Rack And Pinion Or Segment Patents (Class 254/6R)
  • Patent number: 5967732
Abstract: A lifting mechanism having special utility for snowmobiles that become stuck in the snow. The lifting mechanism enables a single person to lift the snowmobile up and to the side whereby the snowmobile track gains traction on new snow. It comprises a base plate, a vertical support of a plurality of sections, and a ratchet assembly which includes a cable for attachment to the snowmobile. The base plate is designed to facilitate side movement of the support after the snowmobile has been lifted.

  • Patent number: 5951234
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved device in pallet loaders, comprising an upright frame (1) and a pair of horizontal lifting fork members (2) which may be raised and lowered together with said frame (1) by means of a lifting mechanism. The lifting fork members (2) are equipped at their outermost end with one support wheel (4) each, which wheels are attached to an articulated arm (14) arranged to be pivoted downwards. The frame (1) and the lifting fork members (2) may be raised and lowered by means of a rack (6) which is connected via a cable, wire on chain (10) to an articulated, two-armed rocker arm (13). In turn, the latter is connected to the articulated arm (14) by means of a traction rod (15) which is associated with the arm (14). Upon upwards motion of the rack (6) and thus of the frame (1) a pulling force on the cable (10) will be transferred via the rocker arm (13) and the traction rod (15) to the articulated arm (14), which then swings downwards, thus raising the lifting fork members (2).

  • Patent number: 4961680
Abstract: A lifting and depositing device for a large container has connecting longerons which are approximately the height of the container and are attached to the corner fittings of the large container to be raised and lowered. The connecting longerons are arranged at the corners of the large containers and, at the bottom ends at some distance to the side, they support at least one more connecting longeron for an overhang beam of a rack and pinion jack. The rack and pinion jack can be raised and lowered along upright, at the bottom ends of which are arranged pairs of wheels. In order to be able to adjust the pairs of wheels in a simple manner to different track gauges (narrow and wide), the overhang beam can be attached either to the connecting longeron which is approximately the height of the container or to the additional connecting longeron.

  • Patent number: 4516901
Abstract: A movable lifting and depositing device comprising separate rack and pinion jacks to be connected to the corners of portable containers, e.g., cabins, containers, shelters or the like, by means of brackets, the jacks having racks for the containers provided on columns which have track wheels at the bottom. In order to maintain sufficient stability of the lifting and depositing device, even when the container to be handled is at relatively high positions, each rack and pinion jack has a swivel mechanism with two vertically spaced work positions. In its bottom work position, wherein it is folded down from a main column guide onto a relevant bracket, the swivel mechanism is to be connected with an auxiliary column guide arranged beneath the main column guide. This can be moved by the swivel mechanism into the top work position of the associated column.
