Abstract: The invention concerns a device comprising two components connected to each other with possible displacement of one component relative to the other, sealing means arranged between said two components, and flow rate adjusting means actuated by displacement of one component relative to the other. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises positioning means for placing the two components in two different positions, namely a first so-called sterilizing position, wherein said two components do not, or hardly exert, any stresses on the sealing means, and second so-called operating position, wherein said two components stress the sealing means to provide the required sealing conditions.

  • Patent number: 7004452
Abstract: A method of sealing a valve engaging member to a valve body about a borehole and structure thereof. Two seal members disposed on either side of the valve engaging member include a seat member adjacent the valve engaging member and a pocket insert adjacent the seat member. The pocket inserts fit within first and second pockets of the valve body. A C-shaped seal ring is disposed between the seat member and pocket insert, and two U-shaped seal rings are disposed between the pocket insert and the valve body. One of the U-shaped seal rings between the pocket insert and the valve body functions both as a radial seal ring and a retaining ring.

  • Patent number: 6880808
Abstract: A medical stopcock is provided that is constructed and arranged to withstand high pressures and gamma irradiation. The stopcock generally includes a housing and a valve member. The valve member is trapped within the housing so that, when subjected to relatively high pressures, the valve member is unlikely to become separated from the housing. A handle member is attached to the valve member and allows the valve member to be rotated from open to closed positions. In some preferred embodiments, the handle member locks the valve member within the housing, when attached. All of the components are constructed of gamma-stable materials so that the stopcock may be sterilized, in its package, using gamma irradiation.

Abstract: A main valve body has a first passage, a second passage, and an opening which intersects the first passage and the second passage. A main plug body is rotatably inserted into the opening, and has an upper section into which a handle is inserted, and a lower section having a through-hole. An O-ring is seated on an annular groove which is provided in the vicinity of the through-hole. A seal-retaining member for preventing the O-ring from projecting is fitted to an expanded diameter section of the first passage. One end of the seal-retaining member tightly contacts an end surface of the expanded diameter section. A curved surface corresponding to an inner circumferential surface of the opening is formed at the other end of the seal-retaining member.

Abstract: The present invention consists of an apparatus and method for supplying purified water to a faucet or other apparatus for use from a purification loop maintaining water in constant motion. The apparatus allows the user to select and withdraw the amount of water needed in a closely controlled fashion while any unused water remains in the loop where it is continually purified. A control valve with a manually rotatable spool permits the purified water to be adjustably tapped or withdrawn for various end uses.

Abstract: The invention relates to pipeline accessories and can be used for working medium flow control in pipelines in particular the pipelines having a high pressure and flow rate of working fluid. Technical result is achieved due to the fact, that the inventive valve comprises a body provided with inlet and outlet holes, a valve seat, a closure, connected to a drive and seal assemblies, where the body comprises a cylindrical insert and the closure is embodied in the form of a hollow sleeve consisted of two coupled cylindrical parts, the external diameter of the part thereof contacting the body constituting 0.9-1.1 of the internal diameter of the part thereof contacting the insert.

Abstract: In a flow amount control device, column shaped valve element is slidably disposed in a cylindrical inner circumferential wall of a valve body. The valve element is provided along an outer circumference thereof with two ring shaped grooves. Fuel stored in the ring shaped grooves serves to form film of oil for lubrication in a sliding clearance between the valve element and the valve body so that frictional resistance therebetween is smaller and the valve element slides smoothly on the valve body. Accordingly, the device can control flow amount of fuel accurately.

Abstract: A dry sectional gate valve having a swiveling intake elbow and shot pin assembly for selectively locking the elbow into a fixed position. A shot pin extends from a pull-knob through the flange of the elbow into one of a plurality of spaced-apart detent slots or holes around the perimeter of the valve body. The elbow can be swiveled thereby allowing a connecting fire hose to be positioned to minimize kinks and avoid obstacles thereby bringing water freely into the valve. The shot pin can be used to selectively lock the elbow in a desired position facilitating connection and disconnection of mating fire hose couplings or the shot pin can be set to allow the elbow to rotate freely enabling the hose to reach its most relaxed position when charged.
