  • Patent number: 11371540
Abstract: A latch includes a ferrule defining a hollow interior region and a ferrule opening that opens into the hollow interior region. A washer is positioned adjacent an end of the ferrule. The washer defines a washer opening. A stud has an elongated body extending along a stud axis, and the stud is positioned to extend through the ferrule opening and keyed to the washer opening such that the stud rotates about the stud axis along with the washer. A lever is pivotably connected to the stud. Rotation of the lever about the pivot axis causes translation of the stud along the stud axis with respect to the ferrule between a latched position, in which an end of the stud protrudes beyond a connection end of the ferrule, and an unlatched position, in which the end of the stud is contained within the interior region defined by the ferrule.

  • Patent number: 5154258
Abstract: A ladder sitting on a rack is secured in position by a spring loaded pivoting arm which engages a ladder rung and is secured in position. The pivoting arm is mounted in a housing which is attached to the rack. The pivoting arm is locked into place to prevent removal of the ladder. A second arm engaging a siderail prevents the ladder from being swung out from under the pivoting arm. To release the ladder, the lock is removed and the pivoting arm is raised and rotated clear of the ladder. A second housing can be attached to the rack spaced from the first housing. • Patent number: 4062289
Abstract: A powerhead mounting bracket is connected to a diver's breathing tank support. A cord connected to the receiver has a plug with a projection for loosely fitting in an axial bore of the powerhead. The plug is placed in the axial bore and the powerhead shaft is placed between the flanges on the receiver. The sling at the other end of the powerhead is stretched, forcing the powerhead tight against the plug, and the stretched spring is hooked into slots in the receiver. The stretched sling holds the shaft of the powerhead against the base of the receiver and holds the powerhead longitudinally against the plug. When required for use, the powerhead shaft is grasped near the firing end and is pushed in a direction towards the sling, further stretching the sling. When the plug drops out of the axial bore, the shaft is pulled outward from the receiver, allowing the sling to become untensioned, whereupon the sling drops out of the slot in the receiver.

  • Patent number: 4019752
Abstract: A restraint device which can be quickly and easily installed in a vehicle to restrain wheelchairs from moving in any direction. A base of the device bolts to the floor of a vehicle used to transport the physically handicapped. A pair of vertically inclined rods connected to the base are positioned on either side of a space for a wheelchair. A clamping member slidably mounted on each of the inclined rods rests against the top of a large wheel of the wheelchair to clamp the wheel between the clamping member and a horizontal rod connected to the base of the restraint device. The clamping members can be easily locked in position and unlocked by a patient in the wheelchair using very little pressure and requiring very little dexterity. The device prevents forward, backward, upward and sideways movement of a wheelchair which has thus been locked in position.
