Patent number: 5363607Abstract: An improved flagpole construction is disclosed. The device includes a cap that passes the halyard through two apertures to obviate the need for a pulley or like apparatus. The device is lightweight, strong, and is easy to assemble. A plurality of hollow PVC tubing lengths make up the pole portion of the device. These have decreasing inner diameters, the diameters decreasing in amounts proximate the thickness of the tubing walls such that they fit telescopically within one another and they are connected by pipe reducing fittings, also preferably constructed of PVC material, to provide for a weather tight fit. The telescopic construction provides for strength as up to half of the length of each of the tubing lengths is nested within the one preceding it. The various tube lengths are secured to each other by bores extending through the various telescoped pairs, with a bolt or like object fastened therein.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1994Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Inventor: Nicholas A. Patent number: 5122014Abstract: A beach anchoring device for easy and reliable installation and fast removal of the stick-like objects, mainly beach umbrellas, on sand/soft ground beaches. Also might be used to anchor fishing rods, tents, canopy posts and other post-supported structures mainly on beaches. The device includes a tubular pole 1 with centering projection 6 and slightly twisted propeller-like blandes 5, and a handle 2, that fits the holes 7 in the pole 1. The pole might be screwed in the sand by the handle inserted in the holes 7. When installed in the sand, the handle is removed from the holes and an umbrella is inserted into the pole together with the handle which locks the umbrella stick in it. The sand that partly fills the pole is compacted by the umbrella stick and, interacting with the bottom end portions of the pole provides reliable anchorage. To remove the device, it should be screwed out of the sand.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1991Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Inventor: German S. Genfan

Patent number: 5029799Abstract: A mechanical bracket for mounting a telecommunication antenna on a metallic tower comprises a pipe section to secure the bracket to the tower. The angular position of the pipe section about its longitudinal axis is selected to appropriately orient the bracket. A transversal pivot bridges a pair of spaced apart parallel plates of the bracket. The antenna comprises a pole member with a free end pivotally mounted on the pivot between the two plates. A bolt and nut assembly traverses the pole member and two arcuate slots respectively made in the parallel plates. In operation, the pole member is rotated about the pivot with the bolt sliding in the two arcuate slots, and the bolt and nut assembly is tightened when a desired position for the pole member, and therefore for the antenna, is reached to thereby lock the pole member and the antenna in this position.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1990Date of Patent: July 9, 1991Assignee: Roy Telecommunications Lt'eeInventor: Marc Bernier

Patent number: 4714225Abstract: A foundation system for a mast is installed in the ground with earth anhcors and employs three unitary arms radiating from a central mounting hub. The mast, typically a pipe, is united with the foundation system by a combination clamp and brace which resists high torsion and overturn loading that occurs under high wind conditions. Upper and lower clamping collars are provided by specially configured gusset plates integral with the inner ends of the arms. Each gusset plate on an associated arm has a wing portion welded to the arm and an arcuate portion extending therefrom which partially embraces the mast. An outwardly bent lug on the distal end of each gusset plate is in proximal relationship to the wing of the gusset plate on an adjacent arm, thus the application of drawbolts tightens the plates to form the upper and lower clamping collars and rigidly secure the mast to the system in a vertical orientation.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1986Date of Patent: December 22, 1987Inventors: Jerald P.
