The apparatus includes an elongated track (10) having first and second ends (14, 36) and being attached to an overhead support surface (12). A slidable support member (18) is slidably mounted on the track (10) and includes a carriage (20) with a downwardly-extending support arm (22). The slidable support member (18) is movable along the length of the track (10). A fixed support member (16) is adjacent the track's first end (14). An elongated object (24) may be supported adjacent opposite ends thereof (28, 32). A first end (28) is supported by the fixed support member (16) and a second end (28) is supported by the slidable support member (18). The elongated object (24) may be placed on the apparatus by placing the object's second end (28) on the slidable support member (18) when the slidable support member (18) is adjacent the track's first end (14).

  • Patent number: 5390888
Abstract: A portable holder a container of paint, and the like, which is capable of being positioned at a multitude of locations on a ladder, or on other structures, which portability allows one to move the supply of paint from one location to another. The holder has it own dedicated, container or receptacle in which paint is poured from a paint can, which receptacle may be releasably latched to the holder itself, whereby the chances of spillage of paint is greatly reduced. The portable holder of the invention is also provided with a vertically-extending hook that is used for suspending the device from a rung of a ladder, or other supporting structure, and a horizontally-extending hook that is used for suspending a paint brush. A stop prevents the horizontally-extending hook from rotating when the vertically-extending hook rotates.

  • Patent number: 5360193
Abstract: An apparatus for suspending a hanging plant that is housed in a container is described as including three or more flexible supports each of which has a first end and a second end. The first end of each flexible support is adapted for hanging from an overhead supporting hook. The second end of each flexible support is attached together to provide an enclosure for retaining and for supporting the container. At least one of the flexible supports includes a fastener that is disposed intermediate to the first end and the second end. The fastener includes a slideable sleeve. The slideable sleeve can be displaced along the longitudinal axis of the flexible support to expose a coupling which can then be separated. Once the coupling is separated the flexible support also separates into two halves and the container can be readily removed from or inserted into the apparatus through the opening provided by the separated flexible support.

  • Patent number: 5342011
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluid container attachment adaptor for an ambulatory fluid delivery system which includes a support device for attachment of a fluid delivery set and a pump. The fluid container attachment adaptor allows simple attachment to the support device of fluid containers which have been designed for attachment to commonly used IV poles. The fluid container attachment adaptor preferably includes a disk-shaped body portion and a hook-shaped attachment member which is positioned centrally thereon, and extends away from the body portion. The disk-shaped body portion is designed to be accepted within the clamping members of the support device and the hook-shaped attachment member is designed to receive a fluid container for suspension from the adaptor in substantially the same manner as the fluid container may have been attached to a standard IV pole.

Abstract: A pot hanger for a vertically hanging pot with or without a drain saucer includes a series of flat sheet, generally inverted U-shaped spaced clips. A lower distal end of the clips seats on a downwardly-facing surface of the plant container or the saucer while an upper distal end seats against an inner surface of a pot container or saucer peripheral circular ridge. One or a pair of apertures are formed in a bight portion of each clip with a bottom chain link of a corresponding series of chains affixed therein. The tops of all of the chains are fixed into a common swivel, snap or S-type hook and the hook mounted on a provided support nail or screw hook. A tab is provided on each of the clips to facilitate removal of a clip from a pot container or saucer.

  • Patent number: 5290001
Abstract: This combination mobile sculpture and plant holder has two interlocking links. One link is suspended from the ceiling and the other link has a plant holder attached to it. Each link has an outer and an inner perimeter having a geometric shape. Corresponding slots on each of the links allow the links to be locked together. One of the links has a split to allow the links to be interlocked. The split extends from one of the slots to the opposite perimeter. The split makes several curves to form a mortise and a tenon to lock the two sides of the split together. The cooperating slot on the other link locks the split together when the links are locked together. An alternative to the mortise and tenon is a pair of inserts wedged between the first link and the slot on the inner perimeter of the second link.

  • Patent number: 5127715
Abstract: A tape case has a hexagonal housing having a planar top surface provided with VELCRO and magnetic fasteners for attaching the housing to an interior ceiling of a motor vehicle. A rotary carousel is mounted on a piston rod for movement into and out of the stationary housing. A push button latching mechanism serves to retain the carousel in a retracted position within the housing. When a user wishes to replace or remove a tape from the storage carousel, the latching mechanism may be released by pushing a single button which lowers the storage carousel from the housing. The carousel is rotatably mounted by a piston rod which is slidably received with a hollow sleeve in the interior of the housing. Air vent apertures are formed in the hollow sleeve for lowering the carousel at a gradual rate of descent and for allowing the carousel to be rapidly moved to a retracted position.
