  • Patent number: 9909692
Abstract: A conduit spacing and mounting system and method are provided for prefabricating multilayered assemblies of conduits and mounting them end-to-end in a building. The system includes a pair of spacer plates, each having a same pattern of conduit-receiving openings, and a plurality of clamping assemblies, each including a bracket which is discrete from and individually attached to the spacer plate adjacent to one of the conduit-receiving openings. The clamping assemblies are oriented at different angles relative at different rows of the conduit-receiving openings to provide access for a clamp-tightening tool in the spaces between different rows of conduits. The use of spacer plates largely prevents lateral misalignments between the conduits, and the use of a separate bracket formed from a harder, stronger or thicker metal than the spacer plate greatly increases the strength and reliability of the clamping force applied to the conduits.

The support device comprises a plate-shaped holder portion defining a peripheral edge, the holder portion comprising a support slot defining a loading opening made in the peripheral edge of the holder portion, a holder well made transversely in the holder portion spacedly from its peripheral edge, and a channel made transversely in the holder portion and extending between the holder well and the loading opening. The holder well is dimensioned such that it is broader than the medical wire the support device is destined to support. The support device further comprises attachment means connected to the holder portion for attaching the support device to the supporting surface.

  • Patent number: 6889943
Abstract: A hanger bar assembly for supporting an outlet box between spaced apart support elements including a first channel member being longitudinally slidingly engagable with a second channel member forming a longitudinally adjustable support bar. The first channel member has a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves and the second channel member having a plurality of longitudinally extending rails slidingly received in the grooves such that lateral movement between the first and second channel members is resisted. A clamping device is provided for urging the first and second channel members into respective forced engagement thereby restricting movement between the first and second channel members. A securement device attached to the support bar for securing the support bar to the spaced support elements is further provided. The first and second channel members have apertures formed therein to accommodate fasteners for securing end plates to the support.

  • Patent number: 6796335
Abstract: An elongated strap has a plurality of openings sized to hold plumbing pipes extending through the openings. The openings have a periphery that undulates so the periphery extends on opposing sides of the strap to increase the periphery in contact with the pipe along the longitudinal axis of the pipe. A fluid-tight pipe cover releasably connects to further openings in the strap. The pipe cover has a first, open end sized to fit over the pipe. The open end has projections cooperating with the further openings to releasably fasten the cover to the strap. The cover has a closed, distal end that extends beyond the distal end of the pipe during use of the device. A seal is interposed between the cover and the pipe during use of the device to prevent the passage of fluid from the pipe past the seal.

  • Patent number: 6598835
Abstract: An insulating pipe clamp for supporting one or more pipes within an aperture in a metal wall stud and the like includes an annular body portion having a radially outwardly protruding flange at one end. Extending axially through the body portion are a plurality of different diameter holes for accommodating different size pipes. The axes of the holes are offset from the axis of the body portion to permit rotation of the clamp to compensate for any misalignment between a pipe extending through one or more of the holes and a respective aperture in a metal wall stud in which the clamp is inserted. On the rearwardly facing end wall of the flange are a plurality of tabs for grasping by an installer for ease of insertion of the clamp into a respective aperture in a metal wall stud and for ease of rotation of the clamp within the aperture.

Abstract: A plate to reinforce a shear panel that has been weakened by an opening extending through the panel is provided. The plate is selected to have a shear load capacity greater than the shear panel without the opening. The plate has a plate opening similar to the panel opening, and is secured to the panel with a predetermined strength and arrangement of panel fasteners. The plate is sized to fit between adjacent structural members. Opposing side flanges extend outwardly from the plate. Flange fasteners of predetermined strength and spacings are used to secure the flanges to the structural members.
