Abstract: The invention relates to a fast drying biocidal composition having enhanced penetration for the treatment and preservation of wood, leather and similar natural products which comprises: A. between about 10 and about 50 wt. % of a concentrate comprising a petroleum distillate boiling above 40° C. and containing (a) between about 0.5 and about 7 wt. % of an active nitrogen- or sulfur-containing biocide and (b) between about 20 and about 55 wt. % of a solvent for said active biocide selected from the group consisting of (i) butyrolactone containing 0 to 85 wt. % N-methyl pyrrolidone and/or 0 to 85 wt. % of a C2 to C4 aliphatic alcohol and (ii) N-methyl pyrrolidone containing 0 to 85 wt. % of a C2 to C4 alcohol and B. from about 90 to about 50 wt. % of a C2to C4 aliphatic alcohol containing 0 to 85 wt. % of mineral spirit as a diluent to provide a sprayable composition and to the process for treating a wood or leather substrate with said biocidal composition.

Abstract: An aqueous polishing composition for leather containing in intermixture of a water phase and an oil phase is disclosed. The water phase containing a mixture of an antiseptic, an ethylamine, and water. The oil phase containing a mixture of carnauba, bees wax, an oleic acid, and an antioxidant. The resultant oil phase and water phase forms an emulsion by mixing them together and then cooling. More specific instructions of the preparation of the aqueous polishing composition for leather and leather products are disclosed in the specifications.

Abstract: This invention relates to fluorochemical compositions, their preparation and their use as water- and oil-repellents, and substrates treated therewith. The fluorochemical composition comprises a mixture of fluorochemical compounds and/or polymers, each component having at least two fluoroaliphatic groups and a large hydrocarbon moiety such as derived from dimer acids, and the polymer having at least one fluoroaliphatic group and a plurality of said hydrocarbon moiety.
