Weft End Or Selvage Float Loop Removal Patents (Class 26/10.4)
  • Patent number: 11034143
Abstract: Systems and processes for producing a product having a carrier and a card secured thereto. Such a process includes providing a blank having a card panel and carrier panel that are contiguous with a fold line therebetween. The process further includes cutting the card panel to at least partially define a partial cutout card therein such that a remaining portion of the card panel surrounds the partial cutout card, folding the card panel over and onto the carrier panel such that the partial cutout card is secured to the carrier panel with an adhesive, and then removing the remaining portion so that the remaining portion is separated from the partial cutout card, and the partial cutout card remains secured to the carrier panel and defines at least a portion of the card of the product.

  • Patent number: 7168456
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the removal of one or more lateral yarns from a woven industrial textile to prepare it for seaming. The apparatus consists of a movable table, a clamping device to hold the fabric, and a yarn removal device, consisting of a cutter and a combined hooked needle & thread catcher. In operation, the yarn removal device moves both vertically into and out of the fabric plane, and horizontally parallel to the longitudinal yarns. The yarn removal device pierces the fabric at two locations, cuts one or more yarns, and then grasps the cut section(s) to pull them down and out of the fabric plane. The cycle is repeated to form a longitudinal channel of desired length; the device is then moved laterally and the cycle repeated until an open channel parallel with the lateral fabric edge is accomplished.

  • Publication number: 20030200635
Abstract: An integrated cutter for preparing the edges of a fabric for seaming includes a hooked needle which oscillates vertically in a guide bushing located close to the plane of the fabric between a retracted position where the head of the needle is not exposed and an extended position in which the needle penetrates the fabric. The needle head is shaped so that when it moves upwardly it pushes between a pair of yarns in one direction until the hook is above a yarn in the other direction. The needle hook includes a transverse groove shaped so that when it moves downwardly it captures this yarn.

  • Patent number: 6450210
Abstract: A yarn cutting device for mechanical looms, having two mutually movable blades which are arranged on a mounting surface, at least one of the blades being operable by a drive. The drive is constructed as an electrically energized linear motor, whereby a compact flat construction is achieved which has few movable parts. One of the blade carriers is a rotor of the linear motor.
