Linear Reciprocation Of Rotary Handle Patents (Class 251/96)
  • Patent number: 11920698
Abstract: A flow control valve adjusts an opening degree of a second channel by moving a needle valve in a first axis direction in accordance with a rotating operation amount of a knob provided at the first body, and includes a scale body, and a scale reading part that indicates the scale mark corresponding to the rotating operation amount of the knob, and a clutch mechanism that changes the scale mark of the scale body when the knob is rotated. The clutch mechanism includes an engaging portion, an engaged portion, and a clutch drive mechanism, and the scale reading part and the scale body rotate integrally when the engaging portion and the engaged portion are engaged. The clutch drive mechanism releases engagement between the engaging portion and the engaged portion when the knob is rotated and, after the scale mark is changed, re-engages the engaging portion with the engaged portion.

  • Patent number: 6347784
Abstract: A valve having a housing from which projects a stem rotatable about an axis has an actuating assembly with an abutment ring fixed on the housing, formed with an annular slot, and having an abutment projecting radially into the slot. A knob mounted on and rotatable with the stem adjacent the ring carries a single-arm abutment lever pivoted on the knob and having an end engaged in the slot and displaceable radially between a radial outer position angularly engageable with the abutment and a radial inner position so that when the end is in the outer position rotation of the knob is blocked by engagement of the lever end and the abutment. A spring braced between the knob and lever urges the end into the outer position. A radially displaceable button on the knob engageable with the lever is radially inwardly displaceable to move the lever into its inner position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve handle for preventing a valve from being accidentally turned on. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the valve handle comprises a fixing ring which mobilizes the valve stem, so as to drive the stem up and down, the fixing ring having at least one stopper; and the valve handle has a knob housing that covers and mobilizes the fixing ring, and has at last one protrusion having a first perpendicular plane and a slant plane. The slant plane and the perpendicular plane work with the stoppers on the fixing ring to ensure that the valve can be easily closed but is difficult to open.

Abstract: Rotary handle device includes a coupling mechanism between the handle and a driven member. The handle is rotated about an axis and can also be axially moved between first and second positions. When the handle is in the first axial position it is operatively engaged with the driven member, and when the handle is in its second axial position it is operatively disengaged from the driven member. The handle drives the driven member via a coupling mechanism in the form of a keyed coupling between the handle and the driven member. The handle can be locked or receive a lock out device against rotation when it is in its second axial position. The keyed coupling and/or the pin and track arrangement can be used to permit axial movement of the handle only when the handle is in a predetermined orientation. The handle mechanism is shown in combination with a rotary operated valve having a valve stem as the driven member.

Abstract: The invention concerns a valve or tap for fluids, with a stopper that rotates controlled by a control rod equipped with a throttle or grip lever fixed to said rod by means of a fastening screw. The throttle or grip lever has at least one blocking notch (19, 20), designed to fit tightly with a catch (18), which is part of the valve body in order to prevent the stopper from turning. The fastening screw (15) has a special head that allows it to be screwed/unscrewed only with a specific wench or tool, thereby preventing tampering.

  • Patent number: 6260819
Abstract: The invention is a valve that releasably locks the valve in both the open position and the closed position. The valve has a valve body, a valve element, a handle, and a lock-out member that cooperates with the handle and the valve body to lock the handle and the valve element in either the open position or the closed position. The lock-out member has a collar that is rotatably mounted to the rim of the valve body. The collar has cogs that fit within notches in the rim and prevent the collar from rotating. The interlocking of the collar of the lock-out member with the valve body prohibits the rotation of the handle and the valve element. The lock-out member has a release member that cooperates with the handle to lift cogs out of the notches and cause the collar to disengage with the rim when the release member is activated. This allows the handle and the valve element to rotate between either the locked open position or the locked closed position.

  • Patent number: 5671904
Abstract: A valve safety handle having a handle slidably attached to a valve stem. The handle incorporates a handle female spline sized to engage a valve stem male spline. The handle female spline is urged out of engagement with the valve stem male spline by means of a spring trapped between the handle and valve stem. The valve stem also has a valve stem key sized to slide into a handle lower recess keyway. Thus the handle may engage with the valve stem only after the handle has been rotated relative to the valve stem until the valve stem key aligns with the handle lower recess keyway, and the handle has then been translated relative to the valve stem against the spring until the handle female spline is engaged with the valve stem male spline. An alternate embodiment incorporates an adapter having an adapter female spline sized to engage a standard plumbing valve stem male spline.
