  • Patent number: 7980536
Abstract: The invention is a mounting system for a vibrational element. The vibrational element has a longitudinal axis, an outer surface and an axial displacement node. The mounting system includes an isolation member which has an isolation surface, an isolating body, and an engaging portion. The engaging portion is immovably secured to the isolation member and extends radially inward from the isolation body at a point radially opposite the isolation surface. The engaging portion is disposed so as to engage the outer surface of the vibrational element. Radial displacements of the vibration element are substantially decoupled from the isolation surface through the engaging portion.

  • Patent number: 5526708
Abstract: An adapter for rapid attachment and removal of a flanged motor on a power driven appliance. A bracket attaches to the appliance and cooperatively receives the motor flange. Pins incorporating clips or expanding projections then secure the motor to the appliance. A shaft-to-shaft connector is then secured in place on the shafts, thus coupling the motor output shaft and appliance power input shaft. The connector may include pins inserted through aligned bores in the connector and the shafts. In a preferred embodiment, the connector may comprise mating forward and rear components sandwiching a resilient member therebetween, which arrangement accommodates minor angular and parallel misalignment. In other alternative embodiments, the connector comprises a splined collar slidable over splined output and input shafts, and a clutch and drum arrangement. For belt driven appliances, the motor output shaft terminates in a pulley, or is coupled to a shaft having a pulley and attached to the appliance.

  • Patent number: 4606667
Abstract: A stationary robotic base carries a movable robotic platform and supports a pair of vertical striker plates spaced apart by a central, elastomeric block. The striker plates are confined within a compartment of the stationary base, and extend upward into a pathway defined by a lug depending from the moving platform. The lug contacts the top portion of a given striker plate and, as the plate is struck, it tends to pivot about its bottom edge toward the other plate, compressing the elastomeric block, while the other plate is held from moving away from the block. The assembly is bidirectional, with each striker plate being yieldable toward the other as it is encountered by the moving lug.
