Fastening Means Remotely Operable Or Breakaway Type Patents (Class 254/410)
  • Patent number: 7744063
Abstract: A safety device for a fall arrest system comprises: a body, attachment means for attaching the safety device to a support structure, a drum mounted for rotation relative to the body, a safety line wound on the drum, a speed sensitive clutch connected to the drum, and a linear energy absorber connecting the body to the attachment means, in which the speed sensitive clutch is adapted to respond to rotation of the drum relative to the body in a direction tending to unwind the safety line from the drum and above a predetermined speed by locking the drum against further rotation in said direction relative to the body, and the linear energy absorber is adapted to respond, when the speed sensitive clutch has locked the drum, to an applied load along the safety line greater than a threshold value by deploying and absorbing energy so that the attachment means moves away from the body.

  • Patent number: 4285501
Abstract: An apparatus for retaining guide pulleys for load cables of a building front cable lift in a housing stationarily arranged at the top of a building, from which housing said guide pulleys are outwardly pivotable from ground. In the housing which is open at its face there are supported two beams which are outwardly pivotable horizontally and carry the guide pulleys for the load cables. The beams are retained releasably by means of an interlocking device arranged in the interior of the housing. The interlocking device is releasable by means of auxiliary cables guided on the guide pulleys, said auxiliary cables depending from an edge cutout in the base of said housing.

  • Patent number: 4211513
Abstract: This invention is a releasable pulley device that can be readily attached to the center rear of a boat trailer and through which the tow-in line for a boat is threaded. As the boat is winched in to the rear of the trailer an alignment of the prow with the center rear of the trailer is effected. The pulley device is released from its seating and rides free on the line as the boat is fully winched on to the trailer. This enables the dry loading of a boat from rough water as a one-man operation.
