Abstract: Apparatus for mounting a television set or the like from an ordinary home ceiling that has spaced-apart joists such as two-by-fours placed on edge and a ceiling panel secured to the underside of the joints. The apparatus includes an L-shaped bracket and a hollow shaft connected to one of the legs of the bracket so as to form a U-shaped hook that is engageable in flush contact with a ceiling joist. The shaft extends downward through a hole in the ceiling adjacent to a joist and provides support for a cabinet connected to the shaft. A spacer element is preferably disposed between the cabinet and ceiling, and the cabinet is secured by a disc and nut adjacent to the ceiling and a nut engaging the bottom of the shaft below a support plate connected to the top of the cabinet. Electrical wires and coaxial cables as required are threaded upward through the hollow shaft and are made available for connection to power and signal sources.

Abstract: There is described a holder for mounting along a horizontal support which enables a receptacle to be connected thereto. The holder comprises a rectangular member having outwardly projecting flanges along the lateral edges thereof, the first plate member hinged to the rectangular member and a second plate member hinged to the second plate member. Additionally, there is a base plate at the bottom of the rectangular member. The first plate member projects inwardly from the rectangular member while the base plate projects outwardly thereof. The second plate member can be attached to the rectangular plate such as by means of a plurality of elongated members, each having a plurality of engageable balls formed therealong. Slots are provided in the plate member to receive the strand and balls which can be adjustably mounted along the sleeve when mounting the holder on the horizontal support. Sliders are associated with the receptacle to be engaged by the flanges so as to connect the receptacle to the holder.

Abstract: A hanger clip of a type for use with conventional suspended ceiling beams that have L-shaped beams along the wall of a room to which the ceiling is applied and vertical T-shaped beams extending transversely of the room, which hanger clip can be used with both beans but is formed with a return section which permits the hanger to suspend items from the L-shaped section so that they will be against the walls of the room but which can additionally be used with the vertical T-shaped beams for midroom suspensions.

Abstract: A fluid containment chamber has hooked arms whereby it is hung from the paper roll holder spindle in a roll paper dispenser, and has a pump to dispense fluid. The pump is angled upward with operator and pump head dispensing spout at the front. The arms may be folded in a retracted position for compact shipping and storage. The hooked arms may include an elongated rearwardly reaching portion adapted to hang the chamber from either recessed or protruding roll paper dispensers. The hooked arms may include a downwardly sloping lower edge. A sump chamber is provided in the bottom of the fluid containment chamber. Spacer ears may be provided on the upper ends of the arms to wedge the device between the roll paper and the paper dispenser.

Abstract: A device designed to stabilize an intravenous solution bag in the vertical position, reducing swinging and bouncing, as the contents of the solution bag are infused into the patient in the pre or post hospital arrival environment.

Abstract: The invention relates to a hook for hanging ornaments on a Christmas tree and is equally useful as an article supporting hook for lightweight objects such as necklaces, keychains, laminated cards and the like. The hook is provided with an article supporting portion and an integral circular portion with a depending locking leg portion. In use the hook is placed over a supporting member such as the twig of a tree as a supporting rod with the twig or rod inserted through an open portion of the circular portion. Then the locking leg is manually manipulated such that the horizontal portion of the locking leg is retained behind an upper portion of the article supporting portion and due to the resiliency of the hook the locking leg is continually closed. To release the hook from the supporting member the locking member is manipulated such that the locking leg is released from the upper portion of the article supporting portion permitting the hook to be removed therefrom.

Abstract: A hang tab (10) is folded on itself, and its hanging region (15) is adhered to its stick-on region (20) so that it lies flat against a package (30) during shipment. The adhesive (25) between the hanging region and the stick-on region is arranged so that the hanging region can be unfolded after shipment to be upstanding from object (30), for hanging the object on a hanger wire. The adhesive bond can be made weak enough to break when the hanging region (15) is unfolded, or the bond can be stronger and can adhere an opening flap (16) to stick-on region (20) so that the unfolded hanging region has an opening (26) ready to receive a hanger wire.

Abstract: A bathtub apparatus is set forth wherein a portable module positionable overlying an associated bathtub rim includes a pump member for recirculating water through an inlet filtration pipe and selectively heating said water as desired. Included is valving for directing such water selectively through a plurality of water jets positioned in a series along a lower portion of said apparatus. The valving allows selective use of soap compartments to effect a directing of a soap solution under force into the bathtub chamber and further enables selective use of a portable spray head storable when not use within a compartment of the bathtub apparatus.

Abstract: An air ratchet holder for use in supporting an air ratchet tool includes a semicylindrical cradle portion having an end cap and a hook secured thereto. A C-shaped clasp means are secured within the interior of the semicylindrical cradle and are adapted to grasp the neck kportion of an air ratchet tool and secure it within the cradle interior. A hook is secured to the upper portion of the cradle to permit attachment to the under portion of a vehicle supported upon a hoist or the like. In an alternate embodiment, a magnetic clasp is used in place of the hook to provide for magnetic attachment of the air ratchet holder to a convenient metal member of the vehicle. An aperture in the cradle portion permits the air ratchet to be received within the holder in a reverse position.

Abstract: Conventional retailing display brackets having a single-offset-anchor portion are self-secureable to internally horizontally slotted upright panels. To adapt such brackets for similar self-secureable engagement to latticed panels, the present invention provides a height-extender adapter clip that is securely slideably mountable to the bracket's single-offset-anchor portion. The height-extender adapter is fabricated by strategically joining a laminar front-plate to a hooked rear-plate, and which plates are specially contoured for slideably bearing against selected areas of the bracket's single-offset-anchor portion.

Abstract: A garment bag hook containing parallel support legs adapted to grip opposite sides of a door to support the bag from the door. The legs are connected together by support surfaces which allow the bag to be suspended from a horizontal rod. A ring or loop swivelly attached to the hook adjacent one of the support legs facilitates the rotation of the garment bag from front to back as it is supported on a door.

Abstract: A device comprised of a hook, threaded bar and angled base can be loaded with weight plates and attached by the hooks to each end of a barbell. The height of the hook can be adjusted so that the device detaches from the barbell at the low point of the barbell desired by the lifter.

Abstract: A bracket for installation in a vehicle to provide support for hanging clothes. The bracket includes an extensible and retractable rod formed by two telescoping tubes which are circumferentially grooved to hold clothes hangers in place. An adjustable sleeve is fitted on the larger tube and carries both an L-shaped hook element which can be hooked on a grab bar in the vehicle and a U-shaped bail which can be hung on a clothing hook in the vehicle as an alternative way of supporting the clothing rod. The bail can be pivoted to a storage position when not used. An adjustable brace on one end of the rod engages the window frame of the vehicle to stabilize the rod in a horizontal position.

Abstract: A track supports a sliding door for movement into and out of a cavity formed in a wall. The end region of the track within the door-receiving cavity rests on a supporting surface to which it is unattached. The door moves between jambs with lower ends provided with vertical slots which receive tongues which extend upwardly from the opposite sides of a horizontal plate attached to the floor.

Abstract: A brush assembly having a pair of elongate brushes mounted in a spaced apart manner on a base having an outer wall disposed about the brushes. A hanger engages a bath or shower enclosure member and includes a hook for insertion within an opening in said base. Handles on the base facilitate relocation of the base from a stowed position on the hanger into place on a wall surface. Wall attachment is by suction cups on the rear side of the base with a lever provided for urging the base away from a supporting wall surface and facilitating return of the brush assembly to a stowed position. A double sided adhesive member may be used to permanently secure the base to a wall surface.

Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a housing from a support including a bracket member formed of at least two opposed walls and having a post member extending between the walls, one of the walls capable of being positioned on the housing; and a hook member having one end rotatably secured about the post member for selective rotational movement from a first storage position to a second hanging position, the other end of the hook member being configured for engagement with the support, the one end of the hook member and the bracket being configured and dimensioned so that the hook member remains locked in the hanging position.

Abstract: A separable hook for a hanger (for garments) is pivotably mounted to the hanger about a horizontal axis, so that when the hanger is not in use, the hook may be swiveled about the horizontal axis and folded or collapsed within the frame or main body portion of the hanger, thereby saving space for storage or shipment of the hanger. Additionally, the hook includes a base portion and a hook portion pivotably mounted to each other about a vertical axis. With this arrangement, when the hanger with its garment is in use, that is, attached to the hook and the hook received on a fixed horizontal support, the hanger (with its garment thereon) may be swiveled about the vertical axis.

Abstract: A support or attachment for attaching lines or articles to a tree branch or other cylindrical structure. The apparatus includes two springed flanges biased by the spring. The flanges include opposed-opening hooks, one at the end of each flange. The hooks form an opening when the springed flanges are compressed, form a closed attachment means where the flanges are released and are substantially co-planar when in the compressed and released positions.

Abstract: A hanger for books and periodicals, such as magazines and journals, has first and second elongated hanger members that extend respectively along inside and outside portions of the periodical spine to clamp the periodical spine between the hanger members. The members are fixed to one another at one end and either fixedly or detachably connected to one another at the other end. A hook or other suspension device is connected to the upper end of the hanger to enable a number of magazines to be stored and displayed by being suspended from a single point on a hook or horizontal support rod, with each periodical being held by the full length of its spine and suspended at a single one of its upper corners.

Abstract: A droplight tool accessory which produces a universality of position for the droplight, resulting in full intensity of illumination and reflection of light in the direction toward point of work. The accessory comprises three flexible arms between two of which an opening is provided and through which the droplight's handle is inserted so as to be clamped by lines of support included in the arms. Means to hand and rotate the accessory are included, as well as spaced points of support to seat the accessory and clamped droplight on a support surface.

Abstract: A hanger of molded plastic body construction has an integral hook anchor for an auxiliary hanger depending from the body of the hanger below and in vertical alignment with the hanger's support hook. The hook anchor has an internal chamber defined by front, back and bottom walls. The chamber is open at both ends and has a height substantially greater than the material thickness of the auxiliary hook to be secured in it. One of the front or rear walls has a horizontal slot providing access to the chamber for the hook of the auxiliary hanger. The slot is spaced above the bottom of the chamber to create a retaining lip for a hook seated in the chamber. In addition, means are provided to restrain the hook from leaving the chamber unless the removal is intentional and forcible.

Abstract: An article hanger of the type having an elongated body with dependent arms supporting a rod. The arms have rod support means which permits the rod to be assembled to the hanger body through a face of the body after the hanger has been molded. The support means includes a member for locking the rod into its supporting means in a manner preventing unintentional release. Article clamps for the hanger are mounted on the rod.

Abstract: The invention comprises a holder for a compressed gas cylinder which allows the cylinder to be secured to the side railing of an emergency stretcher or cot. A curvature lip is positioned over the railing and allows the holder and cylinder assembly to rotate freely when the railing is lowered.

Abstract: There is provided a racket and ball or container supporting device generally comprising a suspension member formed of a wire framework and arranged to be suspended at one end from a wire hook for placement about a closet rod, hook, or other support. For supporting the rackets from this suspension member there is provided in the preferred embodiment a loop or prongs which project upwardly from the bottom of the suspension member forming an acute angle with the suspension member. For supporting the balls or containers there is generally provided an enclosure member similarly formed as a loop and having protruding downwardly therefrom a supporting member affixed to the sides thereof.

Abstract: This invention pertains primarily to supplementary fastening devices in the form of a loop shaped clip in which the length of the loop portion of the clip is extensible and which are adapted for fastening the hook of a garment hanger or other hook including device to a clothesline or other linear member to which the hook is hooked.

Abstract: A sun blind for window openings having at least one of the upper and lower edges disposed, at least in part, at other than the horizontal, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the upper edge of the window opening is disposed at other than the horizontal, for example, at a slant, and the sun blind includes an upper rail conforming to the outline of the upper edge of the window opening and a rod fastened to the upper rail spaced apart from the upper rail. The rod is threaded through spaced apertures in the sun blinding member and retains the sun blinding member and a lower rail attached to it. The rod is clamped to the upper rail by fastening clips slidably disposed in the upper rail. Suitable cords are arranged for moving and guiding the sun blinding member. The sun blind can be used in window openings having slanted, peaked and arch-shaped upper or lower edges, for example.

Abstract: A holder for templates, triangles and the like that is slidably mounted on a drawing board eraser trough to permit its ready movement along the length of the drawing board. The holder includes several compartments with differing height dividers therebetween and further has a bottom slanted forwardly to permit layback of the templates or other equipment in a readily accessible position.

Abstract: A holder is provided for a flexible tubular package of the type used for packaging a consumer product, such as shampoo, liquid soap, cream, lotion, food spread, or a lubricating product. The holder includes a coupling portion with two spaced sidewall portions. Flanges at the lower end of the sidewall portions are in spaced opposed alignment and define therebetween a slot for receiving the neck of the tubular package and the sidewall portions are spaced apart sufficiently to receive the base portion of the tubular package. A web that interconnects the sidewall portions intermediate their ends provides stabilizing support that tends to maintain the flanges in parallel alignment and permits pressure at one end of the sidewall portions that tends to close the slot at the one end to concurrently tend to open the slot at the other end. A support portion that is integral with and an upward extension of the sidewall portions permits the holder to be secured to a support member.

Abstract: A wheel chair seat comprised of a one piece rigid configuration that offers stable support allowing controlled height seating and having a special cushion comprised of varying density foam sections that assist the user therapeutically in preventing ulcerated areas on the buttocks. Apparatus is provided for pivoting the support with the cushion attached thereto as the wheel chair is folded.

Abstract: A cable hanger bracket is provided for hanging a swinging scaffold from a walkway grating comprising vertical parallel side walls, a connected bottom wall and U-type oppositely extending bends for overlapping the grating of a steel grating walkway. A softener member device is secured between the parallel side walls and the connecting bottom wall and is designed to prevent cutting or chafing of a loop of cable about the softener member and between the parallel side walls. The cable hanger has U-bends and downwardly extending walls which overlap the grating and bind thereto in the event of overloading of a platform supported by cables and the hanger bracket.

Abstract: A device for supporting a heald frame in a weaving loom comprises: a bracket which is fixed on the heald frame; and a hanger which is connected to a spring for supporting the heald frame or to a wire rope and which is coupled to the bracket. The bracket or the hanger has a cylindrical supporting shaft projecting therefrom, and the corresponding hanger or bracket has an engaging hole formed therein. The bracket and the hanger are turnably engaged with each other. At least one engaging projection is formed at the periphery of the hanger or bracket, and at least one U-shaped abutting projection having an engaging space is formed at the corresponding periphery of the bracket or hanger. The engaging projection is inserted into the engaging space, and the hanger is securely held by the bracket.

Abstract: A carrier for releasably receiving, retaining, carrying and hanging hook portions of a plurality of coat hangers includes a C-shaped member having upper and lower portions which overlie each other and which extend substantially in a common plane. The upper leg portion is of sufficient size relative to the size of one's hand to effectively distribute the load of a plurality of garment-carrying hangers across the width of one's hand. The lower leg portion is provided with two openings which extend substantially perpendicular to at least a part of the lower leg portion. One of these openings serves to releasably receive and retain hook portions of a plurality of hangers with such hangers extending substantially perpendicular to the common plane. The other of these openings receives a ring for supporting the carrier on a wall-mounted hook.

Abstract: This invention relates to a work hook device which is particularly constructed for supporting castings as they are conveyed through a blast cleaning machine. The work hook device includes a suitable support which is of an inverted keystone cross section and which has mounted thereon one or more hooks, each of the hooks including a hanger portion and a hook portion, and the hanger portion having an opening therethrough for receiving the support, and an upper portion of the opening being of a tapered configuration for interlocking engagement with the support. The construction is such that each hook may be mounted on its associated support in a desired angular relation as opposed to being vertically disposed and so locked in that position so as to rigidly engage a workpiece to be cleaned. Normally a pair of hooks will cooperate with one another to carry a relatively large casting. Each support may be carried by a rotatable shaft so as to rotate the casting during the blast cleaning operation.

Abstract: A portable display device in the form of an open basket of a plurality of open grid members that is detachably supported by attached flanges to the horizontal support members of a suspended panel ceiling. The basket display device, when so mounted, furnishes a support to detachable hangar devices that may suspend display merchandise, signs or other items in a store, at any desired height and above any desired floor location. The device is preferably formed as an open basket and of the general horizontal size of an individual ceiling tile of the panel ceiling, with a vertical depth ranging from one to two inches.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved device for supporting an object from a flanged ceiling supporting member of the type conventionally used in drop tile ceilings. More specifically, the device is adapted to cooperate with a ceiling panel supporting member having oppositely extending flanges which are provided with upper ceiling panel supporting surfaces. Briefly, the supporting device is of one-piece resilient construction and comprises a loop portion for receiving and holding an object supporting element, such as a suspension cord, and also comprises crossed legs formed integral with the loop portion of the device. The crossed legs have ends which are adapted to be spread apart by compressing the loop portion of the device against the inherent resiliency of the device, whereby the edges of the supporting member flanges may be received within the leg ends.

Abstract: This invention comprises a latchable swivel hook garment hanger in which the swivelling hook may be latched in any radial position relative to the hanger body and unlatched to swivel, repeatedly at will; it has a hanger body containing a bore for receiving, through its top end, the elongated shaft portion of the hook member, and, through its bottom end, a latching member, such as a wing bolt, set screw, et.,; the bore is interrupted by a window-like opening in the hanger body; the segment of the hook shaft coming within the window includes a means, such as a flattened portion alone, or a detent in combination with a washer, to limit axial movement of the hook shaft while permitting it to swivel freely. The latching member is axially movable within its bore segment to axially engage or disengage the hook shaft.

Abstract: A support rod for supporting a number of clothes hangers includes an elongated rigid bar having transverse openings therein for receiving the clothes hangers, and a pair of hooks pivotally mounted at the ends of the bar about axes which extend transversely of the bar. The bar can be suspended by one or both of the hooks. Also, the hooks can be swung toward each other in the long direction of the bar and manually grasped so that the bar can be held by one hand while a user places hangers through the bar openings with the other hand.

Abstract: A carrier for releasably receiving, retaining and carrying hook portions of a plurality of coat hangers includes a C-shaped member having upper and lower portions which overlie each other and which extend substantially in a common plane. The upper leg portion is of sufficient size relative to the size of one's hand to effectively distribute the load of a plurality of garment-carrying hangers across the width of one's hand. The lower leg portion is provided with a hanger-hook receiving structure which defines an opening extending parallel to at least a part of the lower leg portion for releasably receiving and retaining hook portions of a plurality of hangers with such hangers extending substantially within the common plane. In one embodiment, the receiving structure includes a depending formation defining the opening into which a plurality of hanger-hooks are insertable.

Abstract: A support device for a plurality of garment hangers is disclosed and an operating handle member therefor. The support device includes a hook portion by which it can be hung from a standard traverse member in a shipping box and a bead formation by which the device can be lifted on engagement of the operating handle member with the bead formation. The device is particularly easily extruded from PVC, polycarbonate or polypropylene materials.

Abstract: In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, a scaffold is shown for attachment on the bottom side of an offshore drilling rig or platform. The scaffold is quickly installed and removed. It is fabricated with a set of upright hanger straps which, in turn, clamp to eye beams spanning the bottom side of the offshore structure. The hanger straps incorporate opposing hooks at the upper end. The central portion is comprised of an elongate strap or hanger, the length accommodating workmen. Each strap terminates at its lower end with a support to receive framing members such as horizontally deployed structural beams. The beams support deck planking arranged horizontally thereon and spaced from the bottom side of the offshore structure.

Abstract: The invention provides for a method of and means for supporting the packing in an evaporative cooling tower in which the packing includes packing elements, each of which is suspended at its central region by means of a wire hanger. The packing element includes spaced splash ribs and the elements are vertically arranged offset from each other so that in plan view the packing presents an uninterrupted surface.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a display hanger particularly adapted for use in suspending signs or other displays from various types of ceiling. The hanger comprises a spade member adapted to be secured to a suitable location to the ceiling and a removable pin member from which the display may be suspended. In one embodiment the spade includes a threaded projection adapted to be threaded into a portion of the ceiling. In other embodiments, the spade may be secured to a plate having an adhesive coating provided thereon or alternatively the spade may be secured to a clip for attachment to support members of suspended ceilings. An installation tool and method of installation is also disclosed herein.

Abstract: An arrangement for a foundation brake rigging on a railway car includes a dead brake lever anchoring arrangement which comprises a bracket supported in openings extending through the walls of the wheel truck bolster. The bracket includes hook-shaped elements which support a generally horizontal connector rod disposed below the bolster. One end of the connector rod is provided with a hinged linkage arrangement, which includes an eye portion which engages and supports a hook-shaped lower end portion of the dead brake lever.
