Abstract: A sliding valve assembly includes a valve body having a fluid conducting port adjacent to a fluid impervious surface. The actuator allows fluid to travel through the valve assembly and into a fluid blocking position where the fluid impervious surface obstructs the fluid from traveling through the valve assembly. First and second sealing assemblies include a primary seal ring, a secondary seal ring around the primary seal ring, and a spring forcing the primary seal ring against a sealing surface. As pressure in the system increases, this pressure is delivered to the sealing assemblies to force them against the sealing surfaces to enhance the sealing relationship. Cams and cam followers affixed to the valve body overcome the frictional forces of the sealing system and the valve body and valve housing to increase the efficiency of the valve assembly and the system in which the valve assembly is used.

Abstract: A valve comprises a housing, a conduit, and a shut-off member, and a plurality of ribs. The conduit is fixed in position relative to the housing. The ribs are spaced from the conduit. The shut-off member is fixed in position within a cavity of the housing via the ribs. The gate has a fluid passageway extending therethrough and is movable relative to the shut-off member between opened and closed positions. The gate is able to linearly reciprocate between opened and closed positions along the center axis of the conduit. The gate is engaged with the shut-off member when the gate is in the closed position in a manner preventing fluid from flowing through the fluid passageway of the gate. The opened position of the gate allows fluid to flow through the fluid passageway of the gate.

  • Publication number: 20100044611
Abstract: A split gate is movably mounted within a valve body along a valve axis between valve seats. The split gate has gates, each extending between one of the valve seats and the other gate. In an open position, gate holes register with a fluid aperture and the valve seats to permit fluid flow. In the closed position, the holes do not register with the fluid aperture to prevent fluid flow. The split gate valve also has a gate guide located in the body for moving the gates with respect to the valve seats along the fluid axis. The gate guide forces the pair of gates apart along the fluid axis and into contact with the valve seats in both the open and closed positions. The gates have axial play along the fluid axis when the split gate is between the open and closed positions.

Abstract: A hygienic dispensing package includes a container having a top panel with a dispensing aperture selectively covered by a slide closure. The closure rides within a flat channel of the top panel and is in tongue and groove engagement with parallel side walls of the channel. One of a pair of spaced sockets in the channel is engaged by a detent formed on the underside of the closure when the aperture is covered; the detent seats in the other socket when the aperture is uncovered. The detent is formed as a protrusion on an integral cantilever leaf of the closure to assure intimate sliding contact between the faces of the channel and the closure and effective sealing of the aperture.

Abstract: An orifice valve having a moveable gate to control the flow of solids in a closed conveying system. The invention encompasses a valve housing with two complementary valve sections, each of a unitary construction. A single plate has a first planar surface, two opposed sidewalls and an end wall. The sidewalls include an integral flange section which presents planar surfaces that are placed in facing relationship with the planar flange surfaces of a second housing member so that the two form a closed cavity. A blade is received in the cavity and is reciprocal between open and closed positions so as to accommodate the flow of material or to block the flow.

Abstract: The improved vacuum gate of the present invention is capable of airtight isolation or interconnecting between two vacuum chambers. The improved vacuum gate is based on mechanical mechanism which simplifies the whole vacuum gate structure and provides more practical and economical usage. Two reverse L-shaped of the first guiding trenches are used to guide and allow the gate door of the gate box to move both in vertical and horizontal directions in such that the vacuum gate can air seal the vacuum chambers and provide enough force to open and close the vacuum chambers even when the vacuum pressure is increased or when the difference in thrust pressure is increased between the two vacuum chambers. Further, different types of the tubes and bellows can be used in the improved vacuum gate depended on the application of the vacuum gate in the different conditions of the gate valve close-open cycles.

Abstract: A valve assembly and method of actuating a valve blade in a processing chamber through the use of magnetic force coupling is disclosed. The valve assembly comprises a valve rod for imparting a reciprocal motion to a valve blade which opens and closes a valve, the valve rod having at least one magnet mounted thereupon. A housing seals the valve rod and valve blade from the ambient, and an actuator rod in the ambient, having at least one complementary magnet mounted thereupon, aligns with the magnet on the valve rod to form a magnetic coupling through the housing. An actuator mechanism then provides a reciprocal motion to the actuator rod, which transfers the motion through the magnetic coupling to the valve rod and valve blade. Multiple actuator mechanisms can also be employed to vary the force applied to the valve blade to further increase the life of the valve assembly while still providing a strong seal between processing chambers.
