Roller Or Ball Patents (Class 248/430)
  • Patent number: 10065536
Abstract: A vehicle seat includes a track latch assembly having a lower track configured to couple to a vehicle floor, an upper track coupled to a seat base, a recline handle rotatably coupled to a seat bottom, and a track release mechanism configured to move between a disengaged position that enables relative sliding movement between the lower track and the upper track, and an engaged position that facilitates preventing relative sliding movement between the lower track and the upper track. Rotation of the recline handle is configured to move the track release mechanism from the engaged position to the disengaged position, and movement of the seat bottom from a lowered position to a raised position is configured to move the track release mechanism from the engaged position to the disengaged position. A pivot latch assembly prevents movement of the seat bottom to and from the lowered and raised positions.

An entire structure combining the lower rails, the upper rails and the lock mechanisms is substantially symmetrical forward, backward, and bilaterally, and a force applied to the lower rails and the upper rails can be absorbed substantially evenly forward, backward, and left and right. Since the lock mechanisms have an elastic lock member in a substantially center part in a longitudinal direction, the lower rails and the upper rails are elastically deformable for reduction of a biased load at a time of locking, improvement in vibration absorption characteristic, and the like, and a plate thickness of each material can be made thinner than conventional for weight reduction.

  • Patent number: 8967583
Abstract: A manually, longitudinally adjustable motor vehicle seat having a lower rail secured to a vehicle chassis, and an upper rail longitudinally displaceable in the lower rail and secured to a seat component. Locking mechanisms released by release mechanisms secure the rails, and assume a release position when the backrest is folded forward. A blocking lever pivotably mounted on a pivot shaft secured to the upper rail can assume two stable extreme pivot positions, namely a passive position where the blocking lever has no contact with the release mechanism, and an active position where the blocking lever blocks the release mechanism in its release position. Upon longitudinal displacement of the seat from a comfort-longitudinal adjustment arrange into an easy-entry-longitudinal adjustment range, a control device comes into contact with the blocking device pivoting against the force of a spring device, out of its passive and into its active position, and vice versa.
