  • Patent number: 4997602
Abstract: A collection of sheet-metal, flanged, arcuate panels is provided which panels can be assembled in belts of generally circular cross-section commencing from the bottom of the manhole to provide a complete form structure for casting a concrete liner with a minimum thickness of about three inches and including openings created by sectional cylindrical inserts, all of which can be assembled, then disassembled after the concrete liner has set. An extensive variety of panels to accomodate different shapes of manholes includes panels for forming right conical belts, for forming offset conical belts, and for forming wedge-shaped belts to make transitions between vertical and tilted sections of the manhole. A key-panel for these various belts is provided to prevent capture of the panels by the poured concrete liners which includes a relatively narrow portion with vertical flanges fixed at an angle to one another which angle diverges toward the center of the form structure.

Abstract: A disposable form for manufacturing curb inlet drains in situ includes a base for forming the main body of the curb inlet drain, and a neck for forming a manhole opening. The base is made of a frangible material that can be broken into pieces and removed from the drain after concrete is poured and sets around the form. In other embodiments, both the neck and base are made of a frangible material. The form is lightweight, inexpensive, and reduces the cost of manufacturing curb inlet drains in situ.

  • Patent number: 4915345
Abstract: A curved concrete forming structure to provide a 1000 psf system for forming curved walls having a radium in excess of 5'. The structure includes a series of arcuately curved metallic panels secured in stacked side-by-side assembly. The improvement particularly concerns a panel which is comprised of a flexible metallic skin plate. Spaced vertically extending ribs are positioned along the length of the panel on one side thereof. The ribs and the skin plate have essentially the same vertical dimensions. A pair of vertically spaced arcuately curved angles are provided which angles have identical diameters that correspond to the diameter of the concrete wall to be poured using the concrete forming structure. The curved angles are substantially stiffer and inflexible compared to the flexible skin plate.

Abstract: The mortar cap receives cementitious materials therewithin, such as cement, mortar, and the like, to define a footing for a manhole frame, and has a base frame with a pair of concentric, spaced-apart walls, and an ancillary frame, also with a pair of concentric, spaced-apart walls. The base frame is set within the ancillary frame, and the latter is slidably and vertically displaceable relative to the base frame. The ancillary frame has a plurality of knobs projecting from walls thereof which confront given walls of the base frame, and the given walls of the base frame has a plurality of racks of ribs which confront the knobs. With vertical displacement of the ancillary frame, or a sector of the ancillary frame, the latter is arrestingly held in the displacement due to an interference of the knobs and ribs, and an engagement of the knobs with a pair of the ribs.

  • Patent number: 4735395
Abstract: An improved system is provided for separation of contiguous concrete portions of a structure. This separation is advantageous in reducing structural failure caused by earth settlement, frost upheaval or excessive underground water pressure by allowing each section of an in-ground concrete structure affected to freely float independent of each other, thereby eliminating the effects of stress on the structure. The system has particular utility in forming a deck surrounding a swimming pool and may be used in conjunction with a form which is temporarily secured near the top on the vertical pool wall to receive the concrete forming the pool. The separator system is used at the interface at the top (on the bond beam) of the pool wall and under the deck and comprises an adapter and clip fastener.
