  • Patent number: 11408533
Abstract: A solenoid valve includes a magnet assembly and a valve cartridge having an armature guided movably inside a capsule, a valve insert, a slide which is guided movably inside the valve insert and has a closing element and a sealing element, and a valve body with a valve seat. A main valve includes the sealing element and the valve seat. The slide is formed in two parts with the sealing element as the first part and the closing element as the second part. When the valve is not energized, the valve is open, and when the valve is energized, the sealing element seals in the valve seat. The sealing element and the closing element are made of different materials, and the material of the sealing element allows a partial elasticity of the slide while the material of the closing element allows a partial stiffness of the slide.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a valve system comprising of moving parts therein. The valve system is designed to be resistant to the effects of low temperatures which otherwise tend to compromise the correct operation of the moving parts of the valve system. The inventor has cleverly got around this problem by designing a valve in which the moving parts thereof are positioned inside the contents of a tank. The contents of the tank ensure that the moving parts are less vulnerable to fluctuations in temperature outside the tank. Consequently, the invention provides reliable valve operation during freezing weather.

  • Patent number: 8356616
Abstract: Some water drain valves tend to fill with water which may freeze, thereby jamming the valve. This invention provides an aircraft water drain valve comprising a passageway, a shaft, a first sealing member and a second sealing member. The shaft is moveable between an open position in which the first and second sealing members are arranged to allow free passage of fluid through the passageway, and a closed position in which both the first and second sealing members are arranged to prevent free passage of fluid through the passageway thereby preventing ingress of fluid into the region between the first and second sealing members. Thus water may be hindered from collecting and freezing in the part of the valve close to the cold wall of the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 8312889
Abstract: A combination flow control and reverse flow check valve provides a compact valve unit for controlling the flow of fluid in a downstream direction and limiting undesired backflow of liquid into a source such as a reservoir. The flow control and reverse flow check valve may be provided as a unitary member having a housing with an upstream end configured for mounting to the liquid source, a fluid conveying channel within the housing, and a check element positioned in the channel between the flow control valve, such as a ball valve, and a seat which is complementally configured with the check element to normally seal against backflow. A blocking element may be provided to prevent interference of the check element with the operation of the flow control valve while permitting liquid to flow in an intended downstream direction.

Abstract: A fuel can adapter has a threaded section for threadly engaging with a fuel device. Particularly, the fuel device has a threaded joint for engagement with the thread section of the fuel can adapter. In addition, this threaded joint can be used to connect a fuel can with a thread head, such that fuel in the fuel can can flow to the fuel device. With the fuel can adapter, a fuel can with a head, which does not have a threaded head but has a flange extending circumferentially thereon, is adapted to connect to the fuel device, such that fuel in the fuel can can flow to the fuel device.

Abstract: A valve assembly uses an O ring contained within a void such that the outer edges of the valve assembly reach the outer mid section of the O ring. A kettle for brewing beer or heating other fluid is drilled so as to accommodate the disclosed valve. The O ring is pressed and held against the outside surface of the kettle wall. A retaining nut placed within the kettle further secures the valve to the kettle. As the surface of the kettle heats during use, the contained O ring retains sufficient contact with the valve and kettle so as to prevent leakage.

  • Patent number: 8171954
Abstract: A pressure-relief valve assembly is improved in that sealing surfaces on both the valve seat and valve head are confrontationally disposed annular planar surfaces oriented substantially perpendicular to the valve axis. A resilient valve seal is formed of a material which deforms to a predetermined extent into sealing engagement against both sealing surfaces when compressed by the spring biasing force. When a vacuum exists the combination of the spring force and a holding force created by a pressure differential acts to increase the extent of compression between the resilient valve seal and both sealing surfaces sufficient to create a vacuum-tight seal. The magnitude of the spring biasing force in discrete increments may be adjusted by varying the degree of threaded engagement between members forming the valve housing.
