Abstract: A support device that helps to anchor a treadmill in horizontal and upright positions. The support mechanism has two pads and two anchors that are separately attached to the frontal horizontal tubing and along the front of the frame. When the treadmill frame is placed horizontally in an operative mode, the pads provide close contact with the ground surface so that the entire device is stable and unmoving. An auxiliary support is also incorporated in the upper front so that when the treadmill is placed vertically in a folded state, the support anchors at the front of the frame can position the treadmill in an upright position firmly to prevent incidental free-fall to ensure greater safety.

  • Patent number: 5815992
Abstract: A two part, weight bearing shim adjustable in height. The shim comprises two generally triangular or wedge shaped members. A base member has a flat bottom surface and a stepped upper surface. A smaller member is placed in inverted relationship on the base member. The smaller member has a stepped lower surface cooperating with the stepped upper surface of the base member. The upper surface of the smaller member is parallel to the bottom surface of the base member after assembly. The base and smaller members are mutually keyed to prevent improper interfit during assembly. The base member has vertical voids or bores formed in its body. This construction promotes ability of the bottom surface to engage a rough or irregular environmental surface, and minimizes the amount of constituent material required for fabrication. Recycled plastic is a preferred constituent material.

  • Patent number: 5749550
Abstract: Adjustable rear leveling systems for refrigerators and other appliances are described. In one embodiment, the leveling system includes a rear rail having notch embossed pads. Rail leveling units are mounted to the rear rail at the pads. Each rail leveling unit, in the one embodiment, includes a rail bracket which mounts to the rear rail. Each leveling unit also includes a leveling link and a link arm. The leveling link is rotatably secured to the rail bracket by a first pin, and a leveling roller is engaged to the leveling link by a second pin. A first end of the link arm extends through a keyed opening in the leveling link and a second end of the link arm has a threaded opening extending therethrough. An adjusting screw extends through an opening in a front rail of the appliance, and a threaded portion of the adjusting screw extends through, and into threaded engagement with, the threaded opening in the second end of the link arm.

Abstract: An assembly to mount an appliance on a floor includes a pair of openings in the appliance base, each surrounded by a helical thread. The thread includes a pair of downwardly projecting detents. A mount for each opening includes a head with a shaft extending from the top thereof and received in the opening. The shaft includes an external helical thread mating with the appliance base thread. The mount is made of plastic which cold flows sufficiently for the shaft thread to conform to the detents. An unbalance responsive mechanism includes a strap extending across the housing with a transverse pin adjacent each end. A mount for each end of the strap includes a head with a shaft extending from the top thereof. The distal end of the shaft includes transverse openings to receive an end portion of the strap and the corresponding transverse pin. Non-skid, insulating pads are bonded to the bottom of the heads.

  • Patent number: 5503082
Abstract: A concrete-embedded, machinery-anchoring floor system includes parallel, accurately-extruded steel rails each having a unique cross-sectional configuration. Vertical loading of the rails improves the load-bearing strength of the concrete, whether the loading is in tension or compression. Each rail includes a pair of spaced angularly-extending, outwardly and downwardly-projecting flanges. When a downward compressive load is applied through the rails from above, the load also applies downward and inward force vectors generally perpendicular to the angular flanges, compressing concrete therebetween. If tension is applied to a rail from a cantilevered load, the angular flanges are fulcrumed toward each other about their connecting joints with the rail, also compressing and strengthening concrete therebetween. The angular flanges are rounded at their distal edges to enable supporting and interconnecting reinforcing bars to be easily welded to the rounded edges, irrespective of the angle of the bars to the edges.
