Abstract: An indicator device is provided for indicating a configuration of a gate valve. The indicator device includes a cam that is coupled to a valve stem of the gate valve such that rotation of the valve stem causes rotation of the cam. The indicator device further includes a gear that is coupled to the cam such that rotation of the cam causes movement of the gear and a gauge along which the gear is movable. The gauge displays an indicator that corresponds to the configuration of the gate valve based on a first position of the gear and a second position of the valve stem.

  • Patent number: 11844342
Abstract: The present invention provides an electronically controlled valve in each air distribution line for delivering product-conveying air to a boom section of an agricultural machine. The valves can be used to balance airflow between lines by controlling back pressure at the boom sections. In one aspect, an electronically controlled butterfly valve can be installed in each air line between a fan's plenum outlet and a dry product delivery meter. Each valve can be configured to allow some flow when in a closed position. This could be achieved, for example, by configuring a valve plate with a circular perimeter shape that has a smaller diameter than an inner diameter of the line or tube in which the valve plate is mounted.

  • Patent number: 11771437
Abstract: A suspension of a therapeutic substance (e.g., embolic beads) dispersed within a liquid can be delivered via a catheter by using a bidirectional pump to rapidly draw the mixture of the therapeutic substance and liquid from an external syringe into an internal reservoir, then rapidly push the mixture back out into the external syringe. The rapid operation of the bidirectional pump mixes the two constituents so that the therapeutic substance is temporarily suspended within the liquid. Then, a low-speed pump is used to inject the mixture out via the catheter. In some embodiments, the parameters of the low-speed pump are controlled so that the fluid exiting the catheter will experience laminar flow. When the therapeutic substance comprises embolic beads, this can advantageously prevent reflux of the embolic beads, which can be dangerous.

  • Patent number: 6557819
Abstract: A water system uses a pressure reservoir of an extremely small size. A valve device is placed between a water pump and the pressure reservoir. The valve device has a constant outlet pressure to limit the flow from the pump at high pressures. The pump is turned on and off by a pressure on/off switch. The valve device maintains the pressure to the reservoir at or below the off switch pressure except for a trickle flow. The trickle flow fills the reservoir when there is little or no water usage from the reservoir. The trickle flow is achieved by preventing the surfaces to seal by a projection or notch the valve surfaces of the valve device. Each time the valve opens any debris is washed from the valve surfaces thereby keeping them free of debris.

  • Patent number: 6550743
Abstract: The hydraulic system for actuation of the mud valve of a measurement-while-drilling tool is characterized by a hydraulic actuator having a piston operatively connected to the mud valve of a measurement-while-drilling tool, which hydraulic actuator incorporates an internal by-pass which, cooperatively with movement of the piston, opens to unload hydraulic pressure from the system at either end of stroke of the piston. Return from the by-pass to the pump may be restricted so as to maintain some hydraulic pressure on the piston at end of stroke so as to prevent movement therefrom by external forces. The hydraulic system may include a high pressure relief valve, hydraulic fluid strainer and a device to equalize pressure between hydraulic system pressure and pressure external of the system.

  • Patent number: 6199823
Abstract: A solenoid actuated valve includes a valve body and a sleeve armature slidably mounted on the valve body for movement between a flow preventing position and positions away from the flow preventing position. In one embodiment, the sleeve armature and the valve body are configured and arranged to define flow diverters in fluid flow paths to provide flow balance. The movement of the sleeve armature between closed and open positions is controlled by first and second solenoid coils, and, the sleeve armature is maintained in the position to which it has been driven by residual magnetism. In another embodiment, a solenoid actuated valve includes a bias structure for urging the sleeve armature toward the closed position. The solenoid actuated fluid flow control valve is described with reference to an application for inflating inflatable restraints for an occupant of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5996687
Abstract: A variable flow control device having a substantially cylindrical housing with a valve element connected to an inner surface thereof. The valve is movable between an open position and a closed position in the bore. One or more flow control orifices are located in the valve element for controlling the flow of fluids through the housing when the valve element is in the closed position. A drive mechanism is also connected to the valve element for controlling the size of the one or more flow control orifices. As such, a full bore variable flow control device is provided that controls the flow of wellbore fluids without permanent reduction of the internal bore of the production tubing. By closing the flapper valve and selecting the size of the variable orifices, total control of the production flow of the wellbore can be achieved. By opening the flapper valve, full bore wireline operations to the bottom of the well can be performed.

  • Patent number: 5975654
Abstract: The invention pertains to a valve unit, comprising a valve housing (8) with a flow control valve, an electromagnetic actuating element (1) that is structurally arranged in series with the flow control valve in the valve housing (8), and a piston (3) that forms the flow control valve and produces an unobstructed pressure medium connection between a pressure medium source (4) and a pressure medium sink (5) in its normal position. In its normal position, the actuating element (1) is supported on one end face of the piston (3) against the force of a compression spring (2). In the operating position, the actuating element separates from the piston (3) and assumes an intermediate position in which it controls the volume flow of the pressure medium between the pressure medium source (4) and the pressure medium sink (5). This results in a simple and reliable valve construction.

  • Patent number: 5740810
Abstract: A flush device for an intravenous blood pressure monitoring system has a main body which includes a continuous capillary flow channel and a fast flush channel. The continuous capillary flow channel is separated from the fast flush channel by a median wall. A fast flush opening in the median wall is blocked by an elastomeric member. When the member is distended, the fast flush opening is unblocked. An alternative embodiment of the fast flush device has a tubular body with a capillary channel formed on an inner wall. An elastomeric member contained within the tubular body enables flow to the capillary channel when the elastomeric member is in an initial position. When the elastomeric member is in a distended position fluid is allowed to overflow the capillary channel thus permitting a fast flush flow.

The valve is a dual component device including a housing structure and a lever component. Both the housing structure and lever component have a trunk section of similar shape, but of different size. The trunk section of the lever component fits snugly within the trunk section of the housing structure. The lever component is able to rotate within the housing structure. The trunk sections in both the housing structure and the lever component include openings which provide a passageway for water to flow therethrough. The openings in the housing structure are spherically shaped and the openings in the lever component are pear-shaped. The housing structure includes a pair of tabs disposed 90.degree. from one another for limiting the rotation of the lever component such that the openings in both the housing structure and lever component are always aligned.
