Abstract: An improved vehicle support apparatus, also referred to as a hub stand, for use with a vehicle. Certain aspects of the invention include a vertically disposed plate-like body or hub plate (20) which is adapted to receive a vehicle hub. In one embodiment, the plate-like body defines a plurality of openings (e.g 21, 22) adapted to receive a vehicle hub and/or hub bolt. In certain aspects, the plate-like body is vertically adjustable and/or slidably received between clamp members. In another aspect, the plate-like body has openings adapted to receive pins, rods or bolts, and a clamp member has corresponding openings adapted to receive pins, rods or bolts, whereby the hub plate may be adjusted vertically relative to a vehicle.

Abstract: An adjustable kickstand, such as a motorcycle kickstand, includes a generally-tubular outer member defining a longitudinal bore by which a second member slides into. The first member or outer member maintains a set bolt by which to slide into pre-set bores within the inner member to adjust the height or angle of the motorcycle. The support member further includes a tension spring urging the members to a retracted position relative to the motorcycle and at least one gravity-responsive locking element carried within respective members. By pushing both members the attitude of the two members moves between an operative orientation and a stowage orientation.

  • Publication number: 20070252065
Abstract: A vehicle stabilization device for use in stabilizing a vehicle to enable safe and rapid victim extrication operations by first responder and other personnel. The device includes a base plate for enabling its emplacement on an underlying support surface beneath the vehicle to be stabilized. First and second extender members, each having a base end and a distal end, are hingedly connected to each other at their distal ends. The base ends are rotably mounted to the base plate and are moveable toward each other from an initial spaced position. This reduction of spacing between the base ends acts in conjunction with the hinged attachment between the distal ends to increasingly incline the extender members with respect to the base plate and thereby increasingly elevate the distal ends above the base plate. A vehicle contact and support member is secured to the distal hinged ends, and elevates with the distal ends of the extender members until contact is made with the overlying portion of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7240885
Abstract: An improved emergency vehicle support kit comprises a cylinder and two pistons attached to form a telescoping device. When assembled, the telescoping device attaches to an improved vehicle support base plate by a swivel support base plate adapter. The support base plate also attaches to swivel support base plate adapter, and this adapter rotates approximately 340 degrees along the upper vehicle support base plate surface. With this swivel support base plate adapter, the operator can manually orient the telescoping device either vertically or at an angle. Knurled connecting collars comprise circular interior lips which prevent each first and second piston from inadvertently falling from the cylinder or the wider piston, as the case may be.
