  • Patent number: 11619435
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making clear ice utilizes an insulated cooler tray, a container, and degassed water arranged in the container. The container includes a chamber in an upper portion and at least and preferably a plurality of receptacles in a lower portion, with the chamber and receptacles being filled with degassed water. The container is arranged in the cooler tray which includes a greater amount of insulating material in the bottom of the tray than in the top. When the container and cooler tray are arranged in a freezer, the tray causes directional freezing of the degassed water which forces any residual gas or air in the water to the bottom of the container into the receptacles. When directional freezing is complete, the bottom portion of the container may be broken away and the clear ice product removed from the container chamber for use.

Abstract: A seat having particular application for a chair to enhance the comfort of one seated in the chair. A plurality of (e.g., foam) cushion layers laying one over the other are located at the top of the seat. One of the plurality of foam cushion layers is manufactured from a material having a memory which conforms to and temporarily retains the shape of the user. Located at the bottom of the seat below the plurality of cushion layers are a plurality of coil springs that stand upwardly against the cushion layers in side-by-side alignment with one another so that the back of the seat is firmer than the front. The plurality of cushion layers are arranged in a stack such that the density of the memory foam cushion layer is greater than the density of the other ones of the plurality of cushion layers.

  • Patent number: 9370881
Abstract: The invention features a method for producing replicas of a desired structure, a master and a mold obtained from it for use in such a method. The master includes a desired structure (200) to be reproduced and an additional structure (206, 208) that assists in removal of the master from a mold, e.g. by permitting portions of the mold on opposite sides of the additional structure to flex away from one another when the master is removed from the mold. The method includes immersing the master comprising the desired structure (200) and the additional structure (206, 208) in a molding material (142), solidifying the molding material (142) to make a mold, removing the master from the mold and using the mold to produce replicas of the desired structure (200).

Abstract: A method for producing a substrate having a concavity and convexity pattern includes: a step for applying a sol containing a silica precursor on a substrate to form a coating film; a step for drying the coating film; a pressing step for pressing a mold having a concavity and convexity pattern against the dried coating film with a pressing roll; a step for peeling off the mold from the coating film; and a step for baking the coating film to which the concavity and convexity pattern has been transferred. The coating film is dried in the drying step so that the ratio of weight of the coating film to dried weight of the coating film is in a range of 1.4 to 8.8, the dried weight being obtained by baking the coating film at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius. The coating film may be heated in the pressing step.
