  • Patent number: 5337960
Abstract: A lightweight, portable and collapsible support apparatus for pressurized water conveyance and overhead mist spraying nozzles (88). A single rear elongated leg (2) extends outwardly to the rear of the apparatus. Two front elongated legs (3R, 3L) extend forwardly and laterally outward in a substantially oblique direction, and are pivotally attached to the rear leg (2), such that the front legs (3R, 3L) can be folded up into a longitudinal bundle for easy carrying and stowing. A boom (30) is demountably attached to the upper end-portion of the rear leg (2), and extends forwardly upward in substantial alignment with the rear leg (2). A garden hose (39) supplies water to the boom (30), which delivers the water up to an overhead branch arm assembly (80), which is demountably and pivotally attached to the upper extremity of the boom (30). The branch arm assembly (80) comprises a plurality of branch arms (81) with mist spraying nozzles (88) attached thereto.

  • Patent number: 5322403
Abstract: Apparatus for moving construction material relative to a building frame includes a weighted, pivotable base, an extensible shaft projecting from the base, and a carrier assembly adjustable transversely of and pivotable relative to the shaft and including releasable grippers for holding construction material on the assembly, positioned on the shaft. The base has a non-slip exterior surface and a retractable caster housed therein. The shaft is extensible manually and includes a jacking mechanism for extending same incrementally. A spring on the shaft urges the construction material in contact with the building frame. The shaft is made up of telescoped tubular members, and a piston type seal to trap air is provided for dampening downward movement. A collapsible tripod mechanism provides additional support for the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5259612
Abstract: A portable water-filled device for supporting a basketball system including a base configured to hold a ballast material for supporting the basketball system in a substantially rigid position during us of the system to play the game of basketball. A pole is pivotally mounted to the base such that the pole may move between a generally vertical position and a tilted position with the base configured with a beveled hole for restraining the pole from pivotal movement substantially beyond the tilted position. A contractible sleeve is utilized to pivotally attach support arms to the pole. The sleeve includes an adjustment wheel for securing the sleeve to the pole and a bubble level for vertically positioning the pole. The base is configured with an orifice through which water may be inserted into the base. A plug for closing the orifice includes an anchor for loosely connecting the plug to the base when the plug is disengaged from the orifice.

  • Patent number: 5248140
Abstract: A portable basketball system that in a preassembled state is capable of disposition within an outer relatively flat container to assist in shipping. The basketball system comprises a pole, a backboard, a basketball goal, and a hollow ballast-receiving base. The pole has a proximate end and a distal end and comprises a plurality of pole sections. The backboard may be connected to the pole near the distal end of the pole. The basketball goal may be connected to the backboard. The hollow ballast-receiving base supports the pole in a stationary, substantially upward disposition when connected to the pole near the proximate end of the pole. This provides a pole upon which the basketball goal may be suspended at an elevation above a playing surface and the base.

Abstract: Traffic channeling device includes a deformable plastic drum and a rubber collar insertable over the drum to act as ballast for the drum. The rubber collar comprises a bead portion and an integral side wall portion of a recycled truck tire. When the rubber collar is inserted over the drum, the rubber collar gives the drum a relatively low center of gravity and grips the ground over a relatively large surface area to resist tipping of the drum and eliminate walking of the drum on the ground.

  • Patent number: 5220740
Abstract: A movable stand made of a base member having a flat bottom surface adapted to rest on the ground and with a pair of rotatable wheels mounted under the base member on an axle adjacent and within the periphery of the base member. The wheels are mounted under the base member at such a level so that their periphery does not touch the ground when the base member rests on its bottom surface. The base member is provided with a connecting means to receive a stick handle above and substantially midway between the wheels. The base member is accordingly adapted to be tilted by the stick handle for bringing the wheels in contact with the ground and for moving the base member from one location to another in its tilted position. The base member is provided on its top surface with a selection of perforations and stumps for upstandingly receiving a post carrying a pictogram.
