32) when the slider member (32) is displaced from the first position to the second position.

Abstract: A garbage container has a housing with a rear wall, opposite side walls extending forwardly therefrom and a lid hingedly connected to the top of the rear wall and extending forwardly therefrom so as to rest on the top of the side walls in a closed position. A waste supporting platform is located within the housing and is pivotally connected adjacent its front edge to the opposite side walls for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. A front wall extends upwardly from the front edge of the platform and has a top edge level with the top of the side walls in the closed position. A connecting member is pivotally connected to a rear portion of the platform and to a rear portion of the underside of the lid to cause upward opening movement of the lid to pivot the platform upwardly about its pivotal connection to the side walls with resultant forward pivotal movement of the front wall to facilitate access to the interior of the container.

Abstract: A treadle top container for refuse and the like comprises a lower container member interconnected with an upper container member by an upright container member. The upright container member includes a hollow portion which communicates with a hollow portion of the lower container member and a hollow portion of the upper container member. A foot pedal is movably mounted adjacent to the lower container member while a lid is movably mounted adjacent to a rotatable portion of the upper container member. The lid is shaped to selectively close an open marginal edge of the upper container member. A flexible actuator is provided having one end operatively connected with the foot pedal and the other end operatively connected with a pivot rod located within and attached to the rotatable portion of the hollow portion of the upper container member.
